Sort of reminds me of Loretta Lynn's song, "Coal Miner's Daughter", they went to sleep cause they were 'tarrd", I used to think the words were "they went to sleep cause they worked hard".........

Sunday's foods and frolic

B: zucchini cut up, mushrooms, garlic, sautéed. 1/2 cup egg subs. added. flaxmeal, salsa. Grated parm on top. coffee

L: pumpernickel bread, 2 slices, light laughing cow cheese and turkey. H/B eggs. black olives. iced coffee

Snack: nothing, iced coffee

D: brisket of beef, perhaps in corn tortillas, salad and iced tea.

Evening snack: Italian ice, 2 servings and iced coffee, made extra already.

We're feeling a little like Fall here on the Central Coast so made a nice venison soup that just fit the bill. DS and granddaughter came by and we had a nice bowl with a bun. It was filling and my reward this morning was another pound down on my scale. Life is good. Finally showing some progress. I've steamed some eggs and now the steamer has some sweet and reg. potatoes in it for later.

Enjoy the joy of eating and make it healthy. :)

Sunday's foods DD
Well, I did leave the house...made a run to the commissary for TP, milk and eggs...jeez! I had 10 items on my list, bought a couple more but it was still over $100. I know I've whined about it before but I am absolutely amazed at how much stuff costs...regular stuff, nothing special...oh well, I guess I can't have just $20 for a week's grocery anymore (and that was for two of us)....sigh!

coffee/milk, B about 1300, two soft boiled eggs and a glass of trop 50 for the pills.

S. will be lo soup, freshened up with some roast tomatoes and kale...

Yesterday we helped with a dinner at church to show appreciation. Father is going to take those that helped out to eat one day this or next week.

Monday: coffee

low carb cranberry nut bar
6:00: not sure, salad wine, that I'm sure about
Snack: peanuts, CF diet soda

Just started my slow cooker once again. This time it's boneless skinless chicken breasts with a can of ortega chillies, can of diced tomatoes and jar of green salsa. Topped it all with a drizzle of olive oil flavored with garlic. It's going to cook all day on low. That's for dinner along with a side salad. Sometime during the day I'll have some kefir, peach slices defrosted, and faux oatmeal. Have to get in my dark chocolate somewhere in there.

Daughter in law made brisket in her slow cooker, it tasted good, but could have been in there longer, we put it in tortilla's that they bought fresh from Cabana's. Had salad with it, usual "duh" salad.

Monday's foods

B: cut up zucchini, mushrooms, garlic, sautéed. 1/2 cup egg subs. flaxmeal and salsa. Grated parmesan on top. iced water

L: 2 H/b eggs, light laughing cow cheese triangles, and Sara Lee toasted bread, 2 slices. iced coffee

Snack: Italian ice, lemon and iced coffee

D: leftover grilled pork chop and orange cauliflower with cheese sprinkles on top. iced coffee

Evening snack: Italian ice, raspberry and iced coffee, cheese stick

Monday's Eats UD
Got stabbed again for the CT scan...I had read that I'd get a flush from the iodine injection, just didn't realize how strong it would be. Now I've blood bruises from the blood tests and both scans...big ones. Thank goodness I'm not stuck by these people normally, be glad to get back to the VA where I've rarely had a bad draw. After the scan, decided to go to the middle eastern store and check it out. The one I used to go to closed several years ago, and I didn't know this one was there...and to WINCO to stock up my bulk stuff, nuts & beans. Also picked up the sausage to make the soup...looking forward to that.

B. Had to eat early due to the cat scan and the need for a four hour fast coffee/milk, basted eggs & bacon, grilled bread and crystal light for the pills

L. Had a slice of pizza at WINCO, yecch! won't do that again, not bad really, I'm just spoiled with our regular pizza place...water to go with. a few brazil nuts when I was putting them away.

S. lo chicken coronet with a bit of brown rice, pinot tonight

1400 kcals, so probably made my goal for the day.

Mary, I sympathize with you for all the sticking of needles and tests you have had lately, no fun, but what can a person do, can't do them at home! My son had never had these kinds of things done to him, so we were worried extra. When do you have to go again for these things, every 3 months or 6 months?? We have made the mistake of buying some piece of pizza somewhere unusual, just because we were hungry, and yucky is the word for that kind of stuff.

Breakfast was a mixture of flax meal, chia seeds, and shredded unsweetened coconut with some cinnamon added. Poured hot water over a 1/2 cup of it and mixed in some cream. It made for a nice hot cereal.

crockpot mexican chicken will be for lunch and dinner not sure yet. I have 2 gluten free muffins left so one will be added in the menu also some fruit with kefir and my chocolate sq. Those are staples. Ha!

L: out to lunch at a fish restaurant, had grilled tilapia and spinach sauté, some corn in a bowl. nice, strong, hot coffee.

Snack: no time, iced coffee

D: leftovers, probably burger patty and bought a lot of salad so will begin to use that up, not hungry for much more, lunch filled us up.

Getting tired of having to re-log so often,don't know if it's my puter or them.I always click on remember me but I guess they don't.lol
Just come in from getting the horses in their stalls with their night feed.C is gaming,we don't gamble in Louisiana.lol
My back is giving me fits,babied it all day but didn't help much.
C. brother has cancer on his gums,going to MDAnderson next week.He is C's only sib.
He never smoked or chewed.
Thinking of Louise and Susan,take care ladies.

Wednesday's Food UD
Babette, that kale/sausage soup is fantastic. Up to now my fav soup made from italian sausage has been Olive Garden's Zuppa Tuscana and this is so much better (no only because I don't have to pick out the potatoes). Great blend of flavors.

coffee/milk and about noon three Taco Bell Tacos. Don't know why I continue to order three because two would have been aplenty.

snack when I got back to the house, worn out...diet soda, 2 orange slice candies and half ounce of filbers

S. Babette's soup, slice of cheese bread with a couple slices of capicolla and pepperoni, pinot grigio.

Brunch at "The Egg & I", never went there before. Had a Wisconsin omelette, 4 cheeses and some green onions. Lots of black coffee.

Snack: iced coffee, Italian ice cup

D: roasted chicken legs pieces from Costco, steamed cauliflower and grape tomatoes. iced coffee

Evening snack: baby bel light cheese and Skinny Cow frozen fudge bar on a stick. iced coffee
