FRIDAY's Roll Call, Aug. 2

Hello friends, sorry I never made it in here today.

Son's doctor doesn't have the results of the pathologist yet, so we don't know anything more yet today. We are all anxious.

Thankful that daughter in law drove us into Dallas for dh's liver specialist appt. today, Lordy, the traffic and all the different freeways above and below, quite shocking to we old mountain people. We got lost for a bit, so dil had to call our son to figure out where we were on the map, and guide us. Did get there on time, paperwork took over an hour to finish. But the doctor was very nice, has a nice staff, and he made some changes to dh's plan, we see him in one month at his office closer to where we live now.

Linda, that horse carving is beautiful!

Waving hello at everyone, thank you for your prayers and good thoughts, we do need them now.

Need to get some sleep...........

To you Doris, you two have your hands full. So good that your DIL took you two to the doctors this time and great that the next appointment will be closer to where you live now.

Sleep well, girlfriend.

Not much planned for me tomorrow except laundry and bed linen changing.

Sleep well everyone.

Hi,

Sorry I didn't make it Thursday either. Wednesday I tried to catch up on my gardening as being in the hospital set us back. I was reaching towards the back of a raised bed to plant some new broccoli seedlings and fell and cracked a rib.

Linda, what did you doc say about your stent?

Doris, you must be going crazy waiting for DS's results.

Friday is lobster night at a friend's house. They do this every year in celebration of DH's birthday which is Saturday, but before that we are going to an afternoon christening of our neighbor's new deck.

Have a good one....

Just waiting for day light- just starting to lighten up now.

Asleep by 9: pm but up at midnight for a barf fest. Just the one episode so thankful for that. Kept it all down till all the calories and carbs were used- absorbed but thankful all was brief. Mary Anne was as miserable as I was but we did manage a pretty good walkies for "Missy" when we got home- she is skinny was it was easier for her in the heat which she loves- UGH, not me.
Got the body repair estimate for the Cherokee- 1,400.00 plus. No choice but to max out one of my two Platinum cards. Making triple payments to the lowest amount one and then will do the same to the big one. At this point just hoping to live long enough to be debt free when I go. 2013 was a killer $ year for me starting with the washing machine repair 279. something; Cherokee repair neigh on 1,000.00; A/C 750.00 and now the Jeep body work to repair hitting that Handi Cap pole 1,400. something. Looking forward to kissing 2013 good bye.
Got a sweet rain last night so will hit the weeds hard today and work in whacking the strip from the front fence to the curb.
A/C man is coming this afternoon for the maintance plan check I opted for and will check to see why the A/C is turning off and on repeatedly as a possible cause for the sky high power bill. Glad I opted for that plan cause the check up and looking for the cause of the problem will be free.
Doris, so glad your future appts. will be closer to home for you and G*d Bless your DIL for driving you two. Praying for a response to DS test very soon.
It is light so I'll start to move the old bones- BEGETE, so sorry about the cracked rib- have heard they are extremely painful.
bbl
I picked up replacement shorts at the Good Will yesterday and am proud to say they are mediums so everything with the crotch practically to my knees will be bundled up to donate.

Good Morning gang,
Up at 6:30 after a pretty good night sleep.
Was the first one up so got the cats fed and the horses out to pasture.Cleaned two stalls, will go back later for the other two.
Did not finish the grass cutting yesterday, not in the mood.
Doris, everyday you must be thankful you moved.
Begete, that yard will get a person every time.I had to give up mowing the pastures and stick to the yard around the house and now it looks like it will take me two days to do that.
Linda, everytime we go outside to do something we have to change at least our
shirts, make for lots of laundry.lol When I do the bird feeding all must come off when I'm finished, soaked to the skin. But for me it's still better than snow.lol

G'Morning All,

Another pretty day up here as we move right along into August.
It is DD's BD tomorrow. I have her BD card but no pressie yet? I usually get her a gift certificate for her Spa, she can use it for her face creams too. It is hard to choose anything when she has mostly everything.

Good to see your post Doris, whew, glad your DIL was able to find the right route. I too would be lost on those highways. Glad to hear you got the business done, now just the waiting game, may the good news come swifly .

Ouch! Babette on that cracked rib. Hope you have some good meds and some TLC for your self. Enjoy that deck christening and lobster.

Gladys, you sure get a work out cleaning out those stalls. I am going to watch DGD at her lesson tonight. DD is picking me up as its a bit of a drive. A really lovely stables so pretty and well kept. DGD told me that she would love to wear the red jacket one day. I guess that means the Olympics. Oh well I guess they all need a dream.

