Thanks for the start off, Michelle. I was going to do it last night, but forgot because we had some bad storms move through.
They didn't really bring any relief from the Hazy , hot and humid mess we have. Humidity is still 96%

BBL and hope to hear more from our Doris.

Hey y'all...hot and humid here, too....we may be setting record temps in some parts of the southland, but at least we're not setting high temps over many days record; we are getting some relief in between the high days. Going back for poker today, so the pups will be alone for a few hours.

Doris, that's really a drag, hope new buyers leap at the chance to get your old nest.

Lainey, with all that yard work you're doing, the pounds must be dropping off...just don't forget to eat...you really need the energy with all that heat and humidity...and don't forget to drink your water, too.

Have a great day and enjoy your day whatever comes your way.

Hi everyone, thanks Michelle.

Took my thyroid this morning and didn't want to wait the hour for my diabetes meds so off I went to the bank to deposit Mom's ins. ck. and get some much needed cash. Had a "accident" in there and focused on getting home and cleaned up but my lack of Janumet kicked in and the pre fog of that lack set in and I got lost on the way home- I was on the right road but did not recognize it so I really tried to focus and just GET HOME! Made it and am a little better but I am filling a pill box with Imodium to be with me at all times. Stress is my # 1 problem and as we all know there is no escaping that.
bbl I just ate some egg beaters and bread with a little sprinkle of EX Sharp chedder so I'll finally take my Janumet.

Hi all. Not much new here.
More doctor visits, Jo gets her 1 month checkup on her knee replacement tomorrow, we had our annual general doctor visit today.

Temps have been in the 110-120 range daily. You know the Monsoon season has started when the humidity starts to kick in. Not East coast humidity but any humidity out here with these temps is brutal.

We plan on leaving for the Oregon Coast, probably Coo's Bay area, Monday or Tuesday at the latest. I'm ready for some real seafood.

Doug

Good for you guys, Doug! That is a lovely area, we considered moving there at one time, long ago, before dh's health issues took lead. Hoping Jo's knee gets the "thumbs up" from her doctor.

I'm having trouble getting dh's doctor appt. here, seems the Calif. doctor did not send dh's info in as she had said she would, so had to call her office and am waiting to see what happened. We may have to find another doctor and have to drive into Dallas after all, if we want to get dh's 6 week appts. going. Bummer, always seems to be a wrench in the works.

Lainey, hope you are better, do you tell your diabetes doctor all of these symptoms when you see him/her, they could change your medications so it doesn't happen to you anymore. Scary stuff!

Still haven't heard from the moving company, the driver is supposed to call, but one would hope it would be a day ahead or something more worthwhile than flailing around.

Take it easy, gang!

Gonna use your shoulders to cry on....

I had a really AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! ! day today so will cry on your shoulders. First a little explanation:

The casino at which I play poker usually runs a promotion on Tuesdays...the casino doubles your funny money and the poker room used to throw $50 into the pot on as many as four tables every hour during the afternoon. So I got used to going out there, play some cards, and put my funny money and usually a few or my bucks into the slots. I usually make a little bit of money on both and come home after a day at the casino....my DH got me in the habit.

Well, this month the poker room is not doing the "splash the pot" but have a different kind of promotion...if you get two pocket pairs of selected cards you'll get $50...of course, they specify the pocket pairs...well, today's pot was $700 as if no one gets in one hour, then it increases every hour...and at $700 it had been a while since it had been hit. I don't know if you realize how difficult it is to get a designated set of pocket pairs, but to get two different sets is very high odds....so now the crying time.

During this hour, the pocket pairs were queens and eights...and of course, I got pocket queens which put me on the board as a possible win. I was sitting in seat three at the table and, from there, I have a hard time seeing the board on Texas Hold'em....Seat six opened up and I moved so I could see the board....another player moved into the seat I vacated and, wouldn't you know it, the dealer immediately dealt her pocket queens and a few minutes later the pocket eights...there went the pot and I could suffer with it. I hate moving once I've sat at a table.

Well, the story doesn't end there, folks...two hands later, the dealer dealt me pocket eights...just rubbing salt in the wound...of course, that broke my concentration and I left the table a short time later....I did win $70 so it wasn't a total loss...but it sure wasn't $700.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH! !!!!!!!!!!!!
