Can I take a diuretic during P2? Any suggestions on helping with water retention? I feel like I'm about to pop! On the brighter side I'm down 0.6 today. But my body water % is up 1 percent so TOM is lurkin

Are taking food requests? If so eat some Hot Wings from KFC for me and some cheesecake LOL! Sounds like you are off to a good start!

I gained 5.2lbs during my load, but I loaded for 3 instead of 2 days. Gaining weight is a good sign that you've loaded correctly and enough. But I can understand how you feel........I almost fainted when I saw I gained 5.2 and my body fat increased by like 2%

I don't know about diuretics, but on the yahoo groups they have suggested a tea that aids in water retention. I actually got some and followed the directions on the box and it did not effect me. I then reasoned that my weight gain was not due to water retention!! The tea is called "Weightless Cranberry" and the company is Traditional Medicinals. I bought it at Kroger, they have a great "Natural foods" section, but you may also find it at a health food store. I always prefer something natural over a "drug".

You really need to push the fats. Go for some cheesecake, cheese, macadamia nuts. My favorite loading foods--chocolate covered nuts. They were fabulous. And I had to hide the jar from my family!! Finished the whole darn jar myself and could have finished another if I had bought it!!! High fat is better than high carb!! On one of my rounds I ate an entire half of a chocolate cheesecake that I made with sugar sub. so it was low carb, not high carb!!! Enjoy some foods you will miss during the P2--have some broccoli smothered in bacon and cheese. Drown your salads in real dressing. Drown some popcorn in butter!!!! Hope this gives you some great ideas!!!

I am having such a head-issue this round even getting started. I don't know what my problem is. I've false started or almost started several times, and today I was going to restart. I went to go do my shot at least 2x and somehow between getting up to go do it and actually doing it I managed to forget to do it.... Seriously, I don't know what my problem is... I was going to start round 3 in January initially, didn't go to the doctor til February, and its now March.... Here's to a better tomorrow...

Oh yeah - tomorrow better be better. TOM is closing in and if I don't start very soon I'll have to wait til after... I swear though, I almost feel a panic attack coming on sometimes thinking about it. Head issues. I so need to just get a routine started and stop thinking about it.

Hey! I'm also 5'2"......and yes my clothes were ridiculosly tight after loading. I felt like a stuffed pig! But I lost my load weight in the first 2 days......so I was ok.

Oh Dawn ! you have done fabulous I am very happy for you . I hope you can find a way to post a new pic ,of the new YOU !.

My guess, is you will be in that size 5 and off to town ,after P4 just remember when your not losing weight your losing inches with HCG.
I dropped a lot of inches when I when into P3 and P4, I am sure you will also.

Daily check-in

Good morning All. Today is R3P4D7, and my weight is 180.4 lbs., a lb. less than yesterday. Yesterday I ate 2421 calories, walked 2.8 miles. I'm pretty happy with the loss. Tomorrow I think I'll add my oatmeal (that will take the place of my eggs), but I think I'll still have to force down the bacon to keep my fats up. Gotta go now.

Everyone have a great and INTENTIONAL day

I know what you mean. I was going to start on the new years day but it didnt' happen. I couldn't get into routine and gained all the weigh I took off on November. I'm on my VLCD#3 and third day is always hard for me but I will stay and finish this round strong. stop thinking, start doing cause you have nothing t lose except weights!!!!!

P1D2....I'm trying to learn the lingo! After all the food I ate yesterday - which I still can't believe I actually ate that much - I only gained 1/2 lb. I still don't fully understand how this works, and I'm a teensy bit nervous about the rest of it, but I'm excited, too. I travel on the weekends and sing in a gospel trio which usually means lots of church dinners, but I'm just going to go prepared with my own. Its crazy to think that in 30 days I could actually be 15-20 lbs lighter!

