Just a quick hi before my head hits the pillow. See you all in the morning. :)

Mssarge 04-15-2013 11:22 PM

Love the jpeg, Doris, that's the one thing I was missing for the tea last Saturday....gloves. See ya all in the morn....sleep tight.

birdlady 04-16-2013 04:01 AM

Good Morning gang,
Went to sleep on the sofa till 11:30 then could not go back to sleep. Will sleep later.
Have a great day all.

Norfolk Mermaid 04-16-2013 06:19 AM

Jumpin aboard Doris,
lots to do.

ocali 04-16-2013 06:47 AM

Gee, I'd better check in, too. Lainey, the dollar weeds down here must be different then what you're describing. Here, it's considered a weed that grows in lawns and no one wants them. I have no clue how I got them except perhaps when the huge mowers go from house to house they may have carried some of the seeds on their wheels. Oh well, at least they're green.
Linda, like you...my daughter would only drive a stick shift all these years. She was so stubborn about not driving an automatic until she bought her first Lexus and now she loves the automatic. Of course, she also has all the bells and whistles, too. I know the manuals are very hard to find now.
Boston is where I lived the first 20 years of my life and my first job was right in the area of the bombings yesterday, so I am very familiar with it. Another tragedy here in the U.S.A.

tatehouse 04-16-2013 08:11 AM

I was so shocked at the Boston bombings. But with all the terrible tragedy I was heartened at the film of the first responders and all the others running straight into the smoke to help. It was very brave and I commend and bless the first responders.

Michele and Julie. Thanks for the heads up on the Department store show that comes on after Midwife. I have them all on the dvr but have not watched them. Ya'll are the first I heard of that has watched. If ya'll don't like it I'm sure I won't...think I'll just erase it.
Love Midwife, though. Hope Chummy comes back soon.

Maggie was thrilled with her hair cut and of course everyone was commenting on it all day at school. She told me her friends told her they loved her hair all day!! Quite a change...I'm trying to get the pictures on here...bear with me...

Hope you all have a great day and a good week ahead.

Mssarge 04-16-2013 09:11 AM

Good morning all...a chilly 45 degrees in SoCal and I hear people carping about our cooler weather all over the place....I don't, I enjoy it as one thing I'm sure of, "it will get warmer here." That's a sure bet...today's poker day so it's off to the casino I go. Have a great day folks.

Begete 04-16-2013 09:41 AM

Good morning,

Very discouraged. Still back up over a pound even though I spent lots of time losing water during the night. I so missed Pandora sleeping with us, I forgot that young cats do not necessarily "sleep" for long stretches. Last night they jumped all over us all night and we got little sleep.

I thought I posted that we disliked Mr Selfridge and turned it off after the first hour?

Since it is not raining, I am off to garden....have a good one.

LoveMontana 04-16-2013 09:46 AM

Pouring rain and extremely windy here today. Don't know if I'll even venture out.

Love Maggie's haircut.:) BBL

Shalbrihil 04-16-2013 10:21 AM

Morning ladies. We even got heavy winds here last night. Now it's calm but last night our trees did a real shake. rattle. and roll. Made for great sleeping.

Good luck at the casino Mary and a great meal at the buffet.

Yesterday I asked Dh to help me change the battery in my little Timex indiglo. We got the back off and the new battery in but try as we did the back would not go back in place. Well to make a long story short my crystal got crushed and the back still is still not on. I've just ordered another watch from Amazon.

The magnesium is helping the muscle spasms I've been having lately so will keep taking twice a day. I just hate those muscle cramps.

Have a real good day today and I'll check in later.

LoveMontana 04-16-2013 10:25 AM

Magnesian is great, but add some diet tonic water too. The quinine in it really helps according to my physician.

Shalbrihil 04-16-2013 10:27 AM

Thanks Linda I'll do that. I like mineral water but think that's a different drink. I'll look for it.

