WEDNESDAY'S Roll Call, Aug. 14
:high5: Shall we dance, friends? :D
Good news for Sharon!!
Hi Michele, have a good night.
Begete, what are you fixing special for your son's visit?
Funny you should ask, Doris. I just spent some time working on dinner for Saturday night. Doing grilled chicken breasts marinated in an Indian spiced yogurt, an Indonesian rice, fruit and veggie salad, roasted green beans and garlic. Will buy dessert at COSTCO. Today I made the rice and dressing. Saturday will add the veggies, fruit.
Tomorrow is a cleaning day, plus will make the marinade for the chicken. It has to marinate 2-3 days in the frige, so I will put the chicken in the marinade on Thursday.
Will buy already cleaned green beans at Trader Joes.
Running in to save a spot and say hi to everyone.
Good news for Sharon.
How is the unpacking going, Doris? Getting there ???
Babette, your dinner for your son sounds delightful. Can you share your chicken marinade recipe?:D
Avatar is the wedding of my nephew, Erik and Jen who live in Hayden Lake , Idaho.
Been on the run today and will be tomorrow too.PITA sometimes getting ready for a Motor Home trip.
Good Morning to all.
Beete- that dinner sounds delightful. I too wish the marinade reciept. Have a ton of accumalated chicken packaes in the freezer. I had planned to slow cook and pull off and discard all skin & bones and have makings for chic. salad with green grapes/walnuts and italian dishes and your yogert thingy so please brin forth!
I am so very sad- when I worked at the church I got to watch youth group members grow up and Friday one of them (25 yrs old) told his boss he did not feel well and was sent home- on a street I had been on twice that day he pulled over to the side of the road and died of a heart attack. The paramedics went crazy trying to save him but he was gone. No history of heart issues- he just died! I hope to attend his services which is something I just do not do. Funerals, hospital visits even weddings are just not my thing and I won't get myself started on "Showers" of any kind. I will go to birthday parties some times and love Christmas Parties. Please give everyone you love a deep, special hug today and that includes YOURSELF!
Hair wash today- weed pulling and a continuation of clothes sorting that if pile up would be taller than my garage. Waay overdue. I'm doing like with like; seasonal; too big (donate or redesign- turnin a long velvet skirt in to a cape for winter TV & reading sessons); tiny bit too small but cannot part with and all things like that. The busy little beaver I are!
How can I get that "young man" out of my head?
Good morning all...it's a cleaning day for me. Nadine's coming over to do the changing of the beds, vacuum, scrub the bathrooms and mop the floors. Thank goodness she's able to do it all. Right now, I'm having coughing fits that are pretty bad but not bringing up anything. Stopped taking the allergy meds thinking it may have tightened everything up. Guess it's time to see the pulmonologist again...been a couple of years.
Lainey, hugs back atcha..sorry to hear of the young man passing...I'm the same way about attending get-togethers...the most I'll do is the occasional luncheons with my old work crew, I don't do Christmas gatherings...not anti-social, just can't bring myself to 'em.
Great menu, Babette, the chicken and rice sound like great go-togethers.
Doris, not up to dancing right now, but will put in a few steps while doing the cleaning today.
Hugs to all who follow and wish you have a great day.
Yesterday was laundry day. One of the downsides of RVing.
Today we will do a little shopping and go out for steamed clams later.
N called and it's too hot for her friend to watch the kid, so we're not cleaning today...doing personal laundry now, then I think I'll run to the poker club for some hold'em...tired of sitting around the house.
Doug...do they do the BBQ oysters up there....I love to go to Mendicino for them. It's been too long since I've been up north and never on the coast in Oregon...always running up and down I-5.
Just popping in to say hello.
Lainey, that sure is a sad story about the 25 yr. old man passing away so suddenly, man oh man, what a shock for his family and friends. too.
Back to unpacking, laundry, and so forth. Need to cook today.
Begete, that sounds like a tasty chicken dish to me!
Mary, too bad you won't get the cleaning done today, but oh well, another day is just as good. Have a good time at the card table, if that is what it is, lol, I don't know if it's video poker or what, never played before.......take care.
Good luck on those hold-um hands Mary. I love watching Poker after Dark on the sports channel. There're some real hi rollers there. So much fun to watch.
Doris I made the greatest iced coffee this morning. It actually started last night when I put the coffee grounds in the cold water to sit over nite. I strained it this morning and had it over ice with a splash if cream. My goodness that was good!
Where're you going this time Linda?
Doug I'm so glad you are enjoying your vacation. Clams hum. I remember having the buttons in a cocktail with celery. My Mom use to make it when we brought home the clams from Pismo Beach. Those were the days.
Begete your dinner sounds divine. Gabe's going to love his Mom's cooking. :)
Susan, Michele and anyone I've missed. Have a lovely rest of your day.
