Mary I just blot them good with a paper towel before adding to a frypan. I sauté the noodles with a shallot and then either add some soft cheese or marinara sauce with some meat if having spaghetti. They take a very short time to cook. I like them a little under cooked so they don't get mushy.

Thanks....I have also tried 'em with a bit of lf cream cheese & parm and like them very "al dente" I guess today I was extremely sensitive to the water in zucchini 'cause the stuff I had at the BBQ joint would have been graded at the most a D-minus 'cause the breading wouldn't stay on and they tasted more like water...guess I'll have to make a trip to Farmer Boys for some of their zucchini.

Thursday's foods

I buy about 10 zucchini a week, because they are available the year around at fairly reasonable prices at most every store. Used to use bell peppers, but they got too pricy and you couldn't find them in winter time.

B: cut up zucchini, mushrooms, onion, browned a bit. 1/2 cup egg subs. added. flaxmeal, garlic. Grated parm
black coffee

L: 2 slices wheat bread, tuna on toast, and H/B egg. Grape tomatoes in a bowl. black coffee

Snack: V8 can, still trying to use them up. Black coffee

D: kippered snack from the can, and steamed asparagus
black coffee

Evening snack: chocolate pudding from Nutrisystems, and grapefruit segments. black coffee

We're trying bell peppers in our garden this year. We always have spaghetti squash and 2 types of zucchini that grow like weeds. . We put in a Herloom (sp) tomato plant named green zebra. That will be fun.

Well just had breakfast will post that later. Time to start my day.

Oh Sharon, I'd love to grow bell peppers, we couldn't even do it in San Jose, and don't know yet how Texas would be for that. Good Luck! I've seen those Zebra tomatoes before, down in the valley, farmer's market. One thing I won't grow is cucumbers, just can't face the smell of them, and dh doesn't eat them either, but people seem to grow tons of them and give them away in the summer up here.

I bought some grapes, green ones, haven't had any in years, and I'm going to have some more tomorrow, need to finish up the grapefruit tonight. Glad fruit is coming in now, at not too bad prices!!

How are the rest of you guys doing, do you have strawberries growing in the local areas yet?

Mary, where would you like to travel if you had the chance, somewhere in the USA or some other country?

Friday's Foods UD

feeling good...left the house only to go get my lotto ticket for tomorrow. Was going to take trike to N, but she's out working at another's house, so that will wait til tomorrow. Can hardly wait for Maddie to see it...three years old and this will be her first trike.

B. ham & scrambled eggs, with a mix of oj and crystal light for the pills, coffee fore and aft.

s. chocolate covered macadamias...oh my! with a cup of decaf

S. good ol' southern-style goulash...I call it slumgullen. Dreamfields elbows, with marinara (was trying to use up leftovers and created a bigger leftover with the sauce), added zoodles and some cannellini beans, Italian sausage (trying to empty some stuff from the freezer), a glass of merlot to go with, and another to follow soon.

1600 kcals

Doris, you ask where I'd travel...oh my, again. I'd love to go back to Tokyo to see some friends, Seoul Korea if the crazy doesn't take it off the map....loved the Orient. I've friends in Alaska, Fairbanks, I'd love to see again...not in the winter, fer shure! Always wanted to go to Europe...walk Hadrian's Wall, and go to Scarborough Faire. Italy, for sure, and have a bier in the Hof Brau Haus.

Anywhere in the States...I love traveling through this country of ours and I've not been to Alabama and New England, except for the lower states as far as Rhode Island and I've only been at the airport in Atlanta...love to see Georgia as my ancestors moved there and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Sorry, you asked. Maybe in another life..Oh! and I want to take a cruise in the Caribbean and maybe South America...go around "The Horn." I was born with itchy feet and love to travel. Do you think I could hire a companion to drive the coach and we could see the U.S.A....it's not a chevrolet, tho'.

Loretta, did you eat at a fish fry?

Mary, wish your tooth/jaw issue would go away soon.

Other Mary, what do you know about your Georgia relatives, are they in a cemetary there that you could look up, or any relatives still there? We would like to go to Germany one more time, to see the few relatives that are left, but we won't ever do that.

See you tomorrow!

Feeling really good and enjoyed being able to wear the pearls...I had a hat but the ladies I was riding with needed one, so we stopped at the PX and the choices were so great, I wound up buying two more...needless-to-say, I love hats.

Coffee before I left, tea at the Tea

broke fast at 6 p.m. and wasn't hungry all day. Had to apologize to the folks at the church tho, but I just said I was on a fast, and no one said anything about it.

S. Costco Salad, (I call it that since it was a sample at Costco one day and I liked it so much, I bought the fixings) Costco Salad...tossed salad with the marinated artichoke, bacon bits a few ounces turkey and sesame dressing..

300 kcals...may have a snack later, but trying not to...