On my first round, I actually lost 2 pounds on my loading day and my 2nd loading day, I again a pound back that I lost during the first loading day. This diet works because HCG aactually burn your abnormal fat and even when you're eating only 500 calories, you are actually getting 1500-400 calories from HCg so you won't feel weak like other diets. You might want to read Dr. Simeon Protcol "Pounds and Inches" if you have not. I read it four times.

a couple of tips for our newbies

Quote:
Tip #1

Be committed to at least a clean, by the book, first Round on P2 protocol. Commit to 23 days maximum, even if you feel like you need to do a longer 40 day round.

Committing to just 3 weeks instead of 6 makes this protocol much easier to stick with. Mark it off on your calendar. 3 weeks. After your initial 3 weeks, take it day by day and really check in with how you feel. It is okay to only do 25 days or 33 days or anything in between 23 days and 40 days.

It is the first 3 weeks that are critical to your long-term success. Everyday after is just icing on the cake.

Do not concern yourself with what others are doing. This isn't a contest. This is solely about YOU.
Quote:
Tip #2

Plan out your menu on a weekly basis.

Prior to starting go to the store and buy your food supplies, just like you would any other supplies that you use on this protocol. Come up with a weekly menu.

Precut and precook as much of your menu items as you possibly can. I have cooked for an entire round at once. By that I mean, I make 4-6 servings of a particular dish and freeze most of it and put the rest in the fridge so that I can grab and go.

This will save you during those moments when you are too tired to cook or just in too much of a hurry.

Even if you can't cook everything, portion it out and freeze it so you can pull it out and thaw relatively easily and without much effort.

Be PREPARED.
Quote:
Tip #3

Set small goals that you can easily achieve so that you get a sense of achievement everyday or every couple of days.

It is motivating to be able to reach and or exceed your goals and expectations. Sometimes looking at your progress for 20-30 pounds is much easier on the brain than looking at 70,80,100 pounds. In other words bite off small chunks.
Average loss in 23 days is about 15 pounds. Make your goal 13. Average loss in 40 days is 34 or so pounds. Make your goal 25-30 pounds.
Quote:
Tip # 4

Expect days of no loss, small loss and slight gains. This is a very normal part of this protocol. In the hundreds of journeys of other people that I have read, NOT ONE person experienced huge losses EVERYDAY while on protocol.
YOU will be NO different. It is NORMAL. DO NOT FREAK OUT!!!!! Stay true to protocol and you will clock good losses as soon as your body has either recovered from working so hard and shedding HUGE losses or your cells release the water with which your body fills up empty fat cells.
The cycle seems to be about every 7-10 days, your body will need a period of rest to reset and get ready to work hard again releasing unwanted fat and pounds and inches.
Once again, DO NOT FREAK OUT!!!!! It is normal. You are normal. The protocol is STILL working.

i am down .6 this morning .6 more and i am back to my LDW of round 2!!

Have any of you had a hard time even just eating the amount of food we get? Today for lunch I had my orange, 100g of chicken breast I grilled and 1 melba toast. I couldn't finish my chicken. That was strange for me!

last night sure made me realize how much of a "habit" eater I am too. I wasn't hungry at all...but kept going into the kitchen for "something" to eat while watching tv. (but I didn't eat anything!!)

Hey girls,
just wondering if any of you have ever heard of a "transition day" between p2 and p3?

I am glad you resisted the temptations!! When I get peckish like that I go for a cup of hot tea. It satisfies my tummy and is something hot to hold in my hands! And yes, there were some days where I found it difficult to eat everything!!

I believe it is where you eat eggs for breakfast and then P2 foods in P2 quantities for the rest of the day. While I have heard of it I have obviously never done it!!!

Dawn's update

I have to let you all know about my scale this morning. I jumped on it and it said 112!!!! I was wondering how in the world I lost 3 pounds since yesterday especially since I went out to eat at Outback last night and had a steak. I then jumped on it 2 more times and it said 113. So my weight today is 113. I have a great cushion for when I start P3 tomorrow at 9AM. I am psyched to say the least!!!! Happy Wed. Off to the dentist for my little one after getting my kids off to a late start day due to the snow we had last night. Yes, it snowed again here in SC!!! It must be a new record!! Twice in one winter!!!!
