Wilson's Law of Commercial Marketing Strategy - As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it, OR the store will stop selling it.

I have had that happen more than once. Or sometimes it's so long before I buy another lipstick that I like, the color is no longer available.

Have a great week folks. Enjoy all you can.

That's true, Loretta. I've argued with Max Factor company, their lipsticks had a really good smell, and I'm down to the bottoms of my last two tubes, their new stuff doesn't smell good, they claim they are "working on it"........

See yah tomorrow!

Light Coconut Milk is Coconut Milk with water added. Coconut Milk is expensive enough without paying for water. Buy the regular and add your own.

Sunday's foods DD

Successfully fought off the urge to buy from QVC today, although I was tempted on a coupla things. Not feeling as tired on this DD as I have the last couple but, of course, I haven't done a darn thing today except 'puter and finish a David Baldacci book. And, I had breakfast about noon, so didn't wait another six hours as I've been doing. We'll see how the scale bounces.

B. coffee/black, a Doris special...squash, mushroom, spinach egg white omelet but I added a bit of turkey sausage and bacon...crystal light for the pills and more coffee

S, started snacking around 4:30 (or 16:30 for my military buds)...a couple stalks of celery, cucumber and radishes with a bit of cottage cheese and a V-8, then added a chicken leg, dill pickle and a few olives and more V-8

600 kcals...not 500 but not too bad

Monday's Eats UD

Feeling good, energetic and actually got some stuff cleaned and put away in the living/dining room...it's starting to look pretty good. Even better, I'm getting my "craft corner" straightened out and the table cleared....yea!

B. about 1100: coffee/milk, hash browns, bacon and eggs...trop 50 for the pills and more coffee afterward.

s. decaf/milk

S. small lettuce & tomato salad, t-bone steak, steamed asparagus, and a new recipe...dressy cauliflower casserole I found in a new book. flowerettes, sauteed onion & mushrooms in a cheesy sauce. Will let you know how it works...I did mess with the recipe as I didn't have cream...I used a bit of cottage cheese and milk along with the cheddar and forgot the mayonaise. Oh! and a glass of merlot.

1300 kcals

yum!

I said I'd report back on the cauliflower...and I can say, it was yummy and I'm adding it to my table frequently....here's the recipe in case you're interested. Of course, I messed with it as I was trying to make only a serving or so and wound up making too much...it will come handy in a day or so

Dressy Cauliflower Casserole

Description Cauliflower is a great food for keeping carbs low, but can become quite boring when prepared over and over again. This recipe dresses up this vegetable by using other seasonings for a flavor that almost makes you forget about the main ingredient. Yields: 6 Servings

Ingredients 1 fresh head cauliflower, broken up, or 1 16 ounce frozen bag, cooked and drained
½ cup onion, diced
1 ½ cup fresh mushrooms
2 Tablespoons butter
¼ cup heavy cream
¼ cup mayonnaise
4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
¼ cup green onions, chopped

Instructions Warm oven to 350 degrees F. Place prepared cauliflower in a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
In a skillet, sauté onion and mushrooms in the butter.
Add to the cauliflower and mix. Mix in cheese.
In a small bowl, combine cream and mayonnaise. Pour the sauce over the cauliflower mix and coat well. Sprinkle the top with green onions.
Bake, covered, for 25 minutes. Remove lid and bake another 10 minutes, or until the top is brown and crispy.

Tuesday's foods DD

Feeling good, energetic and a bit sleepy 'cause I got up a bit earlier than usual...I never thought 7:30 would be considered early for me. Comes with the territory I guess. Just now sitting down to eat...

had coffee before I left for the casino and a couple of cups out there, a cup of green tea and the ubiquitous tomato juice with four small olives.

Having yesterday's casserole for supper with added chicken breast and a slice of bacon, along with a cup of decaf...will post kcals later when I figure 'em out.

too bad you don't drink the wine, Doris, it would go well with the toast and maybe settle the stomach a bit...I can understand not having an appetite, tho', with what you've been through...now the question is, will you go through with the sale of your house and come down from your mountain? Best of luck to you and the DH. Hope you don't have to make any other serious decisions in the next few days....relax and treat yourself.

adding some popcorn and a diet soda to my food for the day...total kcals around 400.

My dh says he is through with buying or selling houses, he is calling around next week to get some estimates to have some things done to this house, and we are staying put.

Thanks for your concern, Mary, I'm sitting here sniveling still, this is silly now.

Wednesday: 1/2 decaf black coffee
Brunch: scrambled eggs, bacon
Lunch: fruit w cottage cheese
6:00: baked spagetti, salad, garlic bread, wine
Snack: peanuts, CF diet soda

Talking about cauliflower reminds me that a gopher was busy eating John's plants. We caught him red handed the other day and the poor gopher had to eat some lead.

Wednesday's Food UD

Went to our bake sale after all...the spa guy came out early and replaced a couple of thermostats and now it's heating fine...too bad I can't hop into it right now but I'm waiting for a friend to pick me up as she's playing hookey tonight from work and wants to go out and play...so back to the casino for me. The spa will always be there...at least for now.

B. coffee/milk, eggs & bacon, eggo waffle & sf syrup, trop 50 for the pills.

Had to laugh, because my normal Up day breakfast is about 500 kcals, today's was right at 700...just the waffle, mo bettah butter and sf syrup added that much.

s. cookie and a lemon square with a frapracino at the bake sale...oh yeah, an apple, too.

late L or early S...lupper, tried Carl Jr's baked cod as a lettuce wrap, a small order sweet potato fries, and a diet pepsi..glad I tried the cod, but won't do it again.

so far 1400 kcals, and will have something else later...who know's what and I know the Shadow doesn't know.
