Menus Nov 17 ~ Nov 23

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
5) Laughing is good exercise.. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.

Enjoy your week. Try to avoid the busy shopping times at the grocery. The stores will be stuffed.

Sunday's foods UD

another carby day, but at least my 'script came in yesterday so I can handle 'em...I think. I guess I'll see. I am planning on reducing the carbs after I've cleaned 'em out of the house...still undecided about the lc woe, but I know I feel better with reduced carbs, and low glycemic lifestyle.

coffee before and McD's after church as I met N there so her little one could play on the slide...

about 2 p.m., a McRib sandwich, and a diet soda

About 6 p.m., TGIF wings (from the freezer section and I'll not do them again, ycch), chips w/ cheese, celery heart and another diet soda

1500 kcals

BTW, the watermelon I bought thursday and hesitated over buying was a total waste....overripe and mushy...gave it to N as the four-year old loves slurpees and this will make good ones so at least it won't go to waste.

Mary, sorry about the watermelon not being "up to par", that happens to us, too. Our grandson loves watermelon. It's going to be hard to choose fresh fruits now. Most of the stuff here comes from Mexico or central America now.

Monday's foods

B: zuchinni, mushrooms, cut up. garlic, green onions, sautéed. 1/2 cup egg subs. flaxmeal. salsa. black coffee

L: dark pumpernickel slice, f/f sharp cheddar cheese, turkey, sandwich. H/B egg. grape tomatoes. iced coffee

Snack: Italian ice, lemon and iced coffee

D: if we go out, it's steak and spinach salad, iced tea or black coffee

Evening snack: low carb frozen bar, off brand. iced coffee
