Thanks so much for the explanation of phases, etc.
I'm soooo excited to get started. I really, really think this is it for me. I've got to stop googling though--there's a lot of bad press. But, the logic is soooo good on this and the results can't be argued with. I really, really hope it does for me what it has for others. ![]() ![]() ![]() I just wish we didn't have to wait six week between rounds. I'd love to lose 40 pounds by my vacation in June. I'm not in this for a one shot deal, so it's cool if I can't.

What you CAN do now however is get your protein portioned out and either freeze it raw OR cook and freeze it. That way you are more than ready to go when you start. Deb did that as well as me. And start looking for loading recipes. Everyone thinks they have to eat out when loading when I just cooked my high fat meals and treats at home. I made Linda Sues' cheeseburger pie, chocolate cheesecake (low carb) and ate those kinds of cheesy goodies while loading.

Can you give a list of the best high fat foods to eat during the load? I'm already planning what I want to eat for it! HA. I know the book says to GORGE, but I just cannot GORGE in one sitting. I've been eating small meals like forever. BUT I think I CAN manage to eat high fat stuff all day long in small meals. That would be ok, yes? Do you weigh all your protein? I need to buy a kitchen scale! OY. Do you plan a week's menu ahead of time or not? [Yes I'm getting my ducks in a row here.] Buying the hHCG today. Having been on Atkins Induction since Jan. 18, I'm having dreams about eating APPLES! Heh. Bless you! Marci

Weighed this morning after my first day and was down 2-1/2 lbs. I was shocked because last night I weighed when I got expecting to see some loss but my weight was the same as yesterday morning. I know I shouldn't weigh twice a day, but I peed so much yesterday I was sure I was going to be down last night.

As for protein, yes, I do weigh it all out. I have a small kitchen scale that measures in Oz as well as grams. So I have 3.5 oz and then cook the chicken, ground beef, shrimp, crab meat or fish. I love having the protein that is already cooked and ready to go. And no I don't plan a whole week ahead of time. Just go with what I feel like having for the day, but do have to make sure I have enough approved veggies on hand for the entire week. When I cook up the asparagus I can usually get 3 meals out of that so I like to cook all that ahead so it is just heat and eat. I know a bag of spinach usually lasts 2 meals, same with a can of tomatoes. And so on. You will get the hang of it!! And yes, the apples and grapefruit were heavenly!!! |

You guys are AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for the help and support.
One more question? Do you wait until after TOM? It recommends that in the book, but I wondered if it was necessary. You probably all think I'm a total rebel looking for any way possible to buck the system...it's not that...I just want to get started ASAP. I'm sure you know what I mean. |

So you basically weigh and cook a variety of protein and veggies and have them on hand for the week or whatever, right? I found that is great when low carbing too! Marci |

ALMOND COOKIES(with stevia this one would also work in P3 i think) - 2 cups of blanched almond flour - 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks - 1 stick of butter or equivilant oil (coconut oil, non hydrogenated lard) - nuts, if you enjoy them - sweetner of your choice - 1 teaspoon of salt - Mix batter well, and taste a bit, to make sure it is sweetened to your liking. Enjoy! Rusty's Chocolate Torte (the short version) 4 extra large eggs sweetener to equal 3/4 cups sugar 1 cup pecans 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 Tbs flour 2.5 tsp baking powder 3 Tbs cocoa powder BLEND (in blender) eggs and sweetener for 45 seconds. Add other ingredients IN THE ORDER LISTED. Blend 2 minutes. POUR into greased 9" round pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. this one sounds so good! EAT all of these on your loading days so it isn't left in the house for VLCDs Four Cheese Chicken Casserole 1 pound frozen broccoli spears 1 to 1 1/2 pound chicken cubes 8 ounces cream cheese 1/2 cup cream 1/4 cup water 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese 2 ounces Velveeta or processed American cheese 2 cups Monteray Jack shredded ... or more 1/4 cup prepared bacon bits Lightly steam broccoli spears. Spray a large casserole dish with nonstick spray. Add broccoli to the dish. Top with thawed Chicken Cubes. In a microwave safe bowl, combine cream cheese, cream, water and Velveeta. Cook on full power until mixture can be stirred smooth. Add Parmesan cheese, garlic and onion powders and salt. Pour the cream mixture over the vegetables and chicken. Sprinkle the shredded Jack cheese and bacon bits over the top. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. Let cool ten minutes before serving. ENJOY loading!

MARCI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
![]() ![]() Okay I am back to 240lbs, lost ...A stomach virus had me down to 239.8 then the next day when i was able to eat I regulated back to 242...now I'm .2 away from being back there. This was sort of a "lost week" for me, but it looks like I'm back on the losing side. Last edited by obraxton; 03-05-2010 at 08:03 AM.. |

Dawny congrats on your weight loss! I can't even imagine being 131, let alone 113, lol! Question, did you lose during your loading by doing low carb/high fat? I gorged on low carb pasta yesterday (creamy pesto, alfredo), and low carb chicken tenders w. cheese sauce, nuts, I was stuffed and I woke up feeling pretty flat this morning which is just mind boggling. I don't even know what I have a taste for today, I may have some buttery popcorn, although that's not low carb.

Haven't checked in much this week... But it's been a rough week.
I've stalled... Doing an apple day today. I have lost inches in the past few days though! It's just the weight hasn't released. In 14 days I've lost 8inches total. It IS totally reshaping me. So im still keeping the faith! Congrats Dawn!!! I don't know what I'd if I got that skinny! lol |