Norfolk Mermaid 04-16-2013 10:30 AM

That reminds me to pick up some diet tonic and some limes- I love that combo in the summer time. I get those charly horses as well but also buy OTC PM leg cramp meds. You should see me hobblin into the kitchen to get some water and those pills during a bad back of the leg and even foot durin the niht.

OOPS, sorry about the double post. I do not know how to delete the second one.

tatehouse 04-16-2013 11:16 AM

Babette, I don't remember reading that you disliked Mr. Selfridge but that makes it even more delete worthy...thanks...

mykneesareback 04-16-2013 11:18 AM

It was 32 this morning, and a stiff, cold, nasty wind out there, but clear as a bell, lol.

Been washing floors, and rugs, and trying to get stuff out of the way, some people want to look at the house, even though it isn't up officially yet, friends of neighbors from the bay area. Still haven't heard from the loan lady though.

Have a safe day, people!!!

Off to place butt on bike, for heaven's sakes, need to get away from the computer. ;)

This is supposed to be Maggie's hair before her haircut...hopefully it came through?

Low Tech Annie

LoveMontana 04-16-2013 01:22 PM

Love the new look Maggie has. She is getting to be a big girl and no longer a baby.

mykneesareback 04-16-2013 02:00 PM

Anne, I love Maggie's new hair style, and easier to care for, for everyone involved. Thanks for posting.

Back to the bike, hoping everyone is having a good day, and hugs to Louise and Bob, too........:console:

Verleen, how are you doing?

Linda, how is your "cheek" doing? ;)

ocali 04-16-2013 02:04 PM

I was right! Maggie looks like a big girl now. Love the look!!

Begete 04-16-2013 02:21 PM

mykneesareback 04-16-2013 04:04 PM

You said it, Begete! How many plants did you put in this season? My dh can't wait for us to move, so he can actually grow stuff again, like when we lived in the Bay area. Do you have more than one greenhouse?

LoveMontana 04-16-2013 05:40 PM

LOL Babette, I like that . It sure would be , if one had a green thumb.

Doris, thank you for asking. It's slow healing, and I still have some visual disturbances because of swelling, I hope. But much better than it was.

Begete 04-16-2013 05:50 PM

It's been cold and rainey here, Doris. Haven't even set up greenhouse yet. I don't have a real greenhouse. Mine is a plastic tent like contraption that goes over a frame I leave out year round.

It doesn't get hot enough here to grow tomatoes the way I used to grow them in PA. I think I lost my desire to cook after we moved at least partially because I am not used to having to buy tomatoes in a can for sauces, etc. I always canned my own. I always cooked real tomatoes to make Italian gravy or what they call sauce in non Italian neighborhoods.

But I keep trying.....

mykneesareback 04-16-2013 06:33 PM

:shake: :shake: Yep, trying is what we are used to, but it's alot more fun to have a better chance of success ;)

Linda, glad you are mending, slowly but surely.

Dang, it is so cold outside, had to wear a heavier jacket to go to the compost pile and tried to stand out there, but too windy and snow showers. Poor birds came right to the pile, to see what there was for snack......they do enjoy the egg shells.

Mssarge 04-16-2013 08:41 PM

:sing:I stayed too long at the fair, well, casino...I try to leave early so I'm not contending with the sun in my eyes all the way home. So guess what, yeah!, sun in the eyes all the way home. Went out there about 11 a,m, and there was a truck accident in the pass, almost to Beaumont. They were still there when I came back through at 7 p.m...musta been a bad one although it didn't look as tho' there was any damage...the truck was turned completely around and they were still unloading it when I came through and the hasmat team was there, too. Love to know what happened.

Although I stayed too long, it was very worthwhile...booked a W in both poker and the slots. Didn't do the buffet, tho, brought home some Panda Express which was very tasty....thank goodness for up days.

Someone mentioned it here recently, I know my way of eating is working when I try to eat more than I really need. I made a couple of pancakes this morning, fiber one, and had only one and one egg instead of the two I normally have. I know we write of it over on the JUDDD board, but it's nice when it comes up over here, too.

Hope everyone had a good day today even with the cold and wind keeping the chill on.
