Any Vegetarian HHCG Dieters or Veggie hcg Plan

I was kinda excited to see another veggie hcg gal around here.

I do eat meat.Even though I love it I always feel really stale and heavy and gross after eating it.

I just thought there might be a person around here that can tell me any veggie options for hcg.I have a allergy to whey so cottage cheese is out of the question.

I want to do the hcg right.

I am very sad about the person I have became .I dont even look at my reflection anymore.I cry like a baby anytime I do

Thank You =)

This is the first I've heard of the hcg diet. I just looked it up to get an idea. I did like how the "hcg vegan protocol" on one page included 1 Tbsp of milk. lol, how vegan! Other than that, it looks very interesting. I'm going to read more about it.

Vegetarian Options

I ate eggs (1 egg and 3 additional egg whites) and cottage cheese (100 g) as my protein many times during my hCG experience and it worked really well for me. My mom is mostly vegetarian and also has White Albacore Tuna packed in water as one of her proteins (as well as tilapia and cod) but she really doesn't want to do fish that often. She's lucky she found that the flavor and texture of tuna works for her. During P3, you can eat whole milk yogurt and nuts as proteins as well (I found that almonds made me gain) so I would only try one nut per day and weigh them. This will help you figure out what works for your body!

Also, Garden of Life Raw Protein powder is fantastic (as well as Kirkman's Pea Protein Powder).

I make a protein shake every morning:
2 cups Unsweetened Organic Soy Milk (Silk)
2 Tablespoons Natural Peanut Butter (only ingredients = Peanuts and Salt)
Cocoa Powder (as much as you want)
1 Scoop Raw Protein Powder
1/2 teaspoon Pure Almond Extract
1 packets SweetLeaf Stevia (only one I've found w/o sugar or sugar alcohol)
Ice

Blend and Enjoy
Sometimes I add greek yogurt or ricotta if I have some in the fridge I need to use up. I eat a lot of dairy now and I always try to go for full fat option because I keep my sugar intake low (and fat burns fat as long as it's not combined with sugar). My general plan of action Monday - Friday is basically Atkins unless I have a business lunch and don't want to be fussy. Then on Saturdays and Sundays I can enjoy a meal out but I still tend to only eat very small portions of starch or sugar.

From A Successful Rogue Vegetarian

Hi There, . . . from my personal Vegetarian experience, I did a round six weeks ago, released 25 pounds and have just started a second round. I've been a combo Vegan/Veg for many years but want to try the HCG anyway. I use Vegetarian products like Vegan Bocca burgers, Jumbo Smart Dogs, Eggs, Naked Cutlets and Yves Smart ground and 1/2 lowfat & 1/2 fat free cottage cheese and Protein drinks. I just make sure that the protein ratio is high, like close to 30 grams per each meal, add veggies and very little fruit to keep calories W/I 500 and it works wonders! I'm now down 9 pounds in 5 days again:. Whoo Hoo!

I'm so excited .... I just posted this question a few days ago ... the part of this diet that is painful to me is having to mainly eat meat ... I just don't like it!!!!! Prior to my diet, I've always eaten a lot of beans and soy!!! So you did high protein .. close to 30 grams ... did you look at the carbs or fat at all? I know this isn't Atkins... but I remained in ketosis for R1 and was thinking that helped w/the weight loss? Another foods you eat .. Please list them here!!! Did you ever eat protein bars .. if so what brand?

Thank You!!!!

Sick to DEATH of meat

I am glad to see this posted. I feel so bad and guilty- that day after day when I 'plan' on eating a grilled chicken breast, or some other kind of meat...that I just can't get myself to want to eat it. Meat has really never appealed to me, but I used to force myself to eat it. Lately I can't even force it down, so I feel guilty and binge on bad stuff, since I feel bad about my failure to follow the plan. I believe in the benefits of low carb, but wonder will the plan work if you eat like Ezekial bread, and soy products that don't have as much protein as meat? What if your carb count is quite high but the calories in the 500 range?

Hi there, I have just started my own "rogue" plan that is vegetarian. Thus far I am using NOW whey protein powder and vega protein powder. I also plan to use eggs and fat free cottage cheese and yogurt.

I have done the protocol according to Simeon's before and I must say I actually feel better doing it this way. I think that may be because vega is an actual meal replacement powder and is so full of nutrition plus has 43% of your daily potassium.

I started loading on Saturday and today I am down 6.6 lbs and I have NOT been sticking to the 500 calorie limit. I have been getting in more like 600-700. I am also mixing my vegetables. Those babies were meant to be mixed!

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Joyful--That's a good idea with supplementing with a protein powder....maybe that's the missing link. It seems like I need around 20 grms of protein a meal to feel my best, but all the veggie proteins fall short (around half) That's good to hear you are having success.

Thanks Liza,

I really think the protein powder is helping me a lot. Of course the true test will be keeping the weight off, but that is always the case. : )

No one should feel like a failure for not following the plan as written. You have to do what works for YOU.

I did one round as written, forced my former vegetarian self to choke down meat and felt lousy, weak, deprived etc. on 500 cals a day and the food choices given. I did a second round at 600-700 cals and mixed my veggies, used protein shakes, Greek yogurt (VERY high protein and low carbs), Egg Beaters, cottage cheese blended into a yummy creamy tomato soup, Quorn naked cutlets, Gardein, and high-protein/low carb tortilla wraps instead of the melba. I cut out fruit to keep the carbs down. I hit my goal, enjoyed my food more, and felt better too.

Steak day replacement?

So what would replace the steak day for non-meat eaters?

I think I saw another thread that you could do a nut day instead?

I don't eat beef but I do eat everything else.

Would salmon not be a good replacement for steak? I would love a jumbo piece of salmon if I had to correct.

Thanks for answering - this is my first post/first day joining this site...I have not yet bought my hcg (in the research stage right now) but leaning more and more towards it. Came across the diet via fertilityfriend.

Thanks!

Maybe an apple day?

I'm doing research for a Vegetarian friend. This is a very resourceful thread and it would be great if it turned into a Vegetarian check in thread for all the non meat eaters.

Some people who don't eat steak (myself included) do protein days so fish would fit the bill. Basically protein and some low-carb vegetables only all day. Or, sugar-free/low carb protein shakes like Jay Robb all day.

An apple day is for a stall in P2...probably too many carbs for P3 as a corrective measure. And, all the sugar from the fruit would probably make you really hungry and set off cravings without the hcg in your system.
