EXERCISE Week, April 20 - April 26

I apologize, I have not been "with it" with the exercise, I miss the 3 hrs. of exercise bike, but cannot complete anything like that here at all, too many duties, family issues, business issues, lol, just need to begin all over again. And won't be able to switch gears until June, when grandson will be switching schools and our schedule will change.
Will continue with doing what I can, when I can, and not worrying about it anymore. Need to get on the groove so I'll feel better when we do the Nashville trip, seems like the kids will come on that one, too.

Let us continue!!!

I will be inside and outside, but not running around, lol. Playing tee ball and some soccer ball kicking around with grandson for sure. But no regular exercise, no even poor Jack LaLanne's today!

Thanks Doris for the start. I agree with you on this: "Will continue with doing what I can, when I can, and not worrying about it anymore." Sometimes family and other issues just take precidence over our routine.

Got out to walk this am. Nice weather for it.

We did have fun, Silas felt like kicking the ball around, and the backyard is not flat, so did go up and down the grassy slopes, ha ha. He loved looking for the plastic eggs though. Later on, he watered some plants in containers with his Opa.

Today, I have time for Jack LaLanne's when dh naps, and already put my weights in the living room for then, too. Got a new pair of Skechers , the kind that makes you roll when you walk, but it does make my heel feel better...so far, except they are heavier the the Go Walks kind. Have a pair of sandals that should come today or tomorrow, will see how those feel, because it's gonna get hotter soon enough.

Wishing you a very good day!

squats day, early this morning, before breakfast!
8 lb. weights in the living room. Walked in the alley, but not too far, checking out the asphalt.

He had so much fun, and when he came yesterday, he looked around for the eggs in the basket, and asked where they were, he wanted to go out and hunt again! But they took all of them home, and put some of the filled plastic eggs away, so he wouldn't eat so many jelly beans. He is working on the potty chair thing now.........I had forgotten how all of that went!!

Jack LaLanne's, in the living room, and 10 lb. weights, no squats today, feeling soreness, but did lift some cardboard boxes in the garage, trying to sort the ones to check through first. That's it for today, need to cut up vegetables today..time consuming mostly.

Walked all over Wal Mart, garden part looking for dh, back to the other end to buy groceries, back again to look for dh, while he was looking for me, then went to the toiletries area to look for prep H to take on the road. Wore the new walking shoes, so heel didn't hurt while the shoes were on, but it was hot with the socks, so will wear peds next time.

No time for a walk this morning. Did manage my workout.
The plan is to plant a few flowers, tomatoes and peppers when I get off of here.

Yes, the gardening bug is hitting so many now! dh planted that Japanese Maple out front, and watches it like a hawk already, lol.

Did the dreaded squats already, Jack LaLanne's in a few minutes, and need to grab the weights later on, they are in here on the floor, waiting. Staying home today and tomorrow will help.

Hello, ladies. I am a new member -- 57 years old with 50 pounds to lose. ( I have lost the first eight, so 42 to go.) I am so glad to see this thread. After way too many years of "couch potato-dom", I have joined a gym and started exercising again. I have decided to ditch the tread mill and I'm doing Bokwa (African dance/fitness) and Banghra (Indian dance) classes along with some resistance weight training for bone density. They are all pretty daunting but I just keep up as best I can with all the 20 and 30 somethings!!! I am determined to last for the entire 60 minute class and feel so much better now that I am moving more. Hopefully in a few months time, I will be able to keep up with the majority of the class. I know fitness/exercise takes discipline, determination and a little bit of being kind to oneself, so I am looking forward to checking in here and staying accountable. (It was the being out of breath after two flights of stairs that has kick-started me!)

Welcome Swan! Glad you found some exercise streak that you ENJOY, that is key. I used to dance more, but to Oldies music and line dancing at home, no time for rushing off someplace to do anything. Anyway you can do it, go for it. Doing it forever is the only stumbling block.

Today we are busy out in the yard and will do the alley walk, since the weathe is good, and lots of vines blooming to look at, birds all over the place.
Weights later on when dh is napping.

How absolutely true that "doing it forever is the only stumbling block"! It is a beautiful sunny day here, too and some outdoor exercise in the garden is on the list for me today.
