Good morning all...I should be down in L.A. this morning for the walk against cancer, but just haven't been able to get up and out that early for several years. Each year I keep telling myself I'll go, but then oh-dark-thirty comes along and the bed won't let me outta it. I was part of starting our group to go in 1998...so my unit has been doing it for 16 years and there are two who have gone every year.,,my hat is off to them. I look at my four finishing medals and wish them all the best.

hugs to all and hoping you all have a great day.

Howdy, "gang of three", lol.

Just finished most of the exercise bike routine, that thyroid med makes me not hungry in the AM, but later on, I feel even hungrier.

Off to get some kitchen chores done, dh wants a bit of potato salad for part of dinner, so need to get busy with that. I don't care for potato salad.

Have a decent day!

Thanks Linda for the start. Loved the cheery colorful birds.

Chilly here once more. Suppose to reach the lower 30s one night in the upcoming week.

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers here.

Lainey take care and feel better soon. Where does it hurt?

Thank you for the start up Linda. What gorgeous colors those birds have!

Begete is your landscaping project going on at your home? I would like to do some landscaping here. I'm such a procrastinator.

Dh just finished washing out car. It was just full of yellow pollen. The bees would have loved to collect all that good stuff. Now our Camry looks like new again.

Our hummingbirds and orioles are really hitting the feeders hard. There must be nesting going on close by. We have a bluejay nesting in our apple tree. We go right by it to get to the trailer. She is still putting up with our visits out there.

I used my slow cooker to hard boil some eggs yesterday. It took 3 1/2 hours on low but sure was worth it. No shell sticking to the egg. I put in a splash of vinegar when I poured the water over the eggs. These eggs where straight from the source. As fresh as they come, so was hoping they were going to peel nice. They did.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry Lainey's not feeling well. Hope as the day goes on, she begins to feel better.

Another busy Saturday for me - physical therapy for my dumb arm, bank, vet - suture removal, post office, grocery store, and then dinner/movie with some friends this evening.

I should sleep well after all that!

Waving to Susan, Anne, Doris, Loretta, Mary, MMary, Louise, Sharon, Babette, and all the newbies who I haven't remembered the names of yet,

Michele

Thanks for asking Begete and Sharon,

I had some kind of mysterious bug last night from just before dark till 11: ish and then slept with just my usual walks to the throne room durin the night. The oppisite of the big "D" and repeated projectile vomiting with pain so severe in my left lower abdomen that I thought an "alien" was goin to crawl out. I have never been so close to calling the paramedics in my life. This mornin I was so very weak but knew I was oing to live. I entered my symptoms into Web MD and there were several people posting exactly what I had had and they did in fact go to the emergency room and had every test in the book after they were admitted for a couple of days and there were NO findings at all except for lowered blood pressure and they were sent home. They all thought the same thing I did- "I am going to die"! Pom juice and pineapple juice bounced violently within minutes and I made a thermos of ice and water and sipped that as I know dehydration can be very dangerous. Putting the fans on high and sipping the ice water seemed to help. None of the posters had cancer so that reassured me a great deal.
Looks like a big nasty storm is coming so I covered all the gardening items and packed the cart and wheeled it into the garage. I have been nibbling boiled eggs and enjoyed half of my usual coffee. Needless to say I am going to lay low this whole day.
Gotta check the weather report. Hope all have a great day.
bbl
THANKS MICHELE- I AM FEELIN WAY BETTER TODAY.

I thought potato salad was one of the life requirements.

although I use cauliflower now instead of potato.

Not too much new here.

I had a cyst removed on my neck.
Jo got the last of her cataract surgery done earlier this week. She now keeps looking for her glasses and then realizes she no longer needs them. Next up for her is right knee replacement.

Lainey, did you eat or drink anything unusual yesterday? Sounds too danged miserable for just a bug.

Others seem to be having a good day, all the boards are sort of empty or whatever, people are out visiting and so forth. We did that yesterday, mother in law has a birthday today, turned 84. She only ordered a salad with chicken on top for lunch, my dh was disappointed, because she can have that at home every day.........but oh well. Wonder what kind of stuff we will do when we are older, that our kids will roll their eyes at and wonder???

Off to fix dh's deviled eggs, did the potato salad already, and he is grilling some very thin steaks for supper. I'm having spinach salad with mine, but getting tired of it.

Take care, friends!! SoCal Mary, are you watching racing today?

Love tater salad but love them eggs done like that even better.

Doug, my Mom kept wearing her glasses as she said she was too used to them. I didn't get glasses till my 50's so I threw them da*n things down real hard.
Doris, food poison was a thought but this paled any of that I have had in the past. I was amazed at those peoples posts on web MD. all ages, men and women and the hospital stays so that every test (they had them all- barium enema and swallow; X Rays; many, many blood test; endoscopies and on and on)...whew, sure was glad I tuffed it out! The scareyest thing was they everyone had more of those bouts- some were years later. They all had the LEFT lower abdomen severe pain which to me was the connection factor. If it happens to me again I'll just know to go to sipping ice water right from the thermos. Jeepers Doris, I should have pm'd this to you. Others are prolly gagging by now.
I did try some gardening today and pulled everything out and in 5 mins. put it all away again and slept most of the day away.
I am having fresh strawberries and cool whip for my dinner but the berries are not very sweet- should have sprinkled some stevia on them.
bbt
Hope all have a lovely Mother's Day- I got a gift $ card for 50.00 so I will get myself with that card and what is left on the Christmas one to Wally's and pick out a printer. Calling apple to see which ones they recommend for the MacBook Pro.
Take care.

You betcha, Doris, they're racing at Darlington tonight. Nice and quiet here today, been reading, writing and watching TV...when you mentioned potato salad, I boiled some eggs for deviling myself...will probably do the cauli salad, too, Doug, as I'm baking a tri-tip tomorrow that's marinating in the fridge as I type.

Hope all y'all's day has been good...and great things have been happening.

Those birds have interesting colors.lol Second one is a Jenday, then a Sun Conure,Hahns macaw (wrong spell, very small macaw),first and last two ?,never saw those colors.
Had a nice peaceful day,no rain and temps were nice.
The last kitten we got that was at school has a shorter tail, sometimes people cut tails but I think it's part Manx,it can jump up on things Mirecat would not even try, they are very hyper cats.Begete maybe yours has Manx in them. She is out in the bird barn so has lots of places to jump.
Lainey sorry for the bad night.
Michelle,I missed what happened to your arm.
Have a good night all.
