Happy Mother's Day.

We can all remember our moms in a special way tomorrow in our thoughts, prayers or just fond memories. Where would we be without them.

Have a great week folks.

You are right, Loretta. I'm going to call my mother when it's after 2 pm, her time, when she is in her room but not sleeping.

Mary, can you buy a copy of that book, paperback, online somewhere? I lost my copy and the original Jean Nidetch Weight Watchers paperback book in our flood of '97, but do have weight watchers books from the later 1960's and 1970's. dh is going to look into the surgery where they just remove part of the intestine, to see if he can get rid of diabetes doing that.

Sunday's foods

B: toast and eggs, have not had any coffee yet

L: some fruit, have to cut up strawberries for later on

D: probably going to fix Steak Um's sandwiches for dh and son, I'm not sure if I will have any or not.

Evening snack: cut up strawberries and ice coffee, if I have any taste buds by then.

Wow! Didn't post yesterday, things are slipping my mind too much now...oh well, this too shall pass.

Yes, Doris you can buy used/old books on-line. There are lots of sites, but my favorite is ABE, as it is a co-op of individuals world-wide so there is a huge selection...prices are right, too, with some places including shipping. I found my copy of '72 Atkins (which I had replaced on abe.com) so won't need to replace it again. Don't know about you, but I've given friends my copies of so many books, I'm glad I have a source for cheap/used books. I had planned on starting induction today but decided not to as I have too many induction perishables no-no's to clear up...like tomatoes, an artichoke, etc. So will start Sunday...hope my impetus stays up.

Sunday's eats - breakfast after church, hash browns, bacon, egg, Ezekiel toast, and a bit of orange juice...tummy ache so only had a cup of yogurt later.

Monday
B. Jimmy Dean light muffin and trop 50 for the pills.

L. Carl's burger and a soda (been craving a burger so decided to settle that craving.)

S. chicken broth, tortellini, lo salmon...water

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments on the food chart. You can also incorporate exercise info, which I like a lot.

I wish there was a column for net carbs, but that's easy enough to figure.

It's hard to say about the crackers. I had some gastro issues the day after, but it's always hard to know what causes that. If it was the gluten, the response wasn't extreme.

Since I've started the gluten free eating, I had one day where I just lost it and at a pretty good amount of bread. The next day was AWFUL...like a hangover, plus high emotionality, low coping capacity. Overall, I'd say the effect of greatly reducing the gluten has made a big difference, and I'd greatly prefer to avoid it in the future.

Thanks for responding Sherry. I don't think I am Gluten sensitive but I avoid the Carbs to lose weight. Great going if you can keep to that WOE, sounds like the rewards far outweigh the other. You know what works for your body.

Loved my Supper tonight. I marinated the Salmon in garlic, spices and such, it was delicious I did add a few drops of Thai Red sweet n hot sauce over it as I served it up with buttered broccoli. Oh YUM all round. hah!

Sherry, what app is that? I like it.

Menu: boring. Doing Atkins 72. I did good all last week. Ate very clean.
Today.. ate pork chops and had one diet soda. I know to stay away from pork because of the nitrates which stall me but I hadn't had pork in sooooo long. Found some sugar free bacon , lower sodium for tomorrow but did not find the nitrate free one. I have to use that sparingly also.

today... breakfast at 6 pm. two pork chops, can of diet coke. one oz. sharp cheddar cheese
lunch: around 11pm will be a couple of fried eggs and two slices of bacon.
dinner: around 4am will be egg salad on a bed of lettuce
snack if hungry around 7 am cheese or egg

lots of water, coffee and ice tea with sweet n low

I chose the bowl of cut up strawberries for tonights snack, they are so fresh and juicy right now, and cheaper than they were in California.

Sheila, great job on last week's clean eating and on being in ONEderland!
I'll PM you about the ap I'm using. It seems I'm violating terms of service to discuss it publicly.

Susan
, your dinner sounded really delicious! Where did you get Thai sauce? That sounds like something my family would really enjoy.

As for gluten free, yes, I'm thinking it is good for me, but it does add another layer to the difficult job of changing your eating habits. I probably wouldn't be doing it if I hadn't been pretty sure it was an issue for me. I'm sure you've greatly reduced your gluten intake eating low carb anyway. But do read "Wheat Belly" and/or "Grain Brain" when you can. Both offer what seems to be a good argument for eliminating gluten, regardless of your tolerance for it.
