Yeah I know its different with each person...just curious if those of you who have been successful were able to eat it. Care to share how you seasoned it?

You mentioned cutting out the bread helped...are you talking about the melba toast? What are you typically eating every day now? You seem to be successful at it too so I'm just curious what's working for everyone. Sorry if that's too nosey!
I will give you (again!) one of my P2 menus. I don't limit my salt as per my doctor--I have adrenal fatigue and one of the "symptoms" is low blood pressure. She encourges me to add salt to my food!! So, I use sea salt on everything--and liberally! I use Stevia liquid as my sweetener in my hot cups of tea as the supplier of my Hhcg said it cuts appetite. I also use Splenda in my ice tea, when I make it by the half gallon. In my coffee I use saccharin, I believe. None of these things has given me any adverse effects. After doing 3 rounds I have lost a total of 40 pounds!!!!!!

Here is one from 2/12 where after eating this I lost 1.4 pounds:

9:30 Breakfast: 1 melba; 1/2 grapefruit
2:15 Lunch: 3.5 oz crab meat; spinach chips (recipe in the sticky)
6:45 Dinner: 3.5 oz ground beef; 1 onion; 1 melba toast; 7 strawberries

This is what else I had: 2 cups of coffee; 2 cups sugar cookie tea; 2 cups of ice tea (splenda sweetened); 2 liters water

Exercise: walk the dog--20 mins

Here is another from 2/13:

10 Breakfast: 1 melba; 1/2 grapefruit
3 Lunch: 3.5 oz shrimp; 1/2 large English cucumber
6:45 Dinner: 1 Melba with Walden Farms apricot spread (yummy!!); 3.5 oz chicken; spinach (1/2 bag); strawberries

I also had: 2 cups of coffee; 2 cups of hot vanilla chai tea; 2 liters of water.

I did not walk the dog today, but did work at Starbucks where I do move around a bit. Not much, but a bit of movement! Anyhoo, I lost 1.4 the day after this menu too!!

I have boiled it and then drank the water I boiled it in!! I treated it as kind of a soup! That was the round I was starving in and wanted to be full!!! Thought the nutrients in the water would be good for me! My standard seasonings: salt, garlic powder and onion powder.

I have also had it fried. Put a bit of water in the pan and fry it up! Again add seasonings as above, but I have also added soy sauce to have a little flavor. I have also on another occasion added Braggs liquid aminos. These are little additions that not everyone approves of--but remember my doctor doesn't want me restricting salt so I did it!! And I added so little that I don't think it mattered too much. Just enough so that it would not be plain!

here are a couple of good recipes (it was me that stalled but my DH lost beautifully with it) i will post these in the sticky too the mock egg roll is already there

Quote:
Steamed Cabbage

# cabbage (allowed amount)
# juice of half lemon
# 1/2 t spicy mustard
# salt/pepper (to taste)
1. Place cabbage in steamer. Cover and steam 5-10 mins, until slightly tender.
2. In small bowl, combine spicy mustard and lemon juice.
3. Place cabbage in bowl. Add lemon/mustard mix and toss.
4. Sprinkle with salt/pepper.
5. Serve immediately.
TIP: If you have no steamer available, simply place & cover a strainer/colander over a pot of boiling water.
Quote:
Albóndigas Soup

# 1 serving meatballs
# 2-3 c beef or chicken broth
# 100g-200g bok choy, onion, or cabbage
# fresh chopped cilantro
# seasonings to taste

1. In saucepan, bring broth to boil.
2. Feel free to add any seasonings you like to taste (oregano, basil, pepper, garlic, etc). I'll usually add in some hot sauce or tabasco as well.
3. Add cooked meatballs, vegetable choice.
4. Cover & simmer 20-30 minutes or until vegetables reach desired tenderness.
5. Top with fresh chopped cilantro.
6. Serve.
i think i put the meatball recipe in the sticky already too
Quote:
Shrimp Fried "Rice"

# 100g shrimp
# 200g cabbage
# 4 T homemade broth
# 1/2 t onion powder
# 1/2 t garlic powder (or use fresh minced, if available)
# 1 1/2 t Bragg Liquid Aminos
# black pepper (to taste)
# red pepper flakes (optional)

1. Preheat pan over MED-HI heat.
2. Finely shred cabbage in food processor.
3. Add cabbage, 2 T broth, and 1/2 t Bragg Liquid Aminos to pan.
4. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes just until slightly tender.
5. Remove cabbage and place on serving dish. Sprinkle with fresh black pepper.
6. Turn heat down to MED.
7. Add shrimp, 2 T broth, onion powder, garlic, and 1 t Bragg Liquid Aminos.
8. Stir fry shrimp until they curl up & turn pink.
9. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes. (optional)
10. Serve immediately over cabbage.

TIP: You can alter the amount of broth and Bragg Liquid Aminos to your personal taste. You can also use water instead of broth. It's used mainly to keep the food from completely sticking while stir-frying. You may find you can do without the water/broth totally.

Don't expect the cabbage to taste like rice. But it has a great crunch and tenderness all at the same time, and goes really great with the shrimp. Really filling and tasty. Enjoy!

# 1 T onion powder
# 1/2 t celery seed

1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Store in air-tight container.

TIP: This is wonderful to use dry in your ground steak for hamburgers, etc. It's an easy way to perk it up.

Well, just got back from the store. SO weird looking at the breadstick and melba toast cause the FIRST thing I checked was carbs .... DOH, it's BREAD! The melba toast was like $4 for a tiny box of 12 and the wasa bread, which came in many varieties, was a bit less for twice the amount so I'm going with that. I've read many posts that these are ok for substitution. Didn't find grisini bread sticks but found some other Italian brand plain ones so went with those.

Got a bag of honeycrisp apples and a bag of fuji apples, two red grapefruit and yes, the DREADED ORANGES!!! haha After being on Atkins Induction for seven weeks, these will be a real TREAT for me!

Got my ice cream for this weekend's loading too. I saw all the Easter candy out but I kept reminded myself that loading is high FAT not high SUGAR. Although I just might have to down a candy bar too!

The countdown begins!!

P.S. Yeah, I'll also be doing Atkins 2002 for my 'low carb/low sugar' period in between the rounds. It works well for me and I can live with it forever, even though the well dropped very slow with it. I'll probably have to do at least four rounds of 40 days to lose over 100lbs!! Having visions of 'skinny me' dancing in my head!

Quote:
Mock Shake 'n Bake

# 1/2 c minced dehydrated onions
# 1/4 t coriander
# 1/4 t thyme
# 1/4 t red pepper flakes
# 1/8 t oregano
# 1/8 t paprika
# 1/8 t black pepper
# 1/8 t salt

1. Place all ingredients in food processor or coffee grinder.
2. Grind to a powder.
3. Store in air-tight container.

Thanks for all those terrific recipes. I completely plan on making myself a little booklet!

Question..I haven't really read on any of these threads on whether any of you use that 1 tablespoon of milk that you are allowed. I love my coffee every morning and already use liquid splenda. Right now I use half and half but have no problem using milk instead. I guess my question would be, should it be fat free or is 2% okay? I always buy 2% for my OH. Does anyone on here use milk?

Kerri

When I first started out I bought skim because I thought we had to. It went bad in like 2 days because 1 TBL is not a lot!! My family uses whole and when I learned that Dr S did NOT specify in his P&I which type of milk, I used what I already had on hand!! You can use 2% and will be fine. 1 TBL does NOT go a long way!!

