MONDAY'S ROLL CALL, Oct. 28

Time to begin the last week of October, when I was young and in school, I really loved to go Trick or Treating, my first costume was a "witch", no surprise there...........

Oh that is adorable that Kitty. Ha! Love it Doris!

Where is everyone today? Temps are cooling off up here. I have the heating on now most days and off overnight so I can sleep. It has been raining over night but the sunshine is out now on the golden and colourful leaves and some blue in the sky, so Fall is happening, it goes so quickly this season.

Here is a pic of DGD on Saturday night at her year end Riding Banquet. The area riding stables crowd were all there and she received 1st prize for top rider and pony in the small pony division for 2013. Ella is on the left.

EllaBanquet2013.jpg

DS has arrived in Paris now so hopefully he has a smooth week with no kidney stone recurrence.

Thanks for the lead off Doris. Will you take your DGS to "trick or treat". How nice that you are close to the family.

Glad to hear Susan that your DS got off on his trip. I really think once the stone has passed he is out of danger. Some even carry those stones around for a while if they don't cause a problem.

Ella is such a lovely young girl and gifted for sure. What a wonderful honor for such a young gal. Were you able to be present at the event?

We are having some beautiful fall weather and the trees are beginning to color up. I enjoy the sights and smells of the fall season.

Good morning from the left coast...cloudy, cool and it looks like rain....at least that's what the prognosticators are saying. We'll see if they're on the mark. Snow level supposed to hit the 5000-foot level with maybe a foot of the cold stuff at our snow resort levels. Temps have been in the 20's and 30's in our mountains, so I'm sure the resorts will start making artificial snow so the snow bunnies will be happy. Where else can you go to the beach, surfing, and to the mountains for snow skiing on the same day?

Anyway, whatever happens in the weather department, I'm staying home...time to pay bills, folding the linens, and I've one more closet to clear out, tops and exercise/leisure stuff.

Susan, how great for the DGD....hope you were able to enjoy her day.

Hope you're having a good day and will type ya later.

Susan, what a sweet girl Ella is, and a great honor for her and her pony, too!! Isn't it good that she took up riding when she was younger, something to strive for and it's fun!

Loretta, I'm glad you are having the wonderful Fall colors coming in now in Kentucky. We are going with son and dil to a Halloween carnival, where they took Silas last year, it was fun, they have pony rides and things, so we won't even be home for Halloween. Yes, we are enjoying being with Silas and "the kids", lol. Always something to look forward to.

Lainey, I know you posted, read it myself last night. Have a good day, don't push yourself too hard.

Mary, on facebook last night, they had lightning and thunder in the area where we used to live, and they mentioned possible some snow tonight, and that it was "weird" because it started out sort of warm. How was the hot tub last night, did you stay in long? Do you have radio or tv while you are in there?

Julie, how are you doing, did your daughter arrive? How is your neighbor lady?

We have not heard from mother in law, she was going to go to rehab, could be there now.

Liver doctor's office is supposed to call today, about those danged meds that cost too much..........they promised.

The door technician arrived right on time, and the storm door with a screen on top is working well, we wanted some air to come into the house, it faces south and prevailing winds come that way.

Saw a flock of Cedar Waxwings early this AM, enjoying berries from the Crepe Myrtle trees.

Have a good day, friends, hoping you are able to do that..........

I woke up this morning to a wet deck. It had been lightly raining and was still coming down softly when I checked. I went and put the coats on the dogs so they didn't wig out while trying to relieve themselves. Me without a camera.

Needing some breakfast so check in with you all later.

Hi Sharon, did not get into "Alice"- DD has. I can count on one hand the shows I watch per week and like it like that. One or two movie DVDs per month is my limit there.
Mt. Washmore has turned or is turning into Mt. Everest so that is my 2nd project this morning... erps! afternoon. A long, long walk with Missy and Mary Ann of close to 2 hrs is already done.

Good morning everyone.

Loved both photos, The kitty and Ella :-)

The sun is out, so I hope to get some garden work done today, but got a late start as I slept til nearly 10.

Have a good one.

Forgot to post last night. Sorry about that.

Doris, hope that doctor calls about that very expensive medication. At least you got that new screen door in and working.

Susan, great for little Ella. She has to be so proud.

Hi Loretta, enjoy your lovely fall weather. I'm afraid ours has passed.

Mary, UGH!! It is that time of the month to pay bills. Just did ours.

Hi Lainey, yes you did post last night. I too saw it.
Darned laundry never seems to end, does it?

Hi ya Sharon, LOL next time you put the coats on the pups, please take your camera too.

Hi Babette, even though you slept in, there is still plenty of time left to garden. Enjoy.

Not much going on here today. Tomorrow it's off to the home town to visit.

Hi all!
Yes, my DD arrived Saturday night. Yesterday, we browsed a few clothing stores (bealls). Then ate at Outback Steakhouse. Today, we literally shopped til we dropped and then ate at Cracker Barrel. Came home and collapsed.
Very sadly, my neighbor and friend passed away Saturday .she was 66 years old. Died as a result of one of the ingredients in her chemo that started to shut her lungs down . There will be a memorial service on Friday for her at one of our clubhouses.
Thursday, we have an October fest meal, etc. here in the park

Oh that is just too young to die. So sorry to hear of your loss Julie.

Thank You to all your kind comments on DGD. Yes, we are so proud of her. She is riding in Toronto this weekend in a Big Ring. I just hope and pray that she stays on the pony. Scaredy-cat Grandma here!

Lainey and Sharon, I also love, 'The Paradise." on Masterpiece Sunday nights. I have 'Once Upon a Time in Wonderland' recorded but I haven't started watching that one yet. I do love 'Once Upon a Time' though, lovely costumes and scenery, the writers are amazing.

Waving to All and enjoy your evening and hope to bbt...

Julie, You were a good friend to your neighbor. You are a very special person and very brave to have been there for her.
