Linda, does the town have a name?

Really sore after gardening all day.

Tomorrow, have farmers market, then memorial service for a friend who died two months ago, and then a benefit dinner and auction for the animal shelter.

Busy day. See you all Sunday

Out of town this week end to attend my SIL funeral. Betty was in her 90s and had a good life. I will enjoy seeing my DH John's relatives that I have not seen for several years.

I am staying with my DS and DB until Sunday when I go to visit my oldest son in Indiana.
WAY TOO MUCH TRAFFIC HERE. I think my age is showing because it is difficult to travel around here in the city.
I will go back home to Kentucky on Monday. Tons of road construction to travel through.

Hope it is okay to join you guys. I need all the accountability that I can get. Too easy to say the scale isn't important (married 34 years as of today)

But then I bend over to tie my shoes, and it seems more important to be able to breathe....

Hey y'all and welcome iakaren...we like but they don't seem to stick around too long. Hope you will get to know us and pull up a chair and stick around. Hoping all our friends in the mid-west and great plains are safe from all those storms that have been moving through your area. We're looking at 100+ temps today before it drops back to normal...fires still burning but they seem to be getting them under control. Didn't mention the fire we had on the hill behind our house last week as our great firefighters got it under control before it burned too much...gonna be a hard summer...between the storms, fires and floods, maybe we should start saying our prayers. I understand they're predicting a bad year for the hurricanes, too. Stay safe all.

gotta 'fess up...I was a'hopin' and a'wishin' for a two pound loss this month as Monday is my anniversary on following JUDDD and that would'a put me at 175 or a 45 pound weight loss for the year...not to be. I gained the three pounds I lost in April plus one, aaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhh! so I can't even claim 40 pounds, but 39. Oh well, incentive to get back in the groove and "pick myself up and start all over again. Clearing the house of all temptations this weekend so I can kickstart it again on Monday.

Stay cool and dry, folks, and will type y'all later.

Hi Everyone,

It seems everybody's up and going! I just got back from the first round of errands for today (Bank, Sporting Goods store, grocery store, dry cleaners). Now it's time for a bite to eat and then go to the gym and get some housework done.

Take care and try to enjoy your day!

Karen, is that you on that beauty of a horse?

Got errands done and a little cash back which will vanish into thin air in no time at all.
Just took something for a head ache- seems to have them too often but the heat does that to me I am thinking. The odd thing is they seem to hit me the minute I step into any store or I will wake up with one. Stores might be the A/C as I do not use it in my Cherokee or home- just never have- do not heat the Jeep in winter either. Guess my formative years stayed with me- we did not have elect or plumbing and the water was a hand pump in the front yard. That might explain my dislike of camping or never found anyone I liked enouh to do that with.
Need to get out there and finally plant my cukes and that is the last of the plantin.
Had a big BBQ pork sandwich and could not finish it so that will be supper as well.... I remember downin two of them nooo problem so I am proud of my eating like a human since coming on this board- 2002 I think. Maybe longer because I left for quite the while and do not know if the time before I left is counted.
Ramblin Rose here. Guess it is easy to see I live alone. I bore the cats to death sometimes.
Yes, the nations weather is etting very scarey. I am somewhat in the hurricane paths and you can tell as people do not have big trees in their neihborhoods anymore. If the wind does not et them they get sawed down. Companys that do that are kept pretty busy along the coast- I am pretty close to Va. Beach.
Welp, I'll bbl.

Good June 1st All,

WE are getting into summer up here. All the rituals are beginning, stores selling BBQ's, plants, patio sets and such. Same old every year huh? I guess I am getting cynical in my old age.

I am low on energy today as I was out all evening last night.
'The Girls Night Out' was a huge success. 681 women and 30 firemen. It was a good fundraiser for the Hospice.
It was held at a pretty banquet hall and a lovely dinner. Our MC and comedian was a lot of Fun. The music was good, old music my fav. We danced a little bit. The bidding was fun on all the auction stuff, large pieces of furniture, a grandfather clock, art work, vacations. Some items went for between 5K to 10K. Then they did the silent auction so a thoroughly full evening.
The firemen stayed for the whole evening escorting us to our tables and then selling raffle tickets for a private BBQ with 10 of them and you get to keep the BBQ, steaks and beer was included. Ha!

I got home around midnight, as I drove one of the ladies there and back. She had cataract surgery last year and finds it hard to drive at night. I got to bed around 2 am, takes me a while to wind down even with meds.
Slow going today..

Jo was released from the hospital a little before noon.

She's doing much better than I thought she would. Already all over the house with the walker, thankfully we have no stairs.

Oh Doug, that's great news, now she can rest in some quiet, hospital's are usually so noisy!! Thankfully, you know how to cook which is a great help.

Susan, what a fun night you had, sounds like a real "ball". I can understand you feeling tuckered out now, though.

We are in the process of planning for the move, debating, bickering, etc. And on it goes........

I need to finish washing ye old dishes. It's warm here today, fans are on, it may hit 82.

LOL, I like that. Michelle.

So Susan, did you get to keep those firemen?

Babette, that little town where the Buffalo,Elk, Grizzly bears and other critters roam is Gardiner, Montana. Gardiner, Montana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It's where we usually stay when we go to Montana, Wyoming and Colorado.

Hey Doug, good for Jo. Speedy healing to her.

Lainey, maybe those headaches are partially caused by allergies. It's another bad season.

Loretta. Sad to have to attend a funeral. Enjoy the catch up time with family, but have a safe trip back home.

Doris, sure do hope the new house has a dishwasher so you aren't a slave to that kitchen sink.

Mary, sad that we just can't do a darned thing about Mother Nature's fires and storms. All we can do is hope for the best.

Welcome iakaren. As Mary said, we do like newbees and hope you stay around with us old folks.

Both of my granddaughters had their senior prom last night. Carlie ...

That is Daughter on the horse. We raised him. I have 9 total, and 8 are out one mare I had. I used to be that size.........................many many moons ago.

I tend to only join couple threads, and then I stick with them. So hope you guys get used to me. We have horses, cattle, farm and I am accountant.

All work and no time to play sums me up. No time to slow down, but getting old enough I can't keep up the pace I used to.
