THURSDAY, Roll Call, July 25
Hello friends, let's be glad to be past the middle of July and finish out the rest of Summer, and be done with it, lol. My thoughts are, Summer has made it's point, now go away!! It was a lot more fun when we were young!

LoveMontana 07-24-2013 09:37 PM

Boy you have that right, Doris. Summer be gone.:stars:

Can't wait to hear all about your ISP and other stuff about your new home.

Not much going on tonight, except thoughts of sleep soon. Night all.

Begete 07-24-2013 11:25 PM

Thanx for the start, Doris and hi to Linda.

Still feeling the effects of spraying myself with Neem. Nauseous, headache and my throat felt sore, but I don't have any black spots, unlike my roses:dunno:

Thursday will be errand day as Friday a couple from Philly are visiting.

Good morning,
Busier than a cat covering up around here. Yep, I got a little posion ivy on my inside lower forarm next to the wrist and top of thumb... put on anti itch and cut the toe out of one of Dad's "skinny" socks in hopes of steming the spread. PLUS- I may be getting a summer cold- drip, drip, drip and sneezes.
Susan, I thought that only happened in cartoons. Bless your heart and wishing for a speady fade out... next time please- watch what I' M doing!
B B late today or tonight,

SuSUN 07-25-2013 06:52 AM

Hi All,

Thanks Doris for our kick off. Love the pup in the stroller. I need one of those for my old guy. Ha! You are right on with the summer being more fun when younger but so was everything else.;)

Gladys,:jumpjoy: Yes YOU are the Winner to our little contest. George it is!

Linda, Are you enjoying the cooler weather. It has been just gorgeous the last few days, the way summer should be huh?

Thanks Lainey for the well wishes on the eye accident. It is healing quickly the dark purple has gone already and now I have pink n red shades.:D

DS has Shingles and another batch of blisters erupted over night along the nerve path across the bottom of his right rib. He is coping really well, working just as normal through it.
Just Tylenol for the pain and lidocaine applied topically. He flies to France for a month leaving on Saturday so I hope the worst of it happens while still here.

Waving to All  and hope to check back later...

Verleen 07-25-2013 08:43 AM

Good morning. Rich and Cathy are putting together a picnic and taking me up to the park. So I have to go load up on meds soon to be able to make the trip. We are having hot dogs, potato salad, corn on the cob, something Cathy is making and watermelon. We are taking the two dogs and Rudy the parrot. It may be Rudy's last picnic. She's an old bird.

Doris, :hyst:in a few months we'll be wishing winter would go away. Esp me, I suffer so much from the cold.

Babette, so sorry about your Neem experience.

Lainey, hopefully you can clear up that little bit of poison ivy.

:hiya: Hi Linda.

Susan, I had shingles once. People can have a severe case to a mild case. Mine was severe and lasted 6 mos. I couldn't wear clothes. My immune system wasn't working at all. I was on two cocktails - one an antiviral and one antibacterial. I hope your son has a mild case. It sounds like it so far. Of course, I had cat scans to rule out other causes and they found two large tumors. My gall bladder went on the fritz. And I had other complications. And they couldn't do surgeries until I was free of the shingles.

:hiya:to all.

Mssarge 07-25-2013 09:22 AM

Hey y'all, just running through the door waving at all...gotta run to Loma Linda with the sample 'fore the parking lot fills up...type ya later.

birdlady 07-25-2013 09:45 AM

Good Morning,
84* now so not to bad.
Just the normal day to day stuff around here, very exciting.lol
Had shingles three time each less than the other, was told you can only have it once...bull.
Susan, nickname GAL,wonder if the thought about that.

Mssarge 07-25-2013 11:17 AM

:mad::mad::mad:I am so freaking twisted right now I could just scream and I've had about an hour to cool down...I was too late and the parking lot dance had already started...at 9 am,,,grrr! Then when I get to the lab, she tells me they could not do the test as I had only 17 hours collected and they need the full 24 hours. I wanted to scream at her but couldn't because it wasn't her fault...it was the furschlugener tech that gave me only one container and didn't fully explain it.:annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

So, now I have to do it again and the earliest I can do so is Sunday because, of course, no one works on Saturday...that means a full week off the med I had to stop because it interferes with the results of the test the doc wants to run...well, at least it will out of my system. And now I have two containers to fill...wll do my best to do so.

I was going to run to the casino today but now I'm not sure it is a good idea...feeling as I do. But we'll see what happens.

