EXERCISE WEEK, Sept. 8 - Sept. 14

Let's go get up and do it, whatever we have time and energy to do this week, and with luck, the weather will change to something more comfortable.

Weights and weight bar this morning.

Nope, have not begun the hours of sitting on the bike yet, there are actually things to do, here, lol. Also, when I do it now and then, my ankle and big toe have pain. So walking, sideways dancing, is it for me for now.

dh is disappointed, since moving here, all those soccer games have gone to an NBC channel that you have to pay extra for, and Fox does not show them anymore, and this time zone means those games aren't on until the afternoon, and then very late at night, messes up his usual game plan. Our plan now is to walk the neighborhood, not just the alley, once it cools off.

Doris, Do you have one of those DVR things - that way you could tape them and then watch them whenever you wanted. It just wouldn't be in real time. I bet your son would know how to hook one up. Just an idea...

Yes Michele, we have one of those things, but my dh refuses to learn to use one. He never would learn to use a VCR, either, nor does he ever touch a computer or the cell phone. And so it goes...............

yep Sharon, he was telling the garage door guy about it, when the guy says he sends the receipt for the job to our email address, and dh says, that he never uses it, but that I would print it out. That place even sends a photo of the tech who is coming to your house!!

We actually danced this morning, Rolling Stones, Mavarick's, and assorted early country artists, cha cha, and line dancing. That's it for today, except for kitchen counter stuff.

My friend John won and I pod at a church raffle and low and behold he is using it quite a bit. I am surprised that he latched on to it. He does have a cell phone but won't text.

You might enjoy walking the neighborhood, Doris. Are there sidewalks?

Walk and got the upper body done but need to get off my butt and get it moving NOW.

Loretta, John is a smart man, I don't really even know what an ipod looks like, wouldn't know one if it was on the floor right now, in fact. lol If I ever get a more modern cell phone, I won't text, either. Have nothing to say in a few short words.
There are sidewalks here, yes, but some people use the street if they want to go fast, mostly men, in my estimation. The older women with doggies use the sidewalk. So far, everyone we meet is friendly or waves as you drive by, particularly in the alley.
Does John use the ipod while driving, is that what you do with it, listen to it instead of the radio?

John does not use it for music. He likes to get on line and check the weather, stock reports and play a game called slots. You need to have wi fi access to get on line and have a wireless router at home.

See, Loretta, right there I'd be up the creek, don't even know what an Ipod really is, lol.

Susan, you used up a lot of energy today, you deserve to sit and chill out watching hopefully something good on tv!!!

Have a good night!

We found our way to that voting office in McKinney, parked too far, but doesn't matter because we wanted to walk. Had a good time with the people there. Then they drew us a map to find the middle of town, the square where all the shops and restaurants are, so we found our way there ok. Had lunch and walked the whole square, it would be nicer to do it again when cooler weather finally hits here, next month is what they tell us.

So, that's what I did, walk McKinney square, lol. Putting groceries away now, due to shopping at Wal Mart, kids will be here 2 nights, and Sunday, gotta buy their "stuff".

I know you are waiting for cooler weather, Loretta, Mary, Linda and Susan, Sharon and Michele!! I wonder where Ron went, maybe to the Men's threads.

We have been out walking the boys for the last couple of days now. My legs have been doing pretty good. Slow and steady for me but so far so good.

Sharon, I'm glad that your legs are not being so painful to you lately!!

Am still waiting for the appt. with the orthopedist for my foot/heel spur. I called yesterday to remind them, but still nothing.

We're back in the 70's so we'll be heading out early for our walk. I want to get a roast so I can do a pot roast like the Pioneer Woman did on her show. Boy it looked good and so easy with the slow cook method. It went into the oven roasted for 3-4 hrs at 275 degrees. That thing just fell apart. Exactly what I like.

Doris it's a slow walk but with the dogs pulling me along I do work up a sweat.

Good for you, Sharon........and I bought a cheap pot roast yesterday because you mentioned it, had forgotten how to make one, almost. Found thin cut chuck steak at Wal Mart for $5.99, so I've got it in the pot right now, with onions. Slowly cooking.

Did weight bar, 6 lb. weights, and squats without weights. Jack LaLanne chair exercises. Laundry is getting done, while I straighten up the place for when the kids come later on.

Walked only 40 mins as the heaven's opened so we had to run to the car. Hah!

Some gentle stretches for my right knee, tissue damage takes longer to heal.
It's been a month now.

Yum...Did You say Pot Roast...

We wound up walking Wal Mart, from end to end, whether we wanted to or not, and then went to Target, and did the same thing, lol.

Washed dishes by hand, bought a new, larger pot to cook potatoes in, since the small one I normally used didn't make enough potatoes for the kids at all! lol

That's it for me for today. Cleaning up the area where Silas plays. It's warm and more humid today.

Susan, after living here for only about 2 months, I vote that there is a Holiday for the Birthday of whomever invented A/C !!! I can't imagine living here without it, and all the clothes people had to wear in the "old" days, and just trying to wash the dust off, good heaven's !!!

Walked the Park for about an hour, then sitting at a picnic table for about another hour.

Walked the dog for 20 mins on the bike path

Waist twists and stretches.

Only 20lbs to go!
