EXERCISE WEEK, Aug.24 - Aug.31

I've not been paying close attention to the dates, wondering why the TV keeps having Labor Day Sales Ads on "already", until I looked at the tiny calander on the desk and discovered the month is almost gone. Hot Dang!

We shall all keep on movin' and groovin', I'm sure of it, no prodding from me needed. :high5:

mykneesareback 08-23-2013 07:28 PM

I'm doing this now, so I don't forget, folks.

Saturday there is a Carnival at Silas's school, so grandparents are encouraged to attend, there are supposed to be games and stuff  Should be fun for awhile, anyway!

Shalbrihil 08-23-2013 10:27 PM

Oh boy sounds like a fun time for all. Enjoy! I'm aiming for a walk with the boys in the morning. Feeling pretty good today.

mykneesareback 08-24-2013 11:45 AM

Only weights this morning, and kitchen counter pushups, each level of counter, lol, they are not all the same, someone short lived here at some point. That's it for today.

Loretta V 08-24-2013 01:25 PM

Got that walk in early but it was hot already.

3.88 miles, no workout yet. Not sure if I will get to it today.

SuSUN 08-24-2013 02:16 PM

Walked around the waterfront park for 2 hours.

Will walk the dog later for 30 mins too.

mykneesareback 08-25-2013 09:34 AM

Not doing anything special today, only accidental exercise, kids coming over and so forth. Today is a high humidity day, can feel it inside the house.

SuSUN 08-25-2013 11:32 AM

Arm and shoulder routine with 5lb hand weights

Floor exercises for Glut and Abs

Will walk the dog later for 30 mins

Loretta V 08-25-2013 06:27 PM

Did manage a walk at the Mall today. John wanted to walk after we had our celebration with Leah and family at the Pasta House. I suggested that since it was so hot outside that we mall walk. Glad I had some tennis shoes in the car.

Loretta V 08-26-2013 07:14 AM

Out for an early walk today and it was very nice temperature wise being in the low 70s with not much humidity.

mykneesareback 08-26-2013 12:01 PM

Enjoy the low temps, Loretta. We are in for some brutal numbers this week, but then it should improve, so "they" say.

Walked the strip mall next to Tom Thumb, there were some stores there we didn't even know about, so we could have copies made there, closer than any of the other places we had been too, just didn't know.

Weights and kitchen counter pushups, daughter in law wanted to be shown how to do them, yesterday, lol.

SuSUN 08-26-2013 02:21 PM

You will be a good influence on your DDIL...Doris. And a terrific inspiration as always.

1 hour Walk around the geese n duck pond and up into the surrounding woods.

30 mins Walk on the bike path with my little dog

Arms and chest are too sore from yesterday, to do any more weights today.

Ron2196 08-27-2013 11:10 AM

Day 2 of no carbs. Walked dog for 30 minutes ran for 20. Still trying to figure out the website.

Loretta V 08-27-2013 11:27 AM

Ron I do think you need some carbs. Veggies for one thing. You need some carbs for the running and walking for sure.

You will find your way around here just keep looking the site over until you find what you want or ask one of us.

Walked for 60 min and finished exercise workout. Might walk again this afternoon w John.

Shalbrihil 08-27-2013 12:49 PM

Ron I try to get my carbs in whole foods. The fiber is there to keep your carbs used for metabolism and energy. Don't leave out those veggies and a little fruit. Just eat them whole not refined.

mykneesareback 08-27-2013 01:45 PM

Hi Ron, your brain exists on carbs, so no point in doing without them, can't last long that way :dunno: Don't be fooled.

Danced line dancing this morning, seems I can move sideways better than walking fast. Weights and kitchen counter pushups, different heights.
That's it for today, busy day around here.

SuSUN 08-27-2013 06:36 PM

Walked for an hour with DD, DGD and Billy the dog around a large pond and surrounding woods.

Walked my little dog around the bike path, 20 mins.

That's it for today, steamy weather zapping my energy.

Ron2196 08-27-2013 08:52 PM

Oh I will get back to some healthy carbs (maybe a glass of wine tomorrow night? LOL). I am just trying to go cold turkey on cookies and such. Kicking sugar can be a little hard. There should be a patch.

Ron2196 08-28-2013 08:43 AM

Dog walked 30 minutes at 5:30 AM, yoga at 4 this afternoon.
Why does everyone seem to have a picture but me? My profile shows one.

Shalbrihil 08-28-2013 10:39 AM

Ron, go to user control panel at the top and click on edit avitar which is located on the left side. You will be able to choose from your computer by choosing custom or some that's provided. Make sure after you select what you want to save at the bottom. Your profile pic is nice. What breed dog? Collie, Shepard? So pretty.

mykneesareback 08-28-2013 11:54 AM

I don't see any picture for Ron, but it could be my computer issue. Hard to lower the boom on starches, especially when you realize it has to be life long, so therefore, there will be ups and downs, it's the nature of the beast.

We walked all over the place today, but didn't plan it that way, went to the blood test place, it wasn't where we thought, so walked all over the hospital parking lot, through the hospital to a whole other building, and up to the 3rd floor, lol. Well, NOW we know, at least, since dh has to go there every 6 weeks, for the rest of his life. Then walked all over Lowe's, and bought stuff that we really didn't need, (plant wise), but oh well. It was not too hot yet, so we had car windows open.

Doing kitchen counter pushups and weights and weight bar today, but no more walking.

SuSUN 08-28-2013 02:18 PM

Lovely Pic of You Ron with your pooch. Adorable doggie.

Arm and shoulder 5lbs hand weights routine

Floor exercise for Glut and Abs

Walk to dog on the bike path 20 mins.

Ron2196 08-28-2013 03:26 PM

"Shal" thank you for the help on the avatar. I will see if it works. Thank you and SuSun for the compliment. Yes that is my boy Joe in the picture, a full blooded collie. Or a "Lassie" as a lot of folks say. I have to get my rear off to yoga now before I eat the bark off a tree. HUNGRY!!! WANT CHOCOLATE!!! LOL

mykneesareback 08-28-2013 06:04 PM

Oh Ron, that is a beautiful Collie! We had one years ago, "Sunny", lived to be 14, was a great dog and good with our kids. :)

Loretta V 08-28-2013 06:46 PM

It's a very nice picture Ron. Beautiful dog and his master.

Did walk yesterday again for another 3 miles/

Walk and workout today. 3.8 miles.

Ron2196 08-29-2013 11:12 AM

Hi you crazy kids! I got in a 30 minute dog walk and a 20 minute run today so far. Denver is expected to be 97 degrees today! The Bronco's are going to be miserably hot for tonight's pre-season game. I suppose Joe the Collie will have to have his evening walk no matter what the heat.

I am trying out a watch today that supposedly counts your steps and evn gives you a heart rate from some outfit called NB.

mykneesareback 08-29-2013 12:55 PM

Yeah, Ron, the game here is going to be nasty hot, people will be leaving with the ambulance for sure tonight. Some of us use pedometers with good success or they are poopy and a waste, hope you got a good one!

Danced today, we had on 2 1/2 hrs. of German music and the nice floor of wood now, but that's all I did.

Loretta V 08-29-2013 02:07 PM

Hottest day here in Ky also. Got my walk in early in the pre dawn light.

Exercise workout upper and lower body.

Thank you for the nice words SuSun.
Is that you in that picture/avatar? I may be in love! LOL

SuSUN 08-29-2013 07:10 PM

Ron, No I wish! That is my inspiration pic. :D

Walked around Costco, lifting and loading the car, unloaded.

Walked the dog round the bike path and back.

That's all for today.
