I'm up, I'm up....Thanks for the start up Julie. Will be back when I have my coffee. A mockingbird is singing a sunrise song somewhere close. Love to see them back again.

Good morning all...starting our warm-up and will soon be in the 80's; so what would you expect for SoCal...Spring has sprung and the Santana's are blowing...drying up and with the little bit of rain we had this year, the fires will be bad I expect.

The folks in West, Texas, are in my thoughts and, of course, all the runners and friends/family from the Boston disaster.

Thanks again for the reminder of companion planting...I planted the nasturtiums seeds but will check with a nursery while I'm out and about to see if they have any stock yet. I put some chopped lemon around the poor stevia plant hoping that will help with my immediate problem.

Back to ortho today for the other knee...since I'll be going twice a week, I'll not be mentioning it. Just glad when the injections are over and I'll start the physical therapy. I'm also back to the eye doc on the first, and will be hoping the eyes have changed enough for a new 'script...this is the pits having such poor vision. Strange, some days are better than others. Right now my near vision in the right eye (the one that had the surgery) is really good without the glass and I can read the stuff on the 'puter....other times it's so blurry it just seems like a blob. This, too, shall pass (I hope).

Hope you all have a good day...a couple of errands today but will be back later...hugs to all.

Today I am work until 1 then I will go home and put a pork roast in the oven. I dread tomorrow. We are invited out to friends and I know the menu...it is a tradition for us and these friends. It is deperssion foods our parents and grandparents ate. Entree is made of flour, eggs and water fried in a cast iron skillet. Topped with canned peaches, stewed tomatoes or Karo syrup. For drinks there will be beer and several types of home made wines. Salad and desset....oatmeal walnut pie! Other than not going, not sure what to do. I think I will try and keep damage to the minimum and try and get back in the saddle Sat morning. I lost 10 lbs and need to keep going!

So sorry and upset by the explosion near Waco now.

I'd better post while I still am allowed.

We are having a meeting with our realtor to put the house up for sale this morning, so rushing off. Did get an hour and a half on the bike, though, lol.

See yah!!

Doris, if you didn't post here, many of us would also leave.

Good morning. Between the Boston marathon bombing and the Texas explosion I feel like our entire country has been punched.

The good news is that I am down a full 6 pounds as of this morning

WisMis, when faced with something like that, could you bring your own food to the party without offending your friends? Not sure where you are on the plan, but an alternative might be to eat a large LC meal before you leave for the party and then just have a small bite of what is being served. As for the beer, just decline and ask for iced water.

Gardeners, don't miss the other thread I started yesterday about companion and antagonist planting.

Not much going on here. Thought you might like to see a UTube about our town:

Oh my Doris! Things are happening fast for you now. So glad to see as you have your new home patiently waiting for you both in TX. I'm so happy for you and Dh. I just know you will be happy watching your grandson grow up and being close to your other son and daughter-in-law.

Mary we may be getting more wind here this afternoon. Right now it's 75 degrees. Perfect weather for being outside.

Begete thank you for that great thread. So much good info.

Emmaline hopefully your day is better and your NK flu is passing. Take it easy.

I best be getting myself going. Going to try for a walk with the fur kids. See you later.

Sharon, I don't subscribe to UTube but often look at those posted by Facebook friends. What I do if I want to post them here is go to the actual video, and copy what appears in my navigation bar (beginning with the http://) and then post that here.
Hope this helps.

Jeepers, I did not post her yet.

The physical therapist did me in yesterday. She is much tougher than Mike.
I am hurting everywhere with soreness all over. Going for 1/2 pain pill and a cup of coffee. I DID get the strip from the fence to the curb whacked and took a nap and woke up hurting a plenty.

Thank you Begete. I'll try that sometime.

Lainey you need a nice evening now resting with your book or a nice cuddle with kitties. Take care and good job getting some weeds whacked. See you in the morning.

Thank you for the lovely video, Begete, what a beautiful area you live in!!!

Lainey, I worry that the therapist's are overdoing your therapy, does your doctor agree with how you feel afterwards? None of my business though, I know............

Sharon, I forgot, are they doing your skylight yet, or am I missing the timing of that? Hoping that it gets done in good time, just in time for more daylight for you to enjoy!!

It feels "funny" to us, to put our house up for sale, after over 30 yrs., sort of feel "guilty", is that weird or what?? Like when you buy a new car, and trade in the old, but tried and true one. Am I the only one that feels too sentimental like this?

Doris our skylight is in and boy do I like it! It took a couple of days trying to turn the hall light off when I went through. Dh and I laughed about that. Now I'm ok.

Thanks for the start off, Julie.

Babette, lovely place that you live. It is really beautiful.

Doris, it is really difficult to sell a home that you built and have lived in for so many years. Been there, done that twice.

Too pooped to do more than just say hi to everyone.
Been out and about today and really over did it. This old age SUCKS!

No Doris- I am loving the P.T. and will be doing her style at home. She put me on the recumbent bike and I thought of you- is yours with the chair seat like mine? I was on it for 7 minutes with a BH & Gardens mag. and I will truly add that to my every other day at home start Wed. next week. I can sure tell that my body is way more toned than when I started- big noticable difference.
Big rain coming toniht with a cooler but nice day tomorrow. Hair wash and my next to the last P.T. and I still need to get my plants to plant.

I see what you are doing, Lainey, relax and enjoy, lol. No, our bike is a climb up and sit one, but dh is going to get a recumbunt after we move, I will keep on using this one, since my butt has grown to like it
