WEDNESDAY'S Roll Call, Oct. 23

The big ole HUMP DAY, gang!

Just hearing the words "bone marrow test" makes me shudder. I'm a chicken!

Wednesday is another phone call day, need to call Medicare, seems they didn't get the message from Social Security that we have moved........I called this afternoon and was warned that there might be a 2 hr. wait, to please call again. I guess they don't do like Social Security, and call you back, that worked out very well last time. dh's expensive med is still on the back burner, the specialist was not able to come to his office last week, due to too many liver transplants to do.

Hugs to those not up to par, . Keeping you in mind, even if I don't mention your names often enough, friends.

Thanks again for the start off Doris. Sorry I didn't make it in today, been busy.

Glad G is on top of the pre planning cremation. Did that quite a few years ago myself.

Hi Babette, are you not sleeping well? Sure hope not.
Hope that fog lifts for you.

Brother is back in Missoula after a very long and exhausting flight. It was a short, fun but very busy visit, AND we are all pooped.

I won't be around in the morning and not sure when I'll get back....it's Hi Ho, Hi Ho, ir'a off to the docs I go (again) in the morn. Eye doc, with a stop at the vampires to make another donation, and the infusion clinic for the bone stuff in the early afternoon. It's a DD for the woe, just hope it doesn't turn into a total down day. Will check in with you all when I return.

Have a good day folks and I hope good things come your way.

G'Day All,

I didn't get here yesterday. I had my CPR renewal at work, oh joy! The old knees are not what they used to be. Glad its done for another year.

WE have a pretty Fall day up here, still lots of Fall colour around, blue sky and lots of sunshine, we did have some rain showers yesterday so typical Fall weather. Loving the sunshine.

Oh Yuk Doug on that bone marrow test, betcha glad that is over. Yes, keep us posted on your results.

Lainey, WE saw it in regular as DS can't stand 3D. I'll bet you had a terrific show like that.

Loretta, that is my plan too donate me to our local Health Sciences University then with DH.

Mary, Happy trails and get back to us safely after this mornings run around.

Waving to All and hope to check back later...

Good HUMP DAY to all,

Am just getting up with my 20oz coffee fix all but a 1/4 down. PLEASE anyone for suggestions for charley horses please chime in. I took a double dose of PM OC leg cramp medicine and then had to hobble back to the kitchen for a muscle relaxant- never heard of taking that but I figured "Hey" it is the muscles that are killing me so why not. It worked but knocked me out till almost 9: this am. My internist said she did not think any of that stuff- salt, bananas, club soda, etc. really did anything. I had them in both legs from the feet/toes all the way to the hips and my left hand kept seizing as well. Most painful I have ever had them with actual loud moaning and groaning- Help me! Knowing the heart is a muscle is kinda scary.
Time to get a move on- Mt. Washmore is waiting still.
bbl
Oh, someone please run the Camel commercial again- it makes me feel better. I tried findin it here but I couldn't. Is there some way I could save it to my computer? cause I sure would and watch it most days of the week.

Good Morning, still morning, I think........
Lainey, my dh was told to eat a small banana everyday, and when he gets tired of bananas and quits buying them, he gets a cramp again, so that is what works for him. I won't mention any meds on here, they don't like that. So your doctor won't give you any tip? Tell her how bad those cramps are, that is more than a simple charley horse, when it seizes your hand.

Susan, that must have been something, to do that CPR test, glad that it's over with now, for another year. I'm sure you are enjoying all the lovely Fall colours where you live!

Mary, wishing you well with all of your tests and whatnot they do to you today, you may need to actually eat something good today

Begete, is it still foggy today, or has some kind of wind moved in, finally?

Linda, I bet you guys are tuckered out, even talking a lot can make a person tired, we have noticed this. We bought this creamation plan back in 1993, and never dreamed we would be moving away, and only recently happened to think about it, plus changing our will. Right now, just getting ahold of Medicare to change our address seems to be the bugaboo.

Still feeling badly for Doug and the bone marrow test, dang!!

Had a call from our friends in Calif. this AM, it's so cold there, needing the woodstove all the time already, but the Fall colors are great.

Time to "man the phones"...............

It is still really foggy. That's a double problem. Too damp and cold to garden, but not enough water for plants.

Susan - that is just too cute!

Hi, not much happening here so just been reading everyones newsy posts. Susan that little guy is adorable in your picture. One must be careful he doesn't get stepped on, huh.

Doris hopefully you get through to your Medicare people today. I hate it when they put you on hold or you start your call by trying to talk to a robot voice. Ugh!

