Just a jump start out the door for Tuesday.

Good morning to all.

Welcome Rachele. I'm new here too. Checking in helps me/reminds me/dares me/ to keep plugging away.

Rained here yesterday and brought that cool, crispy, smells good air that I love. Opened up the house and turned on the ceiling fans for even more cool which called for a blanket, a book, and a cup of hot tea. Heaven.

Was glad to wake up this morning as my dream was in a loop about naked old men on social security dancing. WTH?

Begete 04-30-2013 09:22 AM

Good morning and welcome to all newcomers :shake:

Gladys - want two more kittens? We love them a bunch, but we do NOT love getting up at 5:11 every morning when they want to play!

It rained last night which is a good thing because today John is forgoing his bridge game to help me move some plants and shrubs and a tree in the garden that are not happy in their currant locations. Our ground is like cement when it hasn't rained for a while, so this will make our job easier, I hope.

Have a good one.

Good morning ladies. We have rain and clouds and whatever today too. They say we will get some sun and warm up to 75 and that will be warmest day this week. I wish I was back in Florida. My daughter went down on Thursday and came back on Sunday. We had a nice time. Did lots of walking and exercise. Got in the pool but did not stay long. But long enough to burn a little. We went down for my brother in laws memorial service. When I got married, had 8 brother and sister in laws plus their partners. It is down to Betty and I and we both married into the family. She is 83 so more than likely I will be the soul survivor. I was engaged to my brother in law 4 years after both of us were widowed. I could just never give up and do the deed. I feel like a widow again though. Our suites hotel had a pond in front of it and on Saturday we went over and walked around it 3 times after breakfast. Then after the service we walked around it 3 more times. The temps were in mid to upper 80's and lows in upper 60's to low 70's. But my daughter is hot matured where I am cool. Finally went shopping and bought a fleece blanket to stay wrapped in. We had a couple of problems and too much food, but that is what memories are made of.

Tricia, you must know some old men. They dont like to wear clothes, most of them. The others dont want to show their ankles. Strange creatures. How old are you? Are you married? And you are doing veggies and fruits? Did you see Dr Oz on Friday. He had Billy banks jr and his wife on there. Their take was a little unusual. I might try it. I was doing great on low carb but it is so hard so much of the time. Good luck.

Morning all...tried to sleep in this morning but couldn't...my friends talked me into going out casino last night and it was after one a.m. when I got home...then it was impossible to go to sleep and when I did, it was up to go to the pot, dang I must have been up every hour...that's one way to stay away from the food; so I did stay under 500 kcals yesterday. Wasn't good for the pocket book, tho' but we had fun, so it was worth it. So today it's out to the other casino for some poker, might just leave the slots alone.

Hope you all have a great day.

mykneesareback 04-30-2013 05:00 PM

Just checking in, it's been a long day...........

Gee, some of you went out and had fun, worked, or had some good quiet time today, (or last night), lol.

This doctor stuff is wearing us out, but dh had to be checked out as his liver numbers were off base. It was so windy down in the valley, dust blowing everywhere, even birds didn't have to flap their wings!!

Have a good evening. :)

birdlady 04-30-2013 05:20 PM

Begete,I think if I were you I'd crate those guys after cuddle time.Bet they were crated in their foster home.
Rain here also, grass must be cut soon, after suffering with his foot I don't think C. will try again.
Doris,it will be so much easier after you move, you really need to get a rental. You may lose your buyer if you don't act soon.
Mary, you only have you to pamper, do it.I do a good job with that.Order it,play with it then give it away,go to the casino as often as you want, leave the guilt behind.lol
Loretta, you seem to be enjoying thing right now, good for you.
Lainey, sell some of that bling now and pay off cc's.

Thank YOU Linda for our kick off today. Love that pic of those ladies.

Tricia, funny you were dreaming of those old guys. I actually took my application form in today for my Old age Security to start later this year. No old men there.;)

Oh my goodness Gladys, He is building his own plane, wow a clever boy. Boys and their toys huh? :D
What a great idea for Babette to crate those Boys.

