Good morning and thanks Doris.

Very hot today but storms and a cool down by tomorrow niht. Weather peep just said he believes we will have an EARLY fall set up- oh boy, oh boy- don't I hope.
Congestion from the stopping smoking is clearing more and more each day and I am amazed at the difference. Sleeping is a huge improvment and I thought I was sleeping just fine.
Ms. SuSun and Aaunt Jane are enjoying a early breakfast of steamed shrimp (Janie loves the juice in her own little dish) and a little Meow Mix in their regular all day dish. Sure do love my pretty girls.
I think it rained during the night and is supposed to storm again this afternoon but my little corner of the world rarely matches the areas all around tiny town of South Norfolk.
bbl I do kinda of miss the start the day smoke- hate them #$%^^@% things.

Good morning one and all,

Nothing going on here. I cleaned house yesterday and I still have more to do. But will go to Sams for my DD today. I haven't been out this week at all except for carpool so it is time!!

DGS's college is local so he is living at home one more year. A good help with Maggie and he does our yards and helps with other stuff. I sure would miss him if he went off to college.

It is a beautiful day today.

Hope you all enjoy the day.

Good morning everybody. Thought I better post now before we leave for the day.
Brother and wife are heading back to their place on Cayuga Lake but need to wait till the interstate opens up after the presidential visit to a few cities here in NY.

Have a good one everybody.

Hey y'all...Sharon Wertz's e-book, THAT'S LOW CARB? is free for Kindle users today....Yea!!! Don't know if you remember I've recommended this book before and it is absolutely great. She includes some recipes from LCF and gives the person credit which I think is absolutely necessary....sorry if I sound like a fool for this, but it really is a great book and I think all Lo carbers should have it. If you don't have a Kindle, this would be a great one to pick up on the app for pc, or androids...well worth it, friends.

Great avatar, Susan, but I seem to be the couch potato here as I just can't seem to get the motivation to move-it. Hoping the cooler weatherr will be my impetus to get started again.

Took poodle puppy to the groomers for his shave and a haircut...rap, rap. Not much else happening here for me as the coughing fits have kept me pretty down (plus the month of August is a real downer for me). I tried the bronchodilator this morn and it killed it quickly, so I guess the COPD is worsening....can't see the pulmonologist until September 5th, so doing what I can...if it gets any worse, I guess it's the ER for me....don't worry, tho', it's not that bad.

Sending hugs to all and a special for Lainey on finally ending the smoking habit...congratulations lady...one day at a time.

Hi Mary, good to see you up and about. I don't have kindle, but wouldn't get yet another diet book anyhow. Tossed all my so called diet books, except kept the old Weight Watchers cookbook, for sentimental reasons. Lordy, another book for us to ignore, after about 2 weeks. Do you still have fires and smoke near you, the San Joaquin valley has loads of bad air due to that big fire near Yosemite Park, the Rim fire, it's called.

I'm with you, Lainey, on wishing for an EARLY Fall, ha ha.

Waving at all the rest of you, off to do the babysitting stuff

Begete, how are you feeling today, did Gabe get home on time?

The temperatures have heated up here in Ky. 90s+ for the next few days.

Sorry you have become disinterested in the casino, Gladys. I guess there comes a time

My oldest DS will be here tomorrow. I am looking forward to his visit. Saturday we will go watch Leah play some softball.

My neighbor at the apartment has gone to live in Assisted Living. She seems to be content with her decision. She is probably in her early 80s. She is very alert and I glad that she more or less made the decision for herself. Her children have been very helpful.

Did someone here have a bout with vitamin D deficiency? And, have to take a crazy amount for a set period of time, and then a lesser amount for another period of time? That's what my dr. wants me to do and I'm leery.

Michele, please take the doc's advice to heart...most people have a Vit D deficiency and they're finding interesting things about it...science has really progressed on that front. Vit D is the first thing the body reaches for in so many things and if it's not there, it can bring about a magnitude of problems. With today's lifestyles, hardly anyone is exposing their skin to the sun in sufficient amount to generate the right amounts for the body....and research has shown if you you live above the line that runs through SoCal, Texas and northern Florida, your body is not receiving an adequate amount of sunshine.

I've never had a Vit D deficiency, but learned a lot about it when my husband's nephrologist had him taking over 30k IU's a day...and wanted him to take more. Apparently, those who have kidney failure cannot process it their bodies. I really looked into it trying to understand why the doc has having him take so much and it really did help him in the final months. My endocrinologist has me taking about 2k daily in order to fend off osteoporosis, as well. She's monitoring mine quite carefully.

Hope this helps to make up your mind....it really is a good thing.

Michele, I agree with Mary. I'm on 2000 units/day, partly because I'm not allowed in the sun. It helps calcium absorption to offset bone loss.
