THURSDAY'S ROLL CALL, May 1

Had to stop and think, MAY, :shake: At least I remembered. Don't know why I thought there was another day left of April.

Mary, I used to have trouble with the old Ellis Island web site, trying to find my grandparents and various other relatives took weeks, it was so slow. Finally did find them, though.

((hug)) to everyone under the weather. See you in the morning.

LoveMontana 04-30-2014 08:41 PM

LOL it is difficult to remember what day it is , let alone what month.

The only reason for me to remember today is it was my dad's birthday.

Wishing all others under the weather a speedy recovery.

Hi all,

Welcome Newbies.

We have had the most gorgeous weather ever seen. Sunny and low 60's. Not much going on. Tomorrow is garden club.

Have a good one.

Busy day today, starting packing a bit, and picking up Silas later on, that will keep us on our toes.

Have to go turn the page on 2 wall calendars, lol, forgot to last night.

Have a good day, friends, if you are able to. :)

Happy May Day...no basket of flowers on my doorstep this morning...must no longer be a tradition. Funny what jumps into the mind at times, isn't it?

Another update to Windows 8 this morning, driving me crazy. Just when I think I'm used to it, it changes....darn tech stuff. Can't live with 'em an can't live without 'em.

Hot, dry and windy and, of course, we've the fires burning in the foothills and somewhere they're dealing with the floods. We had winds of over 100 mph in our burn area yesterday and sustained winds in the 60's...these kept the aircraft out of the area, so the poor ground-pounders are bearing the brunt of this fight. More high temps and winds today and then we get some relief on Friday.

Spanish class this morning and the sister missionaries this afternoon...so I guess I'd best get moving....have a great day today folks and welcome to our newbies...

This is for Verleen and Louise and anyone else under the weather. I have a friend who is a professional photographer and she took this photo Tuesday in my garden. It's an Angelique tulip:

How lovely, thanks for sharing...

mykneesareback 05-01-2014 08:24 AM

That a gorgeous Tulip, Begete, I've only seen them in catalogs!! :)

Rushing around here.

Mary, enjoy your Spanish class!!! Don't wear a hat, with the danged wind out there ;)

Thank YOU Babette for the precious eye candy today.

Yes, May Day conjures up Flowers and Morris dancers around the May pole.

Lovely green coming fast now up here, so I am happy about that.

DS got on his way to drive back. He is stopping along the way to do some hotel site inspections. It is about 4 hours to Toronto and two stops before he settles in for the night. We shed a few tears with smiles just the parting. DD came over to see him off too. What are we like? Family stuff I guess.

Hope the rain stays away so I can meet DD later for a walk with her dog in the woods.
She has gone on her marathon training run right now.

Waving to ALL and hope to BBL...

Hello all! It's cool and beautiful here today. Just right for a nice walk with dog and baby.

Doris - would you feel comfortable sharing a pic of Silas? Here's my grandson Liam and his mom, our daughter Mollie:

What a gorgeous flower, Babette. Thanks for sharing!

Windows 8 update? ARrrrrrrrrrggg. Oh well. It can't get worse, right?

Wishing you all a great day!

Beautiful tulip Begete. To see them in a cluster must be fabulous!

Sherry you have a lovely daughter and grandson. Thanks for sharing them. :)

Safe travels to your son Susan. That was a brilliant idea having your car waiting for you when you arrive next year. Parting is so hard.

Doris when do you leave for Calif? It will be fun checking out old stomping grounds again.

PT gal says I'm doing well. She gave me another couple of things to do at the kitchen sink. Light squats and heel toe rocks. So far so good on strength building. Love it!

See ya later.

Am so glad to hear that you're doing so well, Sharon! Yay!

Michele

Shalbrihil 05-01-2014 04:37 PM

Thanks Michele. I'm doing just fine. :)

:clap:Great News Sharon!
Keep up the good work. Excellent progress!

Love the eye candy of your daughter and grandson Sherry. Beautiful!

mykneesareback 05-01-2014 06:33 PM

Sherry, that is a great picture of your daughter and grandson!

Sharon, I'm happy to read your latest knee report!!! Good going, and even kitchen sink exercises, lol.

Susan, glad your son left and is on his way to get that car down there, and it can stay in lovely Florida, lol.

Hi Michele, did you have a nice weather day, it was lovely here today, sort of windy, but just warm enough to be pleasant.

Kids just left, with our instructions of what to water while we are gone, Silas likes to water with the watering can. They will bring their dogs from time to time, since they don't have a yard where they live.

Take care, gang. I'm taking my good old laptop, so should be able to check in at night.

LoveMontana 05-01-2014 06:38 PM

Have a wonderful time Doris. How long will you be gone?

Begete 05-01-2014 06:48 PM

What a gorgeous daughter and grandson, Sherry!

Doris, where are you going?

mykneesareback 05-01-2014 06:58 PM

Begete, we are going to visit our aging Mother's, in Calif. Husband's mother will be 85 on Mother's Day, and my mother is fading away a little more each day. Will visit our old mountain town, to say a real goodbye to friends there, since we left like bats out of heck when we hurried away to get here before the moving truck did, last July.

Shalbrihil 05-01-2014 07:07 PM

Safe travels Doris.
