LOL Doris, cute picture this time too. Many of us can relate.

Yes , you will experience very cold and very hot there. Enjoy that climate and low tax Texas.

Going to finish washing windows and vertical blinds tomorrow, I hope

See you all tomorrow.

Oh my, what a cold day we had. It was just frigid and the wind was fierce. We couldn't get this big house warm. I finally turned up the thermostat to 76º and got the house warmed up. It seems like everyone is having bad weather.

Rich helped me put up the tree and the angel is on top. But that's it. I need those little ornament hangers and a tree skirt. I don't know what happened to my lovely crocheted tree skirt. The 2 pups and Cathy's cat were lined up in a row watching the tree go up. We enjoyed some egg nog with brandy in it. A tradition. Harlan, the cat, showed great interest in the tree but I didn't have to use the squirt bottle.

Two double doors blew open and wouldn't stay shut. We have to do something to correct that problem. Some of the windows and doors will need winterizing, caulk, etc. This nasty weather showed us what was needed.

Cathy cooked dinner tonight which was pretty nice and tasty. I'm so tired and need to go to bed. Tomorrow we have some errands to do, plus my housekeeper is here. I like her very much. Have a good day tomorrow. May you be blessed.

Good Monday- for me an oxymoron...

Garfield is my twin from another Mother.
Shawnee/Soux is thrilling me on just about a daily basis- Great Grand Father of bio Father was born in Ireland- how about that. I am a Coleen- and I hope a Native American- (a nose bleed and I would be out of the tribe though) . I am going to e-mail my cousin in the Calif. dessert and she if she ever checked on any ancestery but she is the youngest cousin of them all. ShaneeSoux agrees with Mary about finding Indian blood- they hid and lied on to the census to keep from being shipped to reservations.
Aaunt Jane went out this morning and will not come for her shrimp broth. She has never ever done that, ever. SuSun almost never comes unless she knows the shrimps are steamed and chopped up for her or she is cold. I am worried as Aaunt Jane is my adopted daughter- she was bottle fed and thinks she is a human and LOVES all people human- she was still on formula when I got her but she sure could lap that up in her dish. I will feel like crying till I find her.
Going to bundle up and take out the re-cycles and call, call and call her little self. They both slept with me last night and waited patiently for me to come back from the bathroom and then jumped riht back on the bed.
I'll bbl... wish that she comes back to me.
Please.
SHE IS BACK- SHE MIGHT HAVE BEEN ON THE CENTERAL HEAT UNIT- I THINK THEY GO THERE WHEN IT IS COLD PLUS THE SUN HITS IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. WHEW.

Morning all...hope everyone is warming up as it seems as tho' bad weather is almost every where.

Lainey, so glad for you the fur kid showed up. Yep, we worry about them as we know they are so helpless without us. And happy you're finding your family; sounds like she's doing a good job for you.

I've no plans for the day, so will probably wind up back on the computer working on my family...the Family History Center is closed this week in order to give the volunteers time to spend with the family. So we'll see what trouble I can get into...have a great day folks and stay safe. Anyone traveling for the holidays?

Good morning.

A bit of a stomach upset yesterday and I ate almost nothing all day and yet the scale hasn't budged. I seem to be permanently up 3 pounds.

No major plans for today except to make the stuffing for Thursday and bake the appetiser cauliflower.

Have a good one.

You're sure welcome Michele. I think you'll like it.

It's now in the 80's at 2:40 pacific time. We have the fan on again. hahahaha! I just finished ordering some pieces of cast iron cook ware that I didn't have. One was a little melting pot for melting butter and coconut oil. The other was a a little sauce pan with lid.

Soon the chicken thighs will go in the pan and now I have to think of what to have as sides. My big deal for the day.

Hope your day is going well. Babette, hang in there. I'm losing now again. Keep your eating clean and you will start losing again.

Just getting here, busy day of sorts.

I told the surgeon last week, I didn't mind if a cancellation comes up, that I'd like to get it over with before Christmas.
Guess what, they called today with Dec 3rd. It is going to be a bit of a rush but with this smaller procedure I can do it, right?

Have a pleasant evening All and Hope to BBT...

Susan, just get the darned thing over with and get on with life.
Had a lumpectomy done years ago as an out patient and was home that afternoon. Not a problem except wearing a bra day and night for a week or so.

Thanks Linda, I know this procedure is a piece of cake and thank you for sharing your experience. That is much appreciated.

I thought, I may as well take advantage of the earlier surgery. Not too sure when the radiation starts, so not keen on that but it helps with survival rates in the long run.

Oh yes, Susan, get it done and over with! Even my mother says the waiting beforehand is far worse than the actual thing they do, goodness! I'm thankful there was a cancellation.

Me dh got a call from the dermatologist, he needs that mohs surgery, and they sent him to a specialist, because this present doctor doesn't do it. The specialists office called right away, so dh is set for consultation in Dec. and will have it done quickly, it's his ear lobe, and needs to be taken care of, they might remove it. Now he has 5 doctor appts. in Dec., and I have 2, I guess we will Christmas shop after these appts., since we will be out and about, good excuse.

Verleen, it was good to see your post, I can only imagine how hard it is to heat an older house like that, but you guys will figure it out after living there for awhile. Do you still have to heat the other house, to prevent pipes from freezing? Just wondering.

Begete, what are you planning for dessert, or will you buy "something" from some place near you?? I'm curious, I have to provide something chocolate and the pumpkin pie, and someone requested banana bread, nothing unusual.

Wow lots of Drs appointments for you Doris and your DH in December.

I could have had my surgery at the end of October beginning of November, but I wanted to wait to see a new lady surgeon and I got her.
There really is no hurry with only a tiny 4mm but I will feel better once it is out of me.

I have not been overly concerned, I guess because I am aware of the OR system having worked in the hospital before my present job, it all really helps.

It was the decision that stalled me, the lumpectomy vs the double mastectomy with reconstruction. Ha!

Lainey, glad to hear that your kitty came home. What mountain lions are you referring to???

Verleen, great to see your post, keep warm and cosy resting. Your description of the animals lined up watching the tree go up sounds adorable. Glad you had some brandy and eggnog to warm you up.

Michele and Sharon, Now I will have to google Land Girls which channel girls?

Waving to All and hope to BBT...

Lainey, there have been reports of them around NYS but I didn't take this.

It was from an artlcle about our area 3 years ago.
Mountains lions… in Corning? - Outdoors

On the eggnog, just make your usual and simmer lightly for a bit on the stove. It's enough to kill the bacteria. Homemade Eggnog: Make it Safely | FoodSafety.gov

Doris, good luck to your dh on the ear lobe surgery.
