" I have no romantic feelings about age," Katherine Hepburn once said. "Either you are interesting at any age or you are not. There is nothing particularly interesting about being old, or being young, for that matter."

Have a great week folks.

Sunday's foods DD

Just trying to stay low cal for a few days to offset the too-many up days...and staying busy to keep the "hungries" away..added another dinner to my schedule this week...oh well, it's the holidays.

had coffee before church and a small bag of popcorn at the Skechers' store. (I took Nadine and her daughter over to the warehouse store for their Christmas presents)

S. leftovers, a short rib with a bit of noodles, spinach souffle, and half a bake sweetpotato, decaf afterward.

600 kcals...dang! gotta get some of those mini-quiches (my designated contribution) for tomorrow's sisterhood dinner...anyone knows who stocks the best? Sams Club? Costco? ????? It's supposed to be an appetizer evening, so wondering what all will be there...I love small bites.

Mary, I've tasted a little quiche but never bought any, but I'm sure any of those places that make them, it will be good!!! Even the store near us, "Market Street" makes good ones, they give out samples. I could make them my self, just too lazy since I'm the only one who would eat it anyway. Linda makes those, without a crust, spinach and so forth, they are a good idea!!

Was it warmer today where you are? Have a good night!

Mary, I've tasted the pre-packaged mini quiches and thought them quite tasteless. If you have the time and the inclination, you could make your own using a mini-muffin pan. You can spice 'em up or down to your liking, add meat or not, and add different veggies and cheeses to your liking. I don't make them with a crust - just add a toothpick and you've got a nice light biteful of yumminess. Good Luck!

Monday's Eats UD

Dinner was a success, too much food with everyone taking most of their stuff back home for their families. Found the mini-quiche and you are so right, tasteless...oh well, live and learn.

coffee in the morning...and a subway cold cut combo mid afternoon, diet soda

S. don't think I can remember it all as it was a bite or two of a lot of things...will try. chicken drumstick, a few boiled shrimp with a tad of cocktail sauce, a couple of tiny meatballs (way overcooked) in bbq sauce, one teeny cocktail weenie, a few of my quiche, baby carrots and sugar peas, and one tiny cream puff...a lot of protein, at least.

1400 kcals give or take a few

Well, quiche is kinda "bland" food, anyway, that's why my dh doesn't like it, either, even the kind with green chilis in there, but I like it.

B: cut up zuchinni, mushrooms, garlic, 1/2 cup egg subs. flaxmeal. grated parm on top. 2 sips of black coffee and away we went

L: at Fuzzy's, pulled pork and some Latin potatoes, ice tea

Snack: none, no time

D: asparagus, some meatloaf, and small baked potato, black coffee

Evening snack: Italian ice, 2 servings and black coffee

Wednesday's Food UD

and tomorrow will be an up day as I'm taking the Elders out to dinner at my favorite Thai place...just a little hole in the wall but the food is great.

coffee before hitting Denny's for breakfast at noon...2 pancakes, bacon and egg, with more coffee. Going to have re-think the coffee..sigh!

S. Marie Callendar's turkey pot pie..pinot. Was really surprised the crust browned in the microwave...was very good so will do that again except it's very high calorie. had a few nuts follow dinner.

Thursday's food DD

Well, almost a down day..700 kcals so 'tweren't too bad. Dinner was really excellent and the elders enjoyed it, I think. Doris, in my church, the elders are usually young. I know, a contradiction of terms but "elder" is a position rather than a reference to age as in most churches. The elders are the young men serving their missions.

coffee, coffee, and a Special K breakfast thin about noon with crystal light for the pills.

decaf

Dinner at six...som tum (green papaya salad) and shrimp pad thai (a sweetish noodle dish), water to drink

more decaf

700 kcals.
