Just a quick check in. See everyone in the morning. Thank you for the new start off Doris.

Thanks Doris for letting us all come in! Hi everyone!
Got some real sore muscles this morning from toting that weed whacker all over the front yard. Lots of rain over night so have to wait to rake for some drying out to happen. Just as well- needin a break from that gall dern front yard. On the good news front though- I finally have a baby egg plant after a hundred beautiful healthy purple flowers just simply "fell" off one by one. My peppers are finally growing some peppers- think I have only had a couple or three cukes all summer... they try but something eats the little baby cukes. I am thinking bunnies. The snails mostly won the yellow squash battle but I did enjoy a couple a week and some times a few more for my omelets (egg beaters) in the mornins. The "bird" and giant green "beetles" have been a horror to fiht for the "figs". Next year I am seriously considering a "NET". I now have so many figs on the tree that I do et plenty for the fridge. I so enjoy makin a meal of Feta Cheese/ EVOO and the halved (only way to check for bugs inside) figs. I automatically take two Imodiums before eatin that plate. OH, I think I figured out how DAD delt with the birds!!! He beat them to the tree by being there first and getting the figs before they ot there.
Sorry for prattling on this morning. I would normally be outside enjoying the first of 3 morning 100's ciggys with my coffee. So glad I do not do that anymore.

Good Morning, "gang".
Lainey, glad you are a free breathing gal this morning, enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Sharon, that danged fire near Yosemite is so awful, and now it may affect water in San Francisco, too, we just saw that on the news just now, goodness!

Off to put wash into the machine, and get on with dh's breakfast.

Good Day, friends..........:high5:

Dear dear! We camp on the backside of Yosemite. While we were there this year we smelled some smoke in the air. We were told later that there where out of control fires around Corsegold. Not sure the spelling. The forest is so dense there is no way to fight it but by air.

Good morning all..that Rim Fire at Yosemite is really bad and the gov has declared a disaster area as it is truly a bad one. Hoping the firefighters and all the crews are safe and they get it under control soon.

Typical Saturday here, but what else is new? Hope you have good things planned and it's good for you.

Begete 08-24-2013 09:26 AM

Good morning,

Off to the Farmers Market and then the Annual Artists' studio tour both today and tomorrow.

Have a good one.

mykneesareback 08-24-2013 09:45 AM

I'll look that fire up, we have friends that live in Coarsegold, up the side of a hill, we stayed at the casino near there, back when we visited Yosemite 2 yrs ago, in the wintertime. We used to live near Fresno, so Yosemite was one of the first places relatives took we immigrants. Danged shame, but every fire is a danged shame, of course..........

Mary, do you have any more car races to watch this weekend?

Begete, you will enjoy that Farmer's Market for sure, how many more weeks do they have it there?

Doug_H 08-24-2013 09:48 AM

Good morning everyone,

Not much going on here except enjoying this RV resort very much AND the price is very good although the internet leaves a lot to be desired. Oh well .:dunno:

Doug, Tod retired at age 48 after 20 years on the fire dept. :annoyed:

Off to enjoy our last day here. Should have booked another week, but we didn't.

Having a nice Saturday here in Ky despite the heat. Leah had a soft ball game and Uncle Phil is here. We had a nice visit while watching the game. They won the first and had another but it was way to hot for Gram out there.

Might play some scrabble this evening w DS. Hope he has time for it.

Enjoy the weekend folks.

Hi Friends,

Another gorgeous day again up here. I went on the Walk with the ladies group this morning around the Park and waterfront, lovely to see the sail boats out there. A pretty scene everywhere you look.

Doris, Mary, Sharon, Oh those fires are dreadful. Yosemite is so beautiful. I heard that 1600 firefighters have left Canada to help fight it.

Waving at All glad to hear from you all, positive thoughts and prayers for those needing them. :aprayer::heart::hugs:
