I decided to go back to school a few years ago, and I am now in my last semester of Nursing School...I am so excited to graduate in May and want to be looking and feeling my best for all the great things that lie ahead!

Today if my 1st VLCD for R2. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you better!

Have a wonderful afternoon,

I soooo wish I'd gone to nursing school a few years ago. I turned 50 this year and just dont think I have the mental stamina now! lol

P2D5 - I only lost .2 this morning and was very disappointed (I know...its a loss, be happy) and then I remembered that I completely forgot to take my drops before dinner last night. Do you think that may have had anything to do with it??? Other than that I've been squeaky clean and drinking nearly 100 oz of water. I hope hope hope I'm not slowing down to a stall or plateau already!?!?

I agree with Dawn, how well did you load? I have never had any hunger using either the drops or spray. Are you activating the bottle before you put the drops under your tongue or spray? You have to hit the bottom of the bottle on your palm 10 times before using. Also, did you put the bottle near any kind of electronic/computer? The homeopathic works magnetically and sitting it near any electronics can ruin it. If you are still hungry in a day or two I would think the hhcg isn't working because you should not feel any hunger. Or, if you didn't load well it make take 3-5 days for the hunger to go away.

Y'up, on my bottle it says to spray 2 times per day at the same time each day. Also, when the scale isn't moving the inches usually are! Maybe you could post your menu from yesterday including food, spices, drinks, lotions, etc. We could all diagnose and make sure nothing off-protocol is in there. Garlic salt stalled me for an entire week because I didn't know it had High Fructose corn syrup in it!!!

I didn't know that about tapping the bottle...learn something new every day! Okay, here's what I ate yesterday:

6:00 - bottle of water
6:30 - 12 oz coffee (black)
7:30 - .5 HCG
8:00 - Sobe 0 cal drink
9:00 - green apple and another bottle of water
10:30 - melba toast (1 slice)
11:00 - .5 HCG
11:30 - 3 oz grilled chicken tenders with Mrs. Dash (checked bottle - no sugars listed), 1-1/2 cup green beans sprinkled with Mrs. Dash and another bottle of water
1:00 - bottle of water
3:00 - bottle of water (these are 18 oz bottles by the way)
5:00 - bottle of water
7:00 - (after totally forgetting to take my drops...didn't even think about it until this morning) 3 oz ground turkey (all white and cooked on George Foreman so it was as dry as a bone) and 2 cups steamed broccoli and another bottle of water, followed by an orange

If you see anything I'm overlooking, please yell!!

Hi everyone - thanks so much for the advice. Yes I'm taking homeopathic. Yes I'm activating the formula. Yes I loaded properly I've been drinking hot tea like nobody's business, because it's the only thing keeping me sane. I did read in my instruction book that a very small number of people will experience hunger...perhaps that was me.

On a positive note, yesterday afternoon it seems to have turned a bit, and there was a marked decrease in hunger, and I wasn't as tired. I did up my drops yesterday (I noticed that it said take 3 drops 3-6 times as needed...and I had only been taking it three times/day, so yesterday I upped it to the 6X. Have no idea if that helped, or if it was just time. Either way, I really appreciate all the advice and encouragement.

Green beans and broccoli are NOT on the list of allowed veggies!! Re-read P&I. I never touched broccoli in any of my rounds. AND turkey is NOT on the list either. If it is not on the list don't eat it!!! You definitely need to re-read P&I. You can do this the way it is written. If it is not working for you with doing it with the tweaks, then follow the original. It works, I promise--it really does!!!

Okay, I see some things that are not protocol

1. Sobe drink - not protocol
2. green beans - not protocol
3. ground turkey - not protocol
4. broccolli - not protocol
5. oranges - not protocol

Most of us follow "Pounds & Inches" by Dr. Simeons very strictly. You might want to google and download it for free. There are some "new" versions of the original protocol but it's my opinion to follow Dr. Simeons. All of those foods were there when he tested the protocol and he didn't use them for a reason. Where did you get your list of foods?

Great news!!! When I did the drops I took 10 drops, 3 times per day. You want to stay around 125 iu/day and test from there. If I took too much I would get very hungry - so more doesn't always mean less hunger.

Gracie suggested to me to stop using the Mrs. Dash when I was at an impass and hungry b/c some people stalled. Started using just s/p garlic, and my personal fav red pepper flakes and started to feel much better. My Mrs. D was zero sugar too but I do notice a difference. Also for me, I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not, the one day I ate green beans I gained I havent done brocolli. On an FB site, "turkey" is the million dollar question, I don't think for protocol it interacts well, I think the most I've heard about it's effect is that it makes one hungrier. I do 4 oz of meat per meal.

It's soo worth it...just keep that in mind!

