Hi Doris and gang,

How are you and DH feeling now, Doris?

Never made it here last night. One of the lovely little communities north of us was horribly impacted by flash floods. Spent the evening talking with neighbors who are from that little village of Pen Yan. http://www.rochesterhomepage.net/sto...IEusJjjGLqtCMQ

Anyway, hope everyone is doing OK.

Well, it is moving day today. The kids furniture arrives at my place today!
Hah!

I have made room for them in two bedrooms and the living room and dining room are theirs. I will have the other half of the house...and never the twain shall meet.

Mary, my condolences on the loss of your dear brother. I hope that you can get a driver to assist you there.
Keep strong.

It was unusually hot here yesterday we were expecting rain and thunder showers all day. It got hotter and hotter as the day progressed. We got the rain over night. I had to put the a/c on last night as the house got up to 75F. It has been on all night and only came down 3 degrees. I may call the company to have it checked. I can't go through summer without my air.

Doris, I too sleep with a small fan. How are you feeling?
That's what I would suggest a gentle wash first as Mary said.

Waving to ALL...wish me Luck with the move in today!

Email address

Good morning. The TW tech was here at 8:00 am this morning. Doris and Linda, here is my new email address.

vstandish@roadrunner.com

Yesterday I spent over 2 hrs on the phone with TW to no avail, so they scheduled the tech to come today. No charge, because everything was a TW created problem.

I have to lay down for a nap now.

Good morning y'all...90 degrees at 8:30 so you know it's going to be a scorcher. They keep expanding the time for this hot wave so we're expecting it a for a few more days. I guess it's pushing a big low up and over us, so Babette, you'll be getting more of the wet stuff.

No Spanish class this morn as the handyman is due to fix the fences that were blown down with the winds, or where the critters have poked holes in them. I was up and at'em early as my gp wanted a fasting blood draw before she sees me next week. Quick run through the canyon and there was a casualty of the burro herd beside the road. Unfortunately, they lose a few every year; mostly in the winter when the road is warmer than the ground, so the herd gathers on the asphalt. Later I've the first rooster comb shot in the right knee so will be out and about during the heat...yeccch! Oh well, that's life in the big city.

As much as I'd like to be with my nieces, I've decided to remain home. I still have problems with funerals and my breathing is the pits...excuses, I know, but I think I'd rather mourn alone. I had two older brothers, so I was the baby...I attempted to contact my other brother's wife and I wasn't able...no e-mail, address, or phone is connecting, so I'm sure she has passed, too. She was in Florida and we met only twice and really liked her. I had the feeling she would have been great to know. My older brother died a few years ago, so I'm the last of the litter. Younger cousins on the paternal line, a few nieces and nephews. mostly of my husband's family. I hope someone will feel my fascination for family history and will take up where I've left off...t'would be nice to have that heritage.

Handyman knockin' so will be back later...hugs to all.

I swear I posted this morning, right after Verleen, but it's not there now. No reason for it to be missing, it was short. ??

Verleen, thanks for sending the address, so we can contact you easier, when you are unable to get on here. Hoping your nap was long enough, after yakking with those tech people.

Mary, I'm sorry that you can't get to the funeral, and you are the last of your family, I do understand that going to it, so far away, and you are not feeling up to par for a trip like that now. Hope the shot works on your knee! The air quality must be horrendous there, we see the pictures on the news from those fires, but the heat wave makes it doubly miserable.

Susan, good luck with the furniture arriving and hope it all "fits in". Did you get a hold of an A/C person today? We are having someone come in the next few weeks to give our system a "tune up", whatever they do. I noticed our car A/C was not as cool lately, so may have to have that one checked, also.

We are thinking of having our large bathtub removed in the master bath, and the shower taken out and one big shower put in it's place. Has anyone here ever had that done before? Do you have any recommendations as to what NOT to do? We wonder if we should have it so someone in a wheelchair could roll in, if that ever needed to be. Or should we go with a low lip?

Thanks All the move is finally complete. Everything in its place.
Lots of my 'stuff' of course is displaced and needs a thorough sorting, years of papers and junk. Oh hum... One day at a time.

Doris, Yes, I did call the A.C guy this morning and duh, I didn't put the breaker on or uncover the unit. Now it is working really well. Hah!

DSIL and his friend have just gone back to their house to get the patio furniture.

I will keep poking around in my boxes of papers to weed them out. Oh joy!

Darn....I thought I posted this morning, too?

Glad to see you here again, Verleen.

Mary, condolences on the loss of your brother. I hope it does rain here. With all my new plants, I need it. Had to water today.

Thank you Verleen , got it now.

Oh Mary, My sincere condolences on the loss of your brother.

Yikes Susan, hope this move works out well for you. Bless your heart, I could not do it. As much as I love my family, we could never live together.

Doris, go with the wheel chair access shower. You just never know AND it will be a good selling point.

Hi to Doug, Iolani and all who follow.

You do know that they can be made to look lovely and contemporary and not at all like wheel chair access baths.

We saw some nice ones during our trip, that is what got my husband thinking about doing this. Even the Indian casino had a wonderful shower, just great! Too bad we were sick, lol.

So sorry to hear about your brother Mary. It's hard when there is so much distance to consider. My condolences go out to you as well.
