Why doesn't Sizzler put potatoes and carrots in their beef soup, I wonder? Reminds me to see if I actually have a day at home to make beef stew, lol. We have been gone every day, no time to stay home and cook something, and I won't leave something on the stove when we go somewhere. Should be happy to have a life to take part in, slap me, quick friends!!

Thursday's foods

B: leftover brussel sprouts, garlic, onion, mushrooms, 1/2 cup egg subs. added. Colby cheese shreds on top. black coffee

L: we will be out to lunch, after shopping for groceries or before, no telling where dh wants to go.

D: turkey burger patties, corn leftovers, and spinach salad with kale taken out. black coffee

Evening snack: Italian Ice cuplets, cut up strawberries and black coffee

Thursday's lunch, went to "In & Out" small burger, ice tea, just the right size meal, and the place was full, plus the long lines ordering into their cars.

Wow!!! didn't know In 'n Out had made it to Texas. Every time we went, the place was full with long lines. Our funniest one was in Palm Springs. We didn't realize it until we stopped and went inside, but three buses with teens were there and talk about long lines. But the place had set aside one register for customers other than the bus loads and so we got out food very quickly.. Fortunately, the teens were very well behaved and it was a pleasant experience for us.

B. herbal tea, eggs, bacon, half a potato and a slice of rye bread

S. lo sizzler steak and pasta from last night, more herbal tea

not sure what else 'cause that's just over 700 kcals.

Mary, last year, the first one opened in Plano, near where our son lives, and dil sent her niece over there to bring home dinner burgers, the girl sat in the car line 3 hrs. to get her order, there were so many cars, they had police direct traffic because the line was out into the street. When we visited, just a couple of weeks after, 2 traffic lights before the restaurant, police were waving people through, bumper to bumper, we laughed and laughed at that, just unbelievable!! While we sat there in the town of Allen, right next to Plano, some men were chatting on the cell with another guy, telling him how great the burgers were, and the guy was telling them he wouldn't go there because they don't have chili burgers, LOL...... So funny, we can't understand, with all of the eating places here, that they would consider In & Out to be so extremely wonderful. ?? Thanks for your story about the In & Out in Palm Springs, lol.........

Hey Mary, They just opened 3 'in and outs' here in the past six months and I still haven't been to one because they're too crowded. I hope to be able to go soon!

Michele, on the Food Network, they must feature those food trucks in Austin every few days, how do you like those trucks, do you like to go there rather than to a regular restaurant? They sure have different kinds of food choices there.

Doris - It's probably a good thing that I don't live or work near them - cause I'd probably eat every meal at one of them! Truth be told, I've only gone one time with some friends and we ate at 3 different food trucks in one afternoon

L. Thai...som tom (green papaya salad, Pad Thai (noodle dish with chicken), and a crispy rice noodle sweet dish that I'll have to find the name for.

Still full three hours later, so not sure if I'll have anything else for the day.

Michele, what surprises me about those food trucks, they had ones there for just desserts and things, and every kind of variety of foods, and there are different places where several of them are allowed. My cousin's daughter goes to the university, and she says there are some near there, with good prices. Now her cousin is also going to move there, to get her master's degree, so the two of them will be enjoying Austin . Living up in the Boonies for so long, this kind of stuff amazes me............

Saturday's foods

B: 2 Sara Lee bread toasts, and cheese omelet, black coffee

L: H/B eggs, artichoke hearts and black olives, black coffee

Snack: rice krispy bar, and black coffee

D: kippered snack from the can, brussel sprouts with onions and garlic, and black coffee

Evening snack: Jell-O 60 cal. cup, and Italian Ice cuplets, black coffee
