Thursday, Roll Call, July 11
Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho, off to work I go... :D
Take care of yourselves - stay cool! Hope the furniture arrives, Doris.
Good mornin and thanks Michele.
Storms till Sunday around here and WELLCOME!
Going "Junking" (thrift stores) with new BFF this morning. It is truly wonderful to have so much in common with a friend like Mary Anne. She is care giving her father who is very stern so I sure feel for her situation havein done that with my parents. "Missy" the little poodle is a major bonus- so adorable.
High hopes for Doris and G for all their situations.
Have a beautiful day everyone and remember you decide what the day is like.
Thanks for the start off, Michelle.
Just stopping in to mark my spot and hope for the best for Doris and G. If that truck comes, they are going to be really busy this weekend.
Lainey, how wonderful that you have a new friend to share things with. You will be able to give her tips on being a care giver to her Dad.
Hey y'all...cool this morning (72 degrees) before it starts climbing and, of course, humidity so it'll be a bit muggy....I hear that Chantal (the storm which was building in the Caribbean) has dissipated and now won't be heading to the east coast. Whew, missed that one.
Lainey, I love junking...enjoy your day.
Doris, hoping the furniture arrives and you get it placed quickly...will you have them unpack? or do it yourself? Check everything very carefully for damage...and take pictures of any. What's your first thoughts of the flatlands?
Have a great day folks...
I've been away from the boards for about a year and in that time have gotten down to my goal of 160. I'm feeling really good, off all my diabetic meds and, at 57...I feel mah-velous!
Not sure what this board is about yet, but thought I'd join.
Welcome Aomiel. Nice to have you with us. Join in and feel right at home. By your states you you've come a long way. That is just wonderful. I started at 350 on my weight loss journey. Still not were I want to be so doing the weight loss game. We have other threads here to keep track of meals and exercise if you like to keep track of yourself.
Good morning everyone. lWe had a busy day doing some taring down roofing on our patio. Now today we are heading for Home lDepot to buy some lattice to make a filtered light type of shade for it. The birds we feed are liking this see through top and were punching on the boards instead of the wires this morning.
Doris I too hope you get your delivery soon. How's those Doc. appts coming?
Lainey so glad to see you have a neighbor friend to do things with.
Julie so glad your hurricane alert was just that an alert and the hurricane is no more a threat.
Scale is being my friend this morning weigh-in tells me I'm doing the right things. Woo Hoo! Down 9# since doc appt.
Hope to see everyone later today. Have a good one.
Welcome Aomiel, what an accomplishment! and in such a short time.
Can you please tell us what you have done, if anything, about loose skin? I am down only 16 pounds, but my underarm flab is really awful.
Thanx for the start off Michelle. I am also anxious for Doris awaiting her truck's arrival.
Welcome back Aomiel. Good work:clap:
LOL Babette, it's called Old Age and not much can be done, except plastic surgery for the lose skin.
UGH Sharon, that's not an easy job.
back again...stayed cool, cloudy and we even had some showers today...leftover from that tropical storm that threatened Mexico...kinda nice for a change
Welcome back Aomiel...congrats on losing the pounds...you are great!!!!
Yep! My skin's sagging, too. Although not as badly as I feared....I think taking this long to lose is working in that favor.
Hope it was a good day for all.
Doris...you asked how Gabe was....yesterday would have been her 33 birthday. He was extremely depressed, but talked for a long time.
I've noticed that my skin is gradually tightening, but realistically I know I'll always have excess because I was so overweight. However, I'm working with weights for my arms. I figure even if I have excess skin, filling some of it out with muscle will help some.
Welcome, Aomiel. The sagging stuff is easier to hide with clothing. Lots more choices now.
Begete, maybe passing this Birthday milestone and being able to talk to you at least, and not hold it in, will help him, also. It is wonderful that he has parents to talk with, who will listen to him, no matter when. Some people don't have that in their family.
Lainey, I'm also happy you have a "gal pal" to spend time with, keep each other company.
Julie, glad the storm has moved away.
Mary, are you prepared for the weekend's heat wave, or is it due after that?
Sharon, we put that lattice stuff on our front deck's roof, it added just the right amount of shade, and it's lasted many years.
Linda, I haven't kept up, are you still having rain or is it just muggy and uncomfortable?
Michele, have you visited that part of Austin with the food trucks yet?
We had the locksmith come change the locks at the house today, and while waiting, phone rang and the moving truck driver called, they intend to show up early tomorrow morning, around 7 am, or a bit later. I'm hoping most of the neighbors will have left for work, so the street won't be hard for the truck to park at, truck is so very big and long. Saturday, the new refrigerator is going to be delivered. phone, internet and Dish network won't be coming in until next week sometime. Doctor won't call until Tuesday. But things are moving along. Good thing we can stay at our son's and be comfortable and have grandson to be around. They have helped us so much already, I didn't know you had to buy phones and buy a modem before you even called for internet and phone installation. So we did that today.
Sorry I wrote so much, brain is tuckered but fingers are anxious I guess. One day, we can finally sleep the night through.
Wishing everyone WELL, the heat is something else here, I must say, and we have to get used to it. You step outside at 8 am, and it's 86 already, now, that is a surprise to us.
