After my first loading, I was 217 pounds. I did the protocol in phases up to May of 2009 and I lost over 60 pounds. I have been maintaining between 149(LDW) and 156 since last year. I am now starting a new round with the hubby. I am currently loading and will start VLCD #1 either tomorrow or Friday. My goal is to reach somewhere in the 130s which I have never been in my whole adult life. I would like this to be officially my last round and not have to do two short rounds, but I'll see how things progress.

If any newbies to HCG have any questions, I will happy to help out if I can. I did sublingual for the 60 pounds that I lost, but I decided to do HHCG for this round with the hubs. I'm not that familiar with HHCG, but I decided to try it because of all the success stories.
I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. The old thread was a great motivator and I'm happy that this thread(topic) is still going strong!
Wow, you have done great!!! I've done the hhcg and have had awesome results as well. I don't experience any hunger and I can tell that the hcg is working immediately. I use the spray this round but my first round I used the drops.

When I used the drops I actually just kept them in the inside zipper of my purse. I figured it's dark and cool in there!

I decided to research this and have been reading the book POUNDS AND INCHES [about half way through it, dang it is LONG!], reading all the posts I can find here and reading articles and watching youtube vids about it!

I'm about 99% sure I'm gonna go for it and have tentatively decided on April 8 to start. Seems it takes a lot of planning and preparation and I still haven't found where I want to purchase the drops or spray. What's the diff, anyone know? Would a 'kit' be best since I've never done this before? It program seems quite detailed and exact and I don't want to screw it up.

I've got over 100lbs to lose which will be a long journey and many 'rounds'. If anyone has lost or is losing that amount of weight, I'd love to hear about it.

So, just lurking and learning for now and saying HELLO!

Marci
Hi Marcy! I can tell you that I used the drops for my first round and the spray for this round. By far I like the spray better. I keep it in my nightstand and dose as soon as I wake up and then when I get home from work. You only have to dose 2 times a day. With the drops it's 3 times a day and I would sometimes forget at work if became busy. They both work equally well though - to me the spray was just more convenient.

Also, there really isn't that much preparation to do this! Just go on one good grocery shopping and you'll be ready. I can even supply you a list:

3 lb. bag of chicken breast tenders (frozen)
95-97% lean ground meat
steak
tilapia/cod
shrimp
crab meat
eggs ( I use on occasion)

asparagus
lettuce
tomatoes
onions
radishes

strawberries (frozen or fresh)
apples
grapefruit

melba toast
grissini

Also, you'll want to get yourself so yummy herbal teas - they keep your mouth and mind busy!

Good luck and I'm glad you decided to do this!!!

Awesome! You're gonna LOVE your results. As for make-up, I bought some foundation that is oil-free and natural. You can use blush, eyeliner, lip gloss too. You can find lots of oil-free, natural make-up even at Wal-mart - just check the ingredients.

How much did you gain during your load days? I'm on P2D1 today and I'm up 2 lbs from the loading days so I'm anxious to see what tomorrow holds. About to go have my apple!

Today was my first weigh in day. I weighed before I started and then today...so heck could have lost more then if I had gained from my load.

Dawn, You're success is great! I'm looking forward for this round, because I have major issues with my arms. I hold a lot of weight in the arms(genetic). I am hoping this will be one of the main places that gets reshaped.
Congrats!

Hello guys,
I have released 1.6 today and it's my VLCD#4 and I'm pumped up. about the make-up, I use bare mineral and it works fine with me. Nuetrogena has oil-free lotion works fine cause my sister uses them.

"As long as their weight stays within two pounds of the weight reached on the day of the last injection, patients should take no notice of any increase but the moment the scale goes beyond two pounds, even if this is only a few ounces, they must on that same day entirely skip breakfast and lunch but take plenty to drink. In the evening they must eat a huge steak with only an apple or a raw tomato."
Thanks.

----------------
40winks
Start weight: 262.2
Last Day Weight: 233.8
Now in Phase 3

40winks~ Your last injection/dose weight (LIW/LDW) is your weight the morning of your last dose day. Then you do either 48 hours (hhcg) or 72 hours (injections) with no dosing but still following the vlcd. The hhcg takes 48 hours to get out of our system and the injections take 72 hours. You use you LIW/LDW to figure out your 2 pound window. Say your LDW was 235 pounds, then you lose another 2 pounds in those final vlcd's. You use the 235 pounds as your LDW, so you window for P3 is from 233-237 pounds. I think Dr. Simeons did this so you have more cushion from your final vlcd's. If you go above the 237 pounds, you need to do a steak day or some kind of correction day, or strict P3 until you get back within your window. If you go below 233 pounds you need to up your calories and get back within your window. This is when your hypothalamus is resetting and it's very important to stay within that window. Good Luck and I hope I didn't confuse you!

I'm just curious...

Have any of you lost more than 34 pounds in your first round and had to stop per Dr. Simeons protocol?

Also, I get that rounds are how many times you do the 23 or 40 days, but what are you guys referring to when you say phases? Or P1, P2, etc.

Thanks!!!

Phase 1 - 2 Loading Days
Phase 2 - 500 Calorie Days (VLCDs - Very Low Calorie Days)
Phase 3 - No sugar/ No starch - 3 weeks
Phase 4 - Maintenance - adding back sugars/starches

For example, if someone says R1P2VLCD#3, they are in Round 1 and on Very Low Calorie Day #3 (Phase 2). Once you learn it it's like second nature!

That's right except for phase 1. The "phases" actually come from Trudeau's book, which I think most people wouldn't really recommend reading (mostly advertisements) but the phase terminology does come in handy. Phase 1 was also Trudeau's idea. It was basically a month-long cleanse. Almost nobody does that, so no worries.

Oh - I'm willing to bet that some guys have hit that mark of 34 lbs, but most women wouldn't. I don't know if they stop at that point or not. I bet some do, some don't. I seem to lose about 30-35 lbs in a long round, which is actually really good. My tough part is the maintenance because I'm not as good about watching my weight for fluctuations as I should be, and my normal eating habits are terrible and that's been hard for me to break. The protocol has at least made me much more aware of them, which is helping me to learn to do better.

Oh we go much further back than january. Just do a search across all threads for the term "hcg".

We were one giant thread for awhile before somebody decided we'd be better off with a monthly thread. I don't recall who, but it was a good idea. There's a hcg-friendly recipe thread too.

Hello Marci ~ there is a February thread....the HCG thread started all the way back in early 2009! It has taken me since December to read all of the threads and I'm still only up to last November But you learn so much from all of the threads from last year.

The older threads are out there. You'll actually do better if you search using the term "Simeons Protocol". You'll get fewer hits so it will be easier to go through them.

hey guys,

I'm so excited to be joining this group again. I brought some drops in January to start, but with tons of social events and starting a workout program, it would've been sabotage to try and do VLC for me. I'm doing my first loading day today, and I'm stuffed already. I've been stuck on the scale for a while, b/c I'm not a good dieter, but I'd love to finally lose this last 20lbs, and readjust my hypothalamus so I won't crave 'bad' foods.
