Dizzy, what a substantial release for VLCD 1

Barbara, sounds like a good plan for 2010!

I just want to thank everyone who contributes this board for being such a great support for those who declare themselves and countless more like me who haven't. So many of you have been a source of comfort and inspiration to me and I have seen my thoughts and concerns reflected in your posts.

Anyway, for the new year I have decided to jump on in!

I've done two rounds of Rx HCG. The first was 23 days but after a trip to Mexico one week after starting P3 I gained most back and so since it had only been 14 days since my LIW I called it an interruption and started VLCD again immediately and lost the weight again plus a little more. When I started P3 again I really struggled with stabilizing. I took advice offered on another message boards and started eating lots of avocados and other foods which I later found out I was allergic to (blood test). The advice was also to not immediately correct at 2lbs but see if changing foods, eating raw etc would bring the weight back down. Anyway, this led to a second round and this time I fared much better with stabilization after following the tips and advice shared on this board as well as learning from what many of you were trying and being successful with. I never went more than 1.6 lbs over my LIW of 115.8. When I started adding back starches in P4 I've had to do some correction days. Egg days work better for me than steak days - can usually count on a 2.5lb loss, steak days are around 1.6 - 1.8lbs.

Last night we had dinner out and I think I ate more carbs than I have in the past year put together! Ravioli appetizer, lasagne main course, gingerbread pudding with ice cream for dinner, chocolate and cheese! I fully expected to be 3-4 lbs up this morning but was only up .2. - perhaps the gain will show up tomorrow. I woke up this morning with a very puffy looking face and feeling like I had a hangover! Yuch! I did an egg day today (mostly) so hopefully it will mitigate the damage a little.

After eating out at friends and friends of friends many times over the holidays and not wanting to offend the hostesses I am about 5lbs over LIW - over the next week I will alternate correction days and P3 eating to see if I can get back down. If not I am thinking about doing another round - this time with HHCG.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

-C
Candy. Glad to have you on board. Thanks for sharing your HCG story with us. Here's to successful correction days and getting back within you LIW so that you won't have to do another round.

New Territory

Yippee...new numbers on the scales...gotta love it!!! Today I am headed out to see what the Habitat store has for my Hawaii trip... found myself verrrry limited on summer clothes that fit...big pile to take to store!!! Great news is that with 19' temp and snow most folks won't be in the summer clothes section, so I am feeling really good about my "finds". Have been getting all my stuff ready to pack...gees I am going to have a suitcase full of gadgets: camera, laptop (gotta stay up with you folks), scales (food & mine), binoculars (whale watching), snorkel gear. Got all my HCG laid out..it goes in first...everything else takes a second position. Found a nifty insulated lunch bag that I will carry my full days 500 food in...no excuses for not staying 100% Intentional.
Have a great day.

Congrats Bob...gotta love that new territory. Yep looked at my records and see that this is "slow down" time on this round for me also. But do not know of any other way to lose at this rate. HCG is the best .. AND we have to give ourselves big, big hugs for choosing to be 100% INTENTIONAL and then doing it!!!!

Just want to thank DOTTIE for the spreadsheet for weight loss....I downloaded a couple of months ago.

Where is she, by the way?? For the newbies.....I'm not sure where you can find it now....but I LOVE getting up in the morning and entering my new weight on the spreadsheet.

Dizzy...Not sure what GLEE is??? HA! But my name is Suzanne and my husband thought I was a little "spunky" like his favorite spice, pepper. Alas, he put the two words together and for the last 15 years I have had the nickname suzypepper! By the way...You sure travel alot and have a lot of fun! I'm always a little envious of your next expedition! Being a teacher, I travel on winter break to Playa del Carmen for a week and then don't do much until summer.

What grade do you teach? I teach 3rd grade. Are you ready to head back on Monday? It is going to be hard to get up at 5:30 again...after sleeping in for two weeks. We have a "work day" on Monday...which is code for lots of food and meetings.

Suzy Pepper was a character on the show "Glee," which is about a high school glee club. She was obsessed with her teacher and when he didn't return her affections she ate a pepper so hot that she burned a hole in her esophagus
I love my getaways, but they do mess with protocol sometimes. I'm staying put until I do an overnight in NYC Jan 15/16. It will be good to have over 2 weeks of VLCD under my (much smaller) belt by then! I'd love to go somewhere warm in February or March...those are the longest, most gray months!!

Hi Bob. Yes, I know the temperature will be dropping, but I kinda like the change. I can open the windows in the house rather than use the AC. Bring some fresh air in here. Plus I enjoy getting some wear out of my sweaters and socks.

I am up from my goal of 135 due to my cheats yesterday so I'm hoping by Wednesday that extra water weight will be gone, gone, gone. That's the day I'm shooting for to be my last HCG day then Thursday and Friday the 500 cal days w/o the HCG. I would like to start P3 on Saturday.

Still 5 pounds over my LDW so I will exhale after that weight is gone and I'm into new territory. I think it's been 7-8 years since I've been the weight I'm going to be very soon.

to all the newcomers...you're in the right place!! Congrats on making the decision to stand for your body in 2010!
Off to another great start!! All that load weight will be gone before you know it!!

New Year's Day dessert pics

All,

These are Wayyyy off Protocol, but I wanted to share the desserts I prepared for my annual New Year's Day fish fry.

I found a recipe on Food Gawker for a red velvet cheesecake and made that. It was pretty good. I wasn't in "Da Bomb" category for me as far as taste goes, but it was still pretty delicious and it was all eaten. (The pumpkin cheesecake I made for Thanksgiving was in the "Da Bomb" category.) I also made my Southern Pecan Bundt cake. That is my favorite cake and it is really, really good.

I didn't get a chance to take a picture after they were sliced so I can only share pictures of the whole cakes.

Back to School on Tuesday!

We have inservice all day on Tuesday....Writing BIG QUESTIONS and relating them to state standards, of course

I teach 6th grade at a Middle School---Math 4 periods and Reading 1 period.
I have just began my 22nd year of teaching 6th graders....I still find them refreshing and fun most of the time! The other....well....they are at that "weird" stage! HA!!

It is so much easier to do the program at school, isn't it? I have to stay away from the teacher's lounge....everyone will bring their goodies from home because we are all dieting! Quite a few teachers have done the hcg or hhcg in my building!

Reads like a very exciting time for you! Enjoy!

Yes, I rather enjoy the cold temps too so that I can wear my sweaters that were put away in a trunk and open windows for fresh air. But, and a big but....we are getting freeze warnings, and some of my hybrid plants won't be liking that too much, especially my Brugmansias.