Mssarge 07-25-2013 11:53 AM

Oh! I shoulda mentioned...the trip through the canyon wasn't a total waste. I stopped at the orchard and picked up a couple bags of citrus...one of oranges and one of grapefruits and they had some lovely cherry tomatoes. Took some of the sting out of the morning, anyway.

Cooling down now, cool enough to fix some breakfast. Then I'll decide what I'll do today. Have a great one folks.

mykneesareback 07-25-2013 12:35 PM

Oh dang it, Mary, what a "_isser" that is, happened to my dh twice, too. What is it with the people who give out these test items, paperwork along with it, they do it day in and day out, one would hope they would get better training or something. Just like when they "lose" blood test results, and you have to go back, fasting and everything. Seems like a lot of ding dongs get certain jobs. It ain't just grocery stores, after all, lol.......

Verleen, wishing you to enjoy that picnic today, in spite of all the med taking and precautions you need to take before hand. Hope the bird can enjoy it, also.

Gladys, I remember when you kept getting shingles again, and had that nasty med that made you so sick, doggone it!

Susan, sure hope your son get's relief from what he is taking for the shingles now, so he is well before heading on a plane, can't imagine sitting on a plane with that, either.

Lainey, how is your neighbor, Anita, doing lately? Does she still have so many people living at her house?

There are so many unusual birds here, but no time to look and ponder them, let alone get a book so I can identify them. Haven't even hung up the hummingbird feeders yet.

Linda, I've been wondering how you and your dh are doing, need to find my passwords and stuff at some point.

Julie, how is the I-pad working so far?

Begete, how nice to have company from Philly, hope you are better tomorrow to have a good time with them, have they visited you before this?

I'm supposed to check on some of our business stuff on here, but feel better about using the "big" computer, and this lap top doesn't give me confidence that it's doing the job right, lol. Just like I think a cell phone isn't really a "real" phone. My son should be able to figure it all out tonight, with luck and a wish on a star.

Hope you all are gettin' er done today. dh is napping, I finished washing dishes and laundry, need a shower and off we go to watch Silas at the bounce place for a spell. Southern Ladies, what in Hades do you do with your Hair?? Mine looks as though I was struck by lightning, and it's been that way since Amarillo!! Just sticks up and out and sideways, and I don't want to cut it really short short, but might have to........plus it's blonde, grey and white, yes, looks weird. I just wash it now, and let er rip, that's it. :hyst:

SuSUN 07-25-2013 05:52 PM

Hi All,

Oh Yikes Mary, that is a bummer for sure. :hugs: People just don't communicate well and it causes unnecessary stress and time. Hope you are feeling better to go to the Casino tonight.

Yes, Gladys, I thought that too. GAL :D if they had given him a fourth name like Arthur or Albert...it would have been GALA Ha!
Thanks for sharing that you had Shingles 3 times. I hope DS just has a mild bout of it.

Verleen, What a hectic time having Shingles for 6 months. :hugs::heart:
I had my shot a couple of years back and hoping I am protected.

I sent DS back to the MD today for some anti virals and a nerve block as things are heating up for him and his flight is Saturday. The doc should have given him the anti virals on Monday when he first went in. They work much better if given within 72 hours of the onset. Oh well it should lessen the severity at least. He has the meds into him now so we will see how he is by weekend.

He flies overnight to Paris and then on to Nice for 3-4 days. It is another gruelling trip of travelling across Europe meeting clients and such. The last trip was a month travelling across the States. I think that one wore him out.:dunno: Vegas for a week, then Miami, on to the Keys, over to LA, Palm Springs and a 5 hour drive up through Yosemite then San Fran and flight home. Lots of travelling and it generates lots of paperwork.

I have been busy today sorting boxes of papers and I am finally winning more going out the door into the recycle. Yeah!:jumpjoy:
It was a quiet slow paced job indoors, as I hide my black eye.

Sleep well All and hope to bb tomorrow...

SuSUN 07-25-2013 05:56 PM

Just changed my Avi to show you all my black eye. Ha! :D;)

modon69478 07-25-2013 06:56 PM

Susan, I love your sense of humor - I'm glad you're starting to feel better.

Norfolk Mermaid 07-25-2013 07:23 PM

Susan, that is too funny. I had steeled myself to see your "boo boo" and led ol when I saw that Panda.
Sweet dreams to all and to me too!
Good night,

mykneesareback 07-25-2013 07:45 PM

Yep, Susan, it fooled me, too.........

Good Night, everyone.
