TUESDAY's Roll Call, AUG. 20

This month is flying by, my mother used to say that all the time, and I'd wonder what she was talking about.............NOW I KNOW.

Let's all go with the flow, whatever that is for each one of us, it's the best we can do, friends.

Hi Doris and thanks for the start off. Was trying to get in here early enough to do it for you.

We are finally here and really love this RV resort. It's on the Oneida Indian Reservation and is spectacular.

Hi to everyone and good to hear from Verleen. To bad the I pad isn't working out for you.

Night everyone.

Good Morning everyone.

Day 3 of smoke free! I think I could go to the store this mornin and be OK. I am already breathing better and this quit is nothing so far like the 13year 8 month quit before as far a difficulty goes. This time I only smoked a matter of several months with a few quit attempts mixed in where before I smoked a lot for many, many, many years and that quit was the tuffest thin I ever did and put on over 50 lbs that I could not lose till the cancer surg. blasted off most of it 11 years later.
Mary Anne is coming or came back yesterday. I will peek thru the fence slates to see if her SUV is in the drive way. Didn't think she would be back till weds. but am glad she is home.
BBL- made my coffee too strong so need to dilute it a bit- does not go with my mornin nausea too well.

Good Morning All,

Thanks again Doris for our start. I agree with your comment about time flying by. Already at the 20 th of Aug. The summer has flown by. I am not ready yet to bring up the Winter coats. Hah!

Good Going Lainey! Count the benefits of quitting and enjoy breathing easier.

Waving to Everyone and hope to check back later...

Thanks everyone for the support about the cigs.

It really does mean so much to me and I swear!- I can feel the difference it makes.
Now if I could just push myself out to those #$%^^ weeds that the "fairies", yet again, did not come in the night and pull them up! Reacon someone has a blame curse on me!
Hoping all have a great day today. Think I'll invoke the 9's- measure approx. 9 ft of weeds at a time should "git her well on the way to begin a 1/4 mile of feet started". Ambisious I are! Shoot! I could have done 9 ft. if you add toether all the whine time I do about doing it!

Good morning, everyone. Slept in til 9:15 this morning.Thanx for the start, Doris. I know what you mean about time flying.

This is Gabe's last day at home and I am already depressed. I know many of us have kids that live far away. How do you all deal with their leaving after a visit?

Was good to hear from Verleen and Weezie.

Linda, what state is that resort in?

Gladys - you are lucky to have offspring that are techies.....

Susan - Hearst Castle is worth seeing. Just know you need reservations for tours.

Hi to Mary and Sharon and all who visit later.

Sorry to hear about that problem Gladys. Is the thing still under warrauntee?

Tech problems are a PITA. I have had lots of issues with my wireless router and my phone. You can spend a lot of time trying to correct the problem when it is out of your control. Something in the air?

Our warm weather has returned. Sunny today and close to 80.

Begete, I have never found any magic thing to make saying goodbye easier, we miss our son and dil in Calif., now, and they can't ever get off of work to come here, period. It's just life, at least you and John keep active with all the things you do there, friends, clubs, etc. so the moping doesn't last too long. Otherwise, Gabe would have to move there, or you move to where he is, and that ain't possible, with your allergies. We are so glad we moved here, to have the company of our son, dil and little grandson, to have some laughs with, that is a complete change from where we lived before. We also thought we'd never pay anyone to mow the lawns, but now, dh wouldn't have it any other way, lol.

Susan, yes, Hearst castle is very interesting, but, as Begete says, do make early reservations. Plus going in spring or fall is better, summer is a zoo. I would also recommend Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, and Monterey Bay area, Pacific Grove, by Carmel.

We have spent a lot of time today getting all the boxes with Christmas decorations into the house, now, my job is to stash it all away in various closets in some sort of way, so it will be easily retreavable by December.

Hang tough, Lainey consider the fact that your kitties are affected by the stink from the cigs, too, their little lungs can't take it either.

Gladys, that is a bummer about the new computer not being up to snuff, can you get your money back and get another one? Could you try to do that?
So Loretta, you have that phone that is from the internet too, I think that it is weird, but had no choice here. Seems like just another way to get a fee for the router that is extra, to me. Time Warner is all that was available when we moved here.
Off to read some emails before time to cook, or reheat....

Never ever smoked in my house or Jeep. PERIOD!

and outside I used old empty medicine bottles with water and lids to put out the cigs. and when 3 or 4 cigs. in one I would seal & toss the whole thing in the trash. I hate the smell of cigs and never smoked around my kids or pets. PERIOD!
Never minded that others did and do- every life is entitled to make their own decisions. To my way of thinking- just saying!
Got some weeds up and some garage clearing done... dragging myself- 0 motivation. Gonna git back out there for some more pulling or may hit the store but still feel maybe not yet... *(&^$ sooo easy to buy "just one pack, a very last one for sure", for sure"... NO!

It will be alright Lainey. Try to not think so hard about it and just let the do it take hold of you. It gets better. When you're outside pulling weeds take some real deep breaths and slowly blow out through your mouth several times. Think how good it feels to fill your lungs with clean air. We love you and are here for a hand holding.

Oh Sharon, a lovely post.

I will go back out when it cools a little and will do those breaths. I am amazed at the difference just 3 days makes- thought I was imagining but my sinuses and breaths are notice clearer. I am tense though and you post hit just the right note for me. Thank you so very much. Guess what- with the last few sentences in that post memorized I think I can safely go to the store now!!! I'll think of those sentences while checking out and should do OK. Off I go to market!!!
Funny, it is not hot feeling but the humid is just real yucky feeling.
bb soon.

ACTUALLY I MEMORIZED THE ENTIRE POST. Thanks again Sharon. e.

Gee Lainey, how was I to know you NEVER smoked in your house or so any of your cats could smell the smoke on you, even though the stink does linger. How would I know that the likes of you didn't smoke in your car?

Lainey...I left you out in my post this morning and didn't realize it til now. I thought I had told you how proud I was of you giving up smoking for three days and still counting. I remember how agonizing it was when I finally quit for good, in 1991.

Remember the hardest parts of quitting is the third day, the third week and the third month.....once you have made it thru those, you have a good chance of staying smoke free.

We went to see "the Butler" this aft. Loved it! Oprah and Forest Whittaker played their parts remarkably well. I loved the historical newsreels. We saw those too over in England on black and white BBC. Hah!

Got thru the check out just fine (they keep the cigs there) .

Anne that is so funny- I was thinking this morning I must e-mail you and I sure wish you would be coming back here soon. I do see you on face book but do not know how to figure that place out. I do "like" some of the stuff and even comment (did on Begetes "Red" Center Piece) but don't know it it went thru.
THANKS, Begete- I may be lucky as not having smoked for close to 14 years and only having smoked for several months with 3 or 4 stops for a week or so at a time may help to make this quit far more easy that the first one in Jan. 2000. Sharon and everyone being so positive has really helped me so much.
BACK to America's Got Talent but I may not last as I am soooo sleepy.
