We had a horrendous rain storm here last night with very strong winds. Branches down all over. I've been out picking up some and leaving them by the road for pick-up. BBL

We got rain last night!

Feels a little better out side as the humidity is waaaay lower 50's isn't so awful.
Worked so hard yesterday from mornin to night but will pulls weeds today as the ground is rain soft and weed pulling is much easier that prune and stuff leaf bags. I used to plastic rocery bags over my hands and arms to avoid bites a posion ivey- so far so good! Missed one little pile so will get that up into my first leaf bag and go from there. Cannot find my darn clothpins and want to hang my summery blankets from the washer on the line but will have to use the dryer I uess. Sure miss Martha S. at K- Mart which avoids a trip to the mall.
Need my diabetes meds which helps me feel better in the mornings. Slept so well last night with the cooler house from the rain.
Thanks so much to the ladies that start off the mornings the night before. Love you?
I have been thinking of calling Verleen or at least e-mail her this week end. Thank you for the up tic on her. Anne as well.
I have a new BFF from the side of my house.... we have ever so much in common. Will tell about her later "Mary Anne".
bb on breaks.

I need to pull weeds today, too, as this morning's rain may be the last of it til fall.

Have a good one.

Hi all

Been busy the last couple days. We got all the carpets and grout professionally cleaned. Took 2 days.

Going to get very hot here this weekend. We are directly under the center of that high. Supposed to get into the 120's this weekend.

Whew! Feeling for ya, Doug. I remember those temps well...from Fort Irwin and Vegas...but desert people love it, I guess. I have one friend here who wears a sweater when the temps drop into the 80's...stay cool. Our humidity is climbing so it's starting to affect the "feels Like" temps.

Our humidity finally broke, it was much fresher out doors this morning.

My old Pup had 19 teeth out yesterday so a long day for both of us.
I took him in for 7:30am he was in surgery from 11:30 to 3:30. I was calling the office and bugging them on his status, like the mother hen that I am.
I was able to pick him up at 7pm last night. He was quite spacey and was not himself, but this morning he is more like himself.
I hand fed him poached salmon last night which he was very hungry for, so that went well. This morning he had poached chicken with hidden meds in there. There is method in my madness.
I am much calmer today. He is on the mend with a toothless smile. Glad I did it now.

I am sending some Arctic breezes from Canada to give you a break from that oppressive humidity. Hope they reach you soon.

I had better fly, getting on my broomstick as Linda puts it.

Women are Angels and when their wings are broken they fly on a broomstick.
SuSun, counting the hours for that coolness to get here.

Doris, Do you start the traveling tomorrow? Or just the packing part? Try as best as you can to stay calm.... I know, it's easy for me to say, but try ---

Oh Doris, wishing you the best with the packing crew and rest of the move. Hopefully the house will sell quickly.

Lainey, sure hope you are careful and don't get poison ivy. Yikes!
Can't wait to hear about your new friend.

Gosh Julie, so sorry about those branches all over. Hope you don't lift any heavy ones.

Oh Gladys, so sorry that it is so darned hot there. Stay in and stay cool.

Susan, sure hope this blasted heat wave breaks before that one in the West heads this way.

Oh good lord, Doug. That is really HOT!!!

Brother called from Missoula, Montana and even they are suffering from it.

Hi to Mary, Michelle, and anyone I may have missed.

Oh dang, Doug, that sounds like "heck" to me (darned politically correct site)! Down in the valley, they predict 114 or so, up here it will hit 104 or the like.

The people who wanted the house had some concerns and cold feet, but they warmed back up, so will see what happens now. The closing was pushed back to Aug. 9 now.

Plans changed, the packers will come tomorrow around 9 am, and again on Monday, to finish up, leaving us the tv and beds for the weekend anyway, lol.
The moving truck for Texas was delayed somewhere along the way, so it will come on Wednesday, loading it up and it will head directly to Texas, so they say...........so we might be able to leave on the 4th. but clean up first, wash floors and so on. We plan to stay at my brother's and see my Mother one more time.

Been packing boxes, hurt my back already, but so has dh. Was a lot easier to move 31 years ago, lol, when we were young and foolish.

Susan, please do send your coolness down to the lower 48! Hope you little dear doggie can sleep well and recover nicely.

I'm just waving at the rest of you nice people, I'm too tired to think. Still packing our suitcases for the clothes that we will wear now and throughout the trip to Texas, lots of tank tops, mostly.

Hang in there, you gardeners, with all of that weeding, lordy! dh hasn't even thought about mowing one more time, don't know if he will be able to, with this heat wave, his doctor told him to stay inside, with that skin cancer stuff getting worse lately.

Good Night!

Having a problem....

Worked so hard today that my feet and lower legs were aching me so bad I took two Allieve and in less than 45 mins. I threw up 4 times- stomach pains and awful nausea. Took two alka seltzer (makes me feel better if I am sick or not) and all seems to have eased.
Called this morning and by this afternoon I had a spiffy new Brown Garbage Bin from the City Of Chesapeake. It is real big and they have a smaller one but I worried that for the big garbages it would be too small so I stayed with the big one... the wheels were about to fall off and was hard to roll plus the pick up last week left a huge gash on one corner from close to the wheel to almost the top. Think it was the original one and neighbor "Joe" said his had been replaced 3 times.
OH G*D, now I am throwing up bitter bile because my stomach is empty and I am terrified to eat anything even though I am very hungry. I even skipped my night pills. In the 90s again tomorrow so I might just come in for the heat of the day 2: to 5: or 6: pm
Doris, best of luck and SuSun I am glad you are staying real close to that Pup. G*d Bless Him.
Going to try a couple of puzzels from the newspapers then try to sleep. Whoo, now my tummy is growling from hunger but I do not dare eat anything. Now the damn neighbor hound Jake is howling