Haven't read P&I but I'll do that today. I bought my homeopathic drops (can't say where) and it came with a list of allowable foods. All of the things I ate are on that list with the exception of the Sobe drink, but people on their Facebook group said those were okay. I'll cut those out today for sure. I'll go download P&I now for their approved list....dang it!

I can certainly do without Mrs. Dash if she's the culprit! Last night is the first time I've had the turkey so not sure if it was that or the fact that I forgot the drops. I'm definitely going to research the veggies and oranges now. I would be fine eating an apple twice a day if that will help. I can't eat any red meat because of a liver condition, so I was hoping the turkey would be a nice alternative to just chicken, but if it needs to be chicken, so be it. I do appreciate everyone's advice!!!

My book said the same thing as well. Well acutally it had the list of Simeon Protocol foods, but there was another list of veggies to try but to remove them immediately if they caused a stall or gain, and brocolli was included. Admitedly, some people on FB do lose very well with adjustments and some do much better strictly following protocol. I still lost doing "tweaks" but I notice remarkably that I fare much better the next day when I follow "P&I). If anything, I may omit a fruit serving and toast (b/c I know my body's reactions to any type of sugar), but i won't add. (that's just me, not giving advice)

Can you eat fish, shrimp, or crab? Those are all allowed. Also, I sometimes eat 1 whole egg with 3 egg whites or low-fat cottage cheese if I'm tired of meat.

But, per Dr. Simeons in P&I, you can eliminate any foods if you just don't want to eat them. He does want you to at least eat you proteins each day. So you were actually still following the protocol correctly.

I did eat fish night before last and I had shrimp once since starting. Not a fan of crab.

Just printed off P&I, so I'll try sticking with that and eliminating the Sobe drinks for a few days and see if the weight loss kicks back up....here's hoping!

Ugh...I started yesterday and it looks like I'll get TOM tomorrow. I don't want to stop and waste my drops...

I guess I'll just power through and hope it goes okay. I'm preparing myself for a little more hunger, maybe...???

Any other recommendations?

Nicole, can't argue with you for your decision to charge on through. I really hope that it makes no difference and that you lose anyway with no ill effects d/t TOM. I would ony say monitor the first couple days and see if you notice anything significant? Best wishes to you!

They are listed in my book that came with my drops, and I just some more Sunday, but I'm sure going to eliminate them for a few days and see what happens...along with green beans, broccoli and turkey! I want this to work, dad gum it!!

No, it absolutely does NOT!!!! Google the original manuscript "Pounds & Inches" by Dr. Simeons. You may have an "updated" version by someone else - probably who you got the hcg from. I have a copy of the original protocol and the allowed fruits are apples, strawberries, and 1/2 grapefruit.

So...looking ahead...

What type of eating plan, lifestyle, does everyone plan to adopt and maintain by, say, sixth months after you're finished with HCG and have maintained your goal?

I know that everything is supposed to be "reset" like sensitivities, metabolism, etc. But, what do you think about that? Or, what have you seen in others who have been finished for a while?

Thx!

Well, gosh darn how are we supposed to know what to do with updates and such??? I am going shopping this afternoon and was ready to dive into some oranges!!

The P&I I got was a free pdf download from an HCG website. There is no date on it. Should I just toss my P&I ???? SHEESH!!

LOL...I feel your pain! I was eating right out of the book that came with my drops, but apparently it has relaxed some of the protocol. Maybe its different for everyone, but I don't want to waste a day of doing this.

I think (stress think because I honestly don't know) that I'm supposed to do pretty strict low-carb for 3 weeks after discontinuing the drops (???) and then gradually start adding in other things as long as my weight doesn't go out of the 2 lbs above or 2 lbs below range?

It's not "Pounds & Inches" that you have, is it? You probably have some kind of hcg guide from the hcg supplier. Google "Pounds & Inches" by Dr. Simeons and you can download it for FREE!!! You can follow the guide that you have but most of us follow "P&I" as written. It's really not that big of a deal

I agree - I do short rounds so I figure that I want to do it exactly right for the 23 days. Why try and cheat myself?

Phase 3 is no sugar and no starches for 3 weeks. It's not low-carb. This is also in "P&I". You can have your fruits (no bananas), veggies, meats, sugar-free chocolate, sugar-free whatever. Cream cheese muffins are awesome as well as pumpkin bake w/splenda. You just can't have starches or sugar. Then Phase 4 you start adding things back in slowly. Like maybe add a banana in and see how your body reacts.

Yes, it's the POUNDS & INCHES by Dr. Simeons in pdf format. I also copied it to a doc format. I also got a copy of the diet with my drops and it's the same! Perhaps this IS the update and the OLD diet lacked oranges?