Doris, I wonder why it was so windy? No tornado watch is there?
Slow deep breaths and keep on hanging in there.:hugs::heart::hugs:

Lainey, What time do they land in DC? Funny I just FedEx some documents for DS this morning to DC cost me  $48 to be there for tomorrow morning.

Glad I got my app in for OAS yeah feels like free money will be coming in, even though I have paid in for the past 37 years and so did DH but he wasn't old enough to collect his.
I have several daffs now in bloom and tulips are almost ready to burst open. The lawn is a disaster though.:dunno:

Wishing All a pleasant evening and hope to be back tomorrow...

starryblu 04-30-2013 07:23 PM

just popping in to say hello. i actually had a very good day. had a dentist appointment this morning, and that always causes me so much stress i usually binge in a REALLY big way. today i didn't. i ate a little more than i have been eating, but didn't let it become a binge, and i stayed low carb. i was very satisfied with what i ate, and i feel really really good about that.

Mssarge 04-30-2013 08:24 PM

Well, the moon is waning and so is my luck at the casino. Late March and early April was really good for me as I kept booking winners every visit. Now, I can't do a thing...oh well, it's not too bad as I lost only $23 on the poker table today. The slots are another matter. And, yes Gladys, there is no guilt...I play only what I can afford to lose and it's my time away from the tail waggers. It's just so much better when you win.

Tomorrow is my next visit to the eye docs...keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm hoping the eye has stabilized enough for new pair of specs. Since I'm at the VA, then it's also a fasting blood test. My last one six months ago had the pcp kinda worried, high cholesterol, but I'd run out of the statin about three weeks before. So maybe this will be my indication that I need the statin...I guess we'll see, won't we? So, I won't be checking in in the morning, as it will be up and out the door for me. My eye appointment isn't until the afternoon, but I need my coffee.

We're going to be pushing 100 degrees, an early taste of summer. Susan, I know Doris will be answering you about the wind, but we get some crazy weather patterns here between the mountains and deserts and the ocean. We get winds here pushing cyclone speed and spring and autumn can bring our off-shore flows that run 50-60 mph easily. Depending on where Doris lives, those canyon winds can really get to whistlin'.

Hope you all had a great day and good things came your way.

Mssarge 04-30-2013 09:27 PM

BTW, found out this morning, our mayor and city council are being investigated by the feds...what gives with public servants...oh, excuse me, I guess they're no longer called that.

mykneesareback 04-30-2013 09:52 PM

Mary, it's WE who are the "servants".............:annoyed: , but nothing new about that. Hey, how is your electricity working, did the electrician fix everything and it's staying fixed this time?

Good Night, everyone, I'm pooped, been up since 3:45 due to neighbors working early hours and playing catch with their dog before they leave, lol.

Mssarge 04-30-2013 11:38 PM

Hey Doris, you've got that right...we are the servants. and yep! the electricity is running through the wires...at least for now. But of course we thought it was fixed last week. I'm confident he did it right this time.

Me, I'm pooped, too, late night last night and 3:45 sounds about right for me, too....catch all y'all tomorrow afternoon....

pfair143 05-01-2013 08:39 AM

Good morning to all.

evon[/QUOTE]

Hi evon. I do know a lot of old men because they are married to my wise girl friends. I've never seen any of them naked though, thank goodness.:o
I am 63, and married to a man who has spoiled me rotten.

I used to watch DR OZ but it seems he became one big informercial. I love Gary Taubes and was excited to see him on the show last year but the whole time he was speaking OZ just sat there shaking his head no. That was the last time I watched. I actually bought a Billy Banks (the Dad) tape (yes, it was that long ago) and he finished his warmup before I even got into position. I thought I had hit fast forward by mistake, but he really moves that fast!

I try to eat real food; no boxed, processed, or fast food, and no white food. I haven't had a soft drink in over 25 years. So why am I overweight? Sugar is my enemy. I have absolutely no problem turning down sugar and have no interest in it until late at night which is absolutely the worst time to eat it. Almost every night is a struggle but am winning more nights now than I'm losing. I love fruit and vegetables with some meat thrown in. Not really counting carbs, but this way of eating naturally curtails them.

I'm not giving up and wishing the best for all of us.
