Hey everyone. Just a question this morning. First day for 1500 calories for me in P3. In a "prior diet life" before hcg....I tried a product called Spiru-Tein protein shakes. Anybody know if this would be "legal" now in P3? It's a Broad Spectrum Protein Complex supposedly formulated with isolated soy protein from non-genetically modified soybeans. 1 scoop of the powder is 99 calories, 0 fat,11g carbohydrate,1 g dietary fiber,sugars 8g,Protein 14 g. If you mix with Almond Silk or the like, would be acceptable???

I think the sugar makes it "illegal" for p3. There are protein powders out there with no sugar. We use one that has 1g sugar but we didn't start using it till p4

I"m p4 now but in P3 we mainly had scrambled eggs with cheese, and bacon. Also :blush: I made some Flax Meal Xylitol brownies and we would have some of those sometimes:blush: But we did wait about a week and a half before we introduced those. My dd would make homemade whipped cream sweetened with davinci syrup or xylitol and plop some of that on top of the brownie

Maybe this has been posted, but I am not finding it...Are dates permissible on P3? The kind you eat, that is. =)
Also why only raw nuts? I am beginning my 1st P3 round in a couple of days. Just had my last dose of HCG yesterday. |

What to do???
I am on my 6th day of R1/P3. I just completed a Steak day because my weight was 4lbs over my goal weight for this round. This morning I woke up and had dropped 2lbs down to my two lb range. Now I'm not certain about what to eat.....If Im right at the two lbs over range I'm afraid if I eat too much or the wrong thing I'll go over again. Can anyone tell me what to do??

I'm up 1 pound on Day 2 of P3, no nuts today (only about 8 almonds yesterday and 2 pecans) so hoping to be the same on the scale in the morning! Yikes!

I am new at this! Is P1 the VLCD. P2 an extension of that but only eat when you are hungry and eat as much as you want - need to maintain 1500 calories a day. P3 Eating whatever you want but no sugars and no carbohydrates And P4 normal eating, bringing back the carbs? And all the abreviations...yikes :-) but lots of good info. Thanks.

Help!! cheated 2 days in a row on phase 3!!
Hi, please advise... Last dose was Tues..weighed in at 129 on Wed and by Saturday which was day 1 of phase 3, I weighed 126...that same night, I cheated and the next day was my birthday so my kids took me to lunch and i cheated again!! that night, I was mad and I cheated again!! Did a steak day on Monday but with chicken and didn't lose anything!! Ate right on Tues and Wed, but still didn't lose!! I'm 3 pounds over my window and can't and don't know if it's still possible to lose...The scale won't budge!! Please help!!

First, Happy Birthday!You are probably retaining water as well, so I can imagine how frustrated you are right now. As a newbie myself, I am going to tell you what others have so wonderfully shared with me. BREATHE! Stressing will not help. Do your correction day (CD), I used chicken thighs with skin on, and drank coffee with HWC, then follow it with a clean P3 day, and alternate your CD with a clean P3 day until you're back. You can do this! Just follow the protocol and it will work. Most importantly, you are trying to take action now, and that's the positive! Hang in there! ![]()

Phase 3 weight lost
Hello all.
i lost about 42.8 lbs during phase 2 and stayed at the same weight for the first 3 days of phase 3. My concern is, that on day 4 of phase 3 i lost 3.2 lbs. should i be doing something or just rejoice? Thanks Dave |

Posting this here since there are so many questions. Not all of these are strict protocol but all seem to be used frequently in P3/4.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any time you are more than 2 pounds from LDW, protocol says to do a "Correction Day" on the FIRST DAY you go over. (If you want to give yourself a larger window or choose to "eat clean" if you are only over by 0.2-0.5, that is fine, too.) Each person is different and some of these will work better for an individual than others. (Steak and GY day do not work well for me but roasted chicken does.) Try them and see. You should see between a 1 and 3 pound loss--theoretically enough to get you back in your window. (I have seen as little as nothing and as much as 6 pounds!) Steak day - fast all day (can have coffee/tea with cream). For dinner, eat a humongous fatty steak (as big as you can choke down) with either a large raw apple or a large raw tomato. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, dairy, etc. Split steak day - fast until lunch (can have coffee/tea with cream). For lunch eat a medium sized steak (8oz or so) with a small serving of veggies, if desired. For dinner, eat a medium sized steak with either a large raw apple or a large raw tomato. May use condiments and spices freely but no dairy, etc. Roasted chicken day - roast a whole large chicken. Start in the morning (if desired) and eat dark meat and skin (legs, wings and thighs) first for breakfast and lunch. If you run out of dark meat before dinner, make chicken salad (full-fat mayo) and eat it for dinner. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc. Roasted chicken leg/thigh/wing day - same as roasted chicken day except eat roasted legs/thighs/wings all day. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc. Greek yogurt day - Start in the morning (if desired) and eat 32-40oz of full-fat Greek yogurt plus up to 8oz of berries. If full-fat yogurt cannot be found, add 2T of heavy cream to each 8oz serving of yogurt. No restrictions on non-sugar sweeteners in the yogurt or (if desired) spices. No other protein or veggies. Egg day - Start in the morning and eat 8-12 eggs throughout the day. Condiments and butter or oil may be added for cooking or to make egg salad but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc. Fish/seafood day - fast all day (can have coffee/tea with cream). For dinner, eat a humongous piece of fish/seafood (any) with 8oz of asparagus. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc. Split fish/seafood day - fast all day (can have coffee/tea with cream). For lunch eat a medium sized piece of fish/seafood (any) (8oz or so) with a small serving of veggies if desired. For dinner, eat a medium sized piece of fish/seafood (any) with 8oz of asparagus. May use condiments and spices freely but no veggies, fruit, dairy, etc. Atkins fat fast - Eat 1000 calories worth of Atkins Fat Fast foods (google for list) Protein fast - Eat protein (any) all day. May be fatty protein but add minimal fat for cooking. No veggies, fruit, dairy, etc.

Thanks Shelby for the useful information. I was just wondering, for the coffee with cream in the morning, what kinds of cream can i use? Can i use whipping cream?
Also, i am now 7 pounds over my window. I delayed my correction days and the pounds went up. I am at fault, and i want to correct it now. I am set to do all it takes. Do you have any suggestion on how i can go about doing that? Should i do a correction day everday (steak day, chicken day, protein shake day, fage yogurt day) continuously until i am back to the window? |

That sounds like Whipped Cream?? And that does have sugar. Land O Lakes makes a sugar free whipped cream, tall in the can and with a purple top. Whipping cream has only milk sugar--which is quite less than regular milk.

also i did a ground beef day yesterday instead of steak day, and i woke up to no losses (no gain either). Pretty disappointing. I will be doing an egg day today. |

Oh, no Jennifer. Do not do back to back correction days. Your body may rebel and think starvation and not have a drop tomorrow either. I have a hard time with the egg days because I sometimes do not see a great loss on the scale the very next day, but the 2 days after I see a whoosh. You might get that whoosh tomorrow from the steak day. We call it the 2-day effect. Just enjoy a good P3 menu today with no cheese and no nuts and you should do well tomorrow.