Lainey, Did you manage to toss any papers? Even 10 at a times, is 10 less in storage. Listen to me the reluctant one. WTG on those medium shorts, yes bag up those baggy one and get them out the door. How is your tummy today? Hopefully all settled now. Great going on choosing the right a/c plan.

Waving to All and hope to check back later...

Darn rib hurts like heck. I am suing leftover pain meds from a surgery 4 years ago.

It's raining - very lightly, but the first rain we have had since mid June!! Not sure what that will do to the deck party...

Thanks Susan, tummy was a little flippy but I am hungry now for lunch.

Ate 2 boiled eggs and my coffee for breakfast so oin to try that thin sl. Italian bread with peppercorn turkey/mayo/tons of luttuce for lunch.
Weeding is a slow go but pulling away I will do. It is so hot in the sun but my yards do not have shade till it is so late I too beat to bop!
Beete, soooo glad you have some pain meds- a lot of pain with a cracked rib I have always heard.
Everyone is about finished their mowing and whacking- we are under each other arm pits here and the noise and light polution is so annoying but some of the neihbors are fine jewels in my crown so I endure.
Susan, I have actually begun the big toss party with a huge shopping bag already have a few things in it for now... how long do I keep power, utilities, cell and the like? They are all on auto pay anyway and I now trust it enough to go paperless and will when I can get around to it!

Hey y'all....slept in this morning and when I moved the fur kids were right there to make sure I got up and at'tem...hard to stretch when you have three tongues licking and six paws pawing at ya.

Doris, are they still working on the freeways in Dallas? It seemed like every time I went through there was major roadwork going on and traffic was absolutely terrible. Hugs as you're waiting to hear from the doc..I know that wait is terrible but I'm still hoping you get good news.

Babette, hugs for you too for the cracked rib...I know how painful that is...but it's a gentle hug so I don't jostle the rib.

Lainey, congrats on the shorts, quite an achievement, but watch the heat...

Went to see RED2 yesterday and it's every bit as good as the first...of course, anything with Helen Mirrin is worth it.

Waving at all...hope you have a great day.

Finally get a chance to "check in".....time seems to go faster here........

Begete, sore ribs hurt like heck, do you need a wrap of some kind? Hope your invitation to the deck christening still works out though.

Gladys, your tale of having to toss and wash everything after every chore outside rings true to me now, more than ever. dh did yard chores the other day, and it was the same thing, even his shorts had to be taken off and thrown into the wash. He was pruning the Crepe Myrtles on the bottom.

The kids picked us up for a lunch trip towards Dallas, a Cajun seafood place called Papadeuex, and wow, what good tasting food. I had Talapia covered in crushed almonds, and tasty spices, and thin green beans and red potatoes.
Since I'm allergic to shellfish, the manager came over to discuss how they would prepare the fish, so it would not be near any shellfish, I was so surprised! dh had frog legs, and some andoille sausage and shrimp, had to take home a lot of it. That traffic going into Dallas is not for the faint of heart, unbelievable, at least to us.

On the way home, son's doctor called, and he is scheduled the CT scan on Monday morning, and then son may go to work. He is sore and walks slowly, but at least he can walk around. They will decide what to do next after that gets done.

Linda, the laundry seems to never really be done, I planned on more this morning, and than the Terminex man came, so that took a long time of discussing.

Mary, is the big heat wave over for awhile? At least you have little furry "people" to get you up and out of bed!!

Lainey, I too worry about you and your heavy yard work that never ends, danged weeds just have their way with everyone! Hope the A/C guy can check your unit out and see that it's doing it's thing without costing you more.

Susan, so it's your daughter's birthday tomorrow, Happy Birthday to her! Will you cook something or go out? Your granddaughter's horse place sounds so nice and clean, do the kids have to do some of the "mucking out" themselves? Good luck getting the paperwork down, we burned and tossed so much, and still dh is tossing more that was packed and came along with us, always worried that we would "need" some of it.

Tomorrow, son's best friend from high school and his wife, are driving up from Corpus Christi to visit son, stay overnight, and then driving back down there. We knew his friend when the boys were in school together, so they are all coming to our house tomorrow late afternoon and "christening" the new barbeque we bought. They are bringing the food though. We have more room for people to move about here.

Off to wash some dishes that require hand washing.

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend, too.
Sending prayers and comfort to Louise and her Bob, also.
