We are into the second week of zero rain, but fog so thick it's hard to breathe without scuba gear. Never seen annything like it. We were supposed to go to dinner and a movie tonight with friends, but driving is just too precarious.

Almost had a disaster on one of our ferries this morning:

Doris, thanks for the start off, yet again.
LOL yes little kids are a lot of fun but can wear us totally out.

Babette, Yikes on that fog. Be careful out there.

Marking my spot for tomorrow. Been real busy doing fiddly things.

Good morning all...I have risen from bed but neither the sun nor I are shining too much. Foggy and cool this morn and now the PTB are saying we may get some rain from the next "inland slider" expected from Babette's area on or about Tuesday. I'm wondering if this next one is the remmants of the huge storm they had in the Orient last week.

I've nothing planned for today so I'm sure I'll find some trouble to get into. I do need to go the closets again as last weekend when I was searching for a dress to wear I ran across several that were waaaay too big for me to wear....tee hee. So perhaps that will be the plan for the day. Plus I do have to fold a couple loads of sheets we ran yesterday.

Hope everyone is busy doing good things, not something related to bad things. It's Friday, let's enjoy it.

Good morning, I woke up to overcast here and have been hearing about rain coming to us sometime next week too. Right now it's perfect walking weather. We'll be taking advantage of that in a bit. I have to make sure I don't slack too much so today's a good day to get out there and do the quick step.

DS and DIL stopped by yesterday just in time for dinner. They stayed and had some of my experiment meal of spaghetti casserole. It's a keeper and so easy to prepare. I used zoodles for the noodles and they loved it.

Have a nice day everyone. Will be checking from time to time.

Begete, what is the reasoning behind that heavy, extra thick fog? Sounds like it's mixed with pollution from China or something, like pea soup, as they used to say, how awful for you!!

Mary, how are you today, have you looked at the animal shelter to find a home for your dog yet, or is there not one there where you live?

Sharon, the big "rain" in the sunny forecast, it's sure that time of year though. I keep forgetting to check when the time change is, another thing to get used to. Do you get morning fog there during winter? Like Oregon?

Linda, nice to see you "pop in" and set for another busy weekend.

We wound up getting out early, went to that pack & parcel place to have them pack up an older lap top that my brother gave me, I haven't used it yet because my usual one is still working, lol, so sending it to my friend back in our little town, her unit broke completely, so she needs one, hasn't been online for over a month already. Then hurried to Tom Thumb to pick up fresh fruit for dh, and this and that.

Hope to go visit the Dallas Zoo on Sunday, if the weather holds out ok, even the kids have never been there.

Enjoy the day, if you are able, friends!

Babette, Jo and I got stuck in the San Juan's on the boat years ago. The fog was just too thick to run the Straits from the Islands to Anacortes. You could see the Cascade mountains above the fog but at water level you couldn't see 10' in front of you.

Actually it brings back fond memories of our boating days.

Yes, 1961 - 64. East coast. Was involved in the Cuban blockade aboard the USS Joseph P. Kennedy DD850.

We get some fog in the mornings this time of year but it isn't the type that you can't see across the street. By noon it's gone and blue sky comes back. It's been like that for a couple of days now. Still in the 70's. Nice!

Oh dang, Nov. 3, lol, for some reason, I thought it was farther off than that, thanks!

Doug, so you were on the Joseph Kennedy, East coast, my dh was stationed in San Diego, on the USS Dixie, 1965 to 1969.

It's suddenly turned cool, cold wind, had to put socks and shoes on, lol.

Have a good evening, friends!

I think you guys will love the Dallas Zoo! Do try to visit while the weather is cool, you'll have a good time. Bring your camera - lots of good picture taking!

They're having a special Halloween event tomorrow night - see if you're interested: Halloween Nights | www.dallaszoo.com

Glad to see everyone else is doing well,

Thanks Linda for Zoodles info.

I make the cauliflower pot. salad all the time and love it- in a great hurry I just add the Helmon's and a drap of pickle juice... but celery, onion, hint of mustard and it is a fine pot sal- I make lots of it as it keeps well and taste better & better. SO, I'll be up to do the noodles and add them to my life. I bought two tins of white clam sauce (i freshen with fresh lemon juice) and might give it a try with those noodles.
Got up and put Mom's quilt on my bed during the night last night- so cozy of her.
Sweet Dreams everyone bbt

Hey all....Lainey, before I bought the gizmo that makes the zookles with the turn of a crank, I used to make zucchini noodles by just slicing them very thinly. I make fettucini for the DH and make mine half & half with the veggie and the noodles. Quite nice. If you slice the squash only lengthwise and not slicing them into thin strips, you can use them in your veggie lasagna.

I spent the day in a cloud of dust...mostly emptied three closets, rearranged stuff so that stuff that's not used is in the back of the extra room's closet, all the coats I wear are in the hall closet and my skirts are dresses are arranged neatly in the back of my main closet. I"ve still to clear the rest of that one and one more to go. I tried on all my skirts and dresses and bagged those that are too large. Found a couple that need slight mending, buttons sewed on...and have a couple of jackets that need to go to the cleaners. That will be the first trip to the cleaners in about 12 years...yikes! I have about four dozen empty hangers and only a about 20 clothes I'm disposing of....I think hangers multiply while hiding in the closet. Can't figure that out as I had no empty hangers in the closet before I started this job.

Tomorrow my new hot tub is delivered so t'will be a couple of days before I can use it. But I'll have a busy day emptying the other closets and trying on the slacks for fit. Those slacks I was so excited about finding recently...the waist is about an inch or so too large already....sigh! I knew I should have waited to buy new clothes, but I was excited to find pants that didn't bag in the derriere. Oh well, they are still good for a while...but then I'll have to buy some more....tee hee!

Gotta shower the dust off and settle in for the night...hope you had a good day, too.

Good Saturday to all.

Enjoying my coffee whilst I wait for Ms. SuSun's and Aaunt Jane's shrimp to steam. I buy the raw easy peel- waaay better taste than the cooked easy-peel (Yes, I sneak one once in a while).
Mommy's blankie (beautiful quilt) had me sleeping so well last night- best in months and months.
Gotta get my nutso forms faxed this day or die- food stamps renewal and I think the forms are ment to discourage applicants. They have to be renewed yearly and are a beast. A social worker at my cancer support used to help me but she moved on and the new one I waited too long to ask her. D*mn, I make my own grief all the time.
Well, gotta get a going.
MARY, I actually can close one of my closet's doors since last week- one down and four to go.
bbl
WE HAD FROST this morning but 79 derees coming thursday. The time after an 80 degree temp. that follows a freeze (is a frost a freeze? I think so) is considered by the Native Americans to be "INDIAN SUMMER". Oh, I so love Indian Summer.
Y'all have a good one! I want Anne BACK.