You're welcome! And no bother! If you search all the old threads you will find I have posted more menus for P3 as well. When I first started my hcg journey I scoured all the old threads on here I could. I wrote down everything I thought I could use. I wrote down loading day ideas, recipe ideas for P2, even good ideas for P3 and beyond.....everything I thought I could use in the future. Barbara (Ragdoll) has given some really good ideas. Diana (DeeDee) did also. Did you see her comment on the loading days? When she could no longer chew she "ate" an entire bag of Kisses because she could just suck on them!! Wow!!! She has put me to shame with loading! But she was also the one who mentioned that she did nothing but chicken for one of her rounds and lost well with it. Lots of good info in those past posts. I even learned what skin care to use from Barbara. But I like Deb's idea better---copy and paste!! Can you tell I am not computer literate??

Sweetie

Those 7 pounds will be gone in your first week!! I can guarantee it! Now you get those low carb/low calorie thoughts out of your head. This is NOT a low carb plan, it is a low fat and low calorie plan and works as prescribed. And as for the Wasa---they may stall you. Best to stick with the original plan. Use the grissini or melba. I am a stickler for the original P&I and I stick to it. You will see me get on here and say "You need to follow the original P&I". That is the ONLY way to do it. If you tweak, you will NOT maximize your results. That is what kept me going every single day. And trust me I had the R2 from h***!!!! But I got through it, just like y'all will!! And after loading you should welcome those clean, VLC eating days. Very much so!!! Have great fun loading!!!! And go ahead and have a candy bar, just don't be like me and feel guilty about it!

Deb

You are right! I have my P2 info in a folder right here next to my bedside. I have forms that I printed out for my daily food checklist to make sure I ate all my choices. I also wrote down my weight for the day as well as kept tabs on my water intake. This is all important info to keep on hand. Lindy has provided for us a weight tracker for P2. I hope y'all can find it and use it. It is very helpful as you move through P2! Just do a search for "weight tracker" and it should pop up. Everyone who has used it has said how motivating it was.

Unfortunately there are some things you don't want to lose!!! My boobs are about non-existent right now As if they were small enough before the weight loss Thank goodness for push ups!!!! And my butt has gotten so small. I wanted to keep a little bit of it, but oh well. You have to sacrifice!

1/4 cup water
3 Tbs artificial sweetner of choice or a pinch of stevia
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/8 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbs cider vinegar
Mix all ingredients together.
Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
Shake well before each use.
Keeps 2 - 3 weeks.
with the addition of a little horseradish this would be wonderful for shrimp or other seafood
just be sure it is just the horseradish not the sauce!

That got me thinking Dawn...wonder if there is an app like that for my iphone to track everything and keep recipes! So I went and looked and there is! But I am going to have to do some research on them first before I download one on my phone. Some of those apps are expensive. I used an app on there called iloseit for awhile to track my food. It was so easy and nice to have and I would love to have something on their to track for this too. I'm rather notorious for writing things down on paper and then losing the paper which is why I would much rather put it into a computer or my phone.

You mentioned cutting out the bread helped...are you talking about the melba toast? What are you typically eating every day now? You seem to be successful at it too so I'm just curious what's working for everyone. Sorry if that's too nosey!
My meal is the same every day, i have to warn you...mostly out of choice.

Breakfast: maybe tea, if not then water

Snack: Strawberries

Lunch: Grilled chicken on bed of romain lettuce and vinegar (or walden farm dressing)

Dinner: Grilled fish marinated in walden farm bbq sauce/ salt/pepper/red pepper flake...a green veggie (prefer collard) or large cucumber or salad

Snack : Strawberries
Water and seltzer water

I have 4 rounds too! We can be each other's support beams during all of this!! I love the "40 days", don't you!

Yes, I am amazed at the lack of bra backfat I now have!!! My band size is now comfortable, just have to clip it shorter. I am a bit disappointed that my cup size went down. But thank goodness for no more bra overhang anywhere!!! Oh, and the underwear!! Nothing I had fits quite right any longer now. Wow that went down many sizes too. Just bought a bunch since I am not planning on losing anymore. I am done!! Doner than done!! No more p2 for this girl!!