Lainey I suffer muscle pain sometimes but now I take magnesium and that seems to help mine. I would talk about this with your doctor. Just my 2 cents.

Our worm farm is now gone. We turned them loose in areas of our garden so they could enjoy freedom. It was an experiment that didn't work for us.

Mary enjoy a nice meal when you are done with your tests today.

Linda enjoy your relaxing day. It's nice to see family members but oh so nice to get back to normal living again when it's over.

Have a great day to everyone that I missed. BBL

Finally took the time to look at the picture from Susan, what a tiny puppy, a person could put it into her purse, and have to be careful that it didn't get lost in there!! How cute!

I was very surprised, it didn't take too long to talk to a live person at Medicare at all, just have to listen to their menu, and keep pressing "other" and soon enough, a young man came on. My dh had the longest wait, he had to listen to a long statement that he was giving me the right to speak for him, whenever I talk to Medicare again, on his behalf, he had to agree to everything..............he hates to talk on the phone, so wholeheartedly agreed, lol.

Going to fix dh a lamb chop he bought at Costco, almost like a steak, I'm marinating it in Italian salad dressing now. Doing eggplant with it, dh loves eggplant.

Pleasant day to you all, if you are able to get by.

LOL, I hate talking on the phone and often in person. Just not much of a talker.

Lainey, it can't hurt to try taking a magnesium tablet every day and drink Diet Tonic. This is what I've been doing for years and it works. My doctor does the same for his cramps.

Just heard on the weather report that 5 to 9" of snow is going to hit the Tug hill plateau just north of us tonight. Oh well, it is that time of the year.

Don't think I have ever seen magnesium pill in the supps. isle. Will look again. I did see a bottle of magnesium liquid but that was a laxative- I could NOT do that as I am the opposite of constipation. I do buy diet tonic all the time. As I said in my post my INTERNIST said she did not think all those things did not work.?? I could actually feel the knots in my muscles that is how bad it was.
I am sleepy so I guess I'll miss tv again tonight. HULU will love me.

Magnesium tabs are available in Wal Mart and as I said, both Tom and Mike, my physicians said they work for them.

Just call your doctor up and ask the nurse to ask the doctor, they know what meds you take, and can offer you some safe tips to try, one at a time, to see if they work for you or not. Buy the smallest size of magnesium or whatever, in case it doesn't work, worth a try. My dh can't take those things, but he takes weird meds.

It is sort of warmish tonight, have to open a window in the bedroom to make it a bit cooler, odd thing, or we are changing hormones or something, lol.

I need to fool around with our answering thingee in these new phones, people tell me they left messages, but I don't have any of them on here, even mother in law left a message from the hospital Hate these modern contraptions, liked the old fashioned answering machines better.

Have a good night's rest, everyone.
Doug, my husband would probably get along very well with you!!!

Lainey, The diet tonic works for me, but with your previous cancer treatments I don't know if magnesium is such a good idea because it can have a laxative effect. The best thing might be to ask the oncologist since you're not getting any useful information from the internist. Hope you find something to help you soon -

Waving to everyone else - good to see you all are doing well,

Michele

Finally back home and put my feet up for a while...of course, didn't sleep well last night, it seems I seldom do when I have an early morning call. It was fun driving with the early-morning traffic. All those folks having to be somewhere early and driving like fools. It was so foggy this morning I hated the thought of driving in it but it wasn't really that bad; the traffic was so heavy it was just follow the leader through the canyon and the burros weren't in sight. Well, maybe they were and we just couldn't see 'em for the fog.

Thanks for the concern about eating today and I decided early on it would be an up day for me. Since the blood test was a fasting one, I grabbed something on the way to my first appointment. It's usually a long wait at the eye clinic but not as long as this morning. After an hour I inquired as to my status, and sure enough, the clerk had not checked me in. So they did and moved me up in the line. I'm kind of relieved in that my doc has relinquished the exclusivity and I saw another doc today. They rechecked my eyes for glasses and there was such a small change, they did not order new ones....so that's a good thing. (BTW, I wasn't concerned so much about the time because I had four hours between my appointments today.)

Lainey, the magnesium works wonders, not the liquid for constipation but the capsules. I've taken them for years and have rarely had the cramps. I also learned in basic training when I had them almost every night that cold something held against the cramp relieves it quite well. I used the metal frames of my cot whenever I'd have one grab me and it relieved the cramp immediately. Try and ice pack and see if that helps any. I keep a large vase beside my bed in case one pops up again.

Guess that's it for now, will be back manana...hope the day was good for you.
