Boy o boy. The wind is really blowing. I felt much better today and went to book club....first outing in 2 1/2 weeks. Tomorrow DH and I plan shopping for induction......

I have met Linda and she is so pretty, hard to believe anything needs fixin.

Lainey - do take it easy. Everyone says it takes a good 3 weeks to fully recover from this.

Anne - do you need an exorcist?

Thanks Begete for the kick off tonight. I'm still laughing from your question to Anne. One has to wonder as things come in bunches sometimes.

See everyone tomorrow.

Glad Linda is up and moving at least, but the pain isn't any fun.

Lainey, do you have pneumonia or bronchitis?

Begete, how is your garden doing now, will you get out there this weekend?

Anne, your tales of woe with house hold stuff breaking down scares me, too!

Gladys, glad you can deal with the animal's "results" still by yourself.

Michele, we barely had any rain, just windy and cool, have to wear a sweater because of the wind though.

Well, we signed some papers for a house last night, will sign some more this afternoon.......looked at 5 houses yesterday, but were going to look at 8, and the other sold within hours, it's a "hot market" down here in Texas allright, at least in this area. We are heading back home a day earlier so we can get our papers together to fax back here.

So, minds spinning, that's it.

Waving at you, Verleen!! Hope Loretta gets better soon, too.

dh is napping right now, he is worn out, but I'm anxious more than worn out.

Waving at Mary, Susan, Sharon, Doug, Julie, and my brain stopped working right now.........sorry. Not dealing with a full deck.

Take care, friends! We haven't told anyone else about us moving yet, some will not like it, back in California.

Wow, Doris, that was fast! Good luck on your choice, etc., etc. Give us a description of the house and how about a picture? You can't leave us guessing..lol.
Is it close to your son? What city?

I did go out to dinner with a great group last night. We had a great time, laughed long and hard. Of course, the two glasses of wine were the cause of that..lol. I was afraid that the wine and the meal (salmon, mashed potatoes, asparagus) would upset my stomach, but it hasn't happened.

It did rain last night and my sprinkler system went on early this a.m., so my fertilizer is well watered.

Hi to everyone!! Lainey, you need some prescription meds.

That's wonderful Doris. It's going to be fun being close to your grandson and hopefully you won't need to travel so much getting Dh needs met. Pictures please

I'm just getting up and having my first cup of coffee. I wonder why those cups taste so good first thing? After morning coffee than I head for water and iced tea.

I think the light rain passed us by. We had some gusts but nothing came of it except a nice cool down in temp. We're getting wild pigeons at our bird feeder. Boy are they big eaters! They come in morning and evening so have been filling the feeders twice a day now. Between that and the dove we are getting quite a variety.

Time to see what's for breakfast. Think I'll have some leftover protein waffles and bacon.

Good morning all, weather is so boring here (which SoCal people like it that way) that soon I'll stop mentioning it, but for now is's sunny and temps in the 70's...our morning fog is disappearing so tomorrow will be clear. I guess that's a good thing. One thing we know is that it will get hot and we don't have to contend with snow...which is a good thing.

Doris, I'm so excited for you...glad you found what you were looking for so you'll soon be out of the mountains and into the flats...unless you're buying in the Texas Hill Country...but even that will be a relief, I'm sure...and probably a better solution for the DH's care....good for you.

Lainey, hope you're feeling a bit better every day until this bug is gone, gone, gone.

Waving at all and I'm trying to decide if I have time for a casino run for poker before my doc's appointment at 3 p.m. Y'all take care and do something good for yourself today.

Gotta make another post with a recommendation...for the Keurig coffee makers. Yesterday at the PX I bought the coffee cups for the Keurig...you know, the off-brand one like you see on TV, I'm not going to give the brand name, but they are absolutely wonderful!!!!!!

They fit into the regular slot in the coffee maker, not like the K-cup that you have to take the thingie out to insert your own coffee into the basket. If you have a Keurig, you know what I mean and sometimes the thingie is very difficult to take out for a woman who has arthur itis visiting the hands. They're a finer mesh than than the branded one and come four in a package so you can make up several cups for your favorite brand of coffee...needless to say, I love 'em and highly recommend them.

I'm fortunate in that some stores in my area stock the "as seen on TV" products so you don't have the added expense of shipping and having to deal with the "wait, for a few dollars more you can have...." Even if you're thinking of picking up one of these coffee makers/dispensers, you might consider picking these up, too.

I found these just after I stocked up on my favorite K-cups (slapping the back of the head NCIS style) Duh! So I'm well stocked on coffee for a long time.

Hi. I have a question. Have any of you ordered mail order frozen meals? If so, what is your opinion about them? I am having 2 problems. First is dehydration which put me into the hospital. Second is malnutrition. My gp is concerned because blood work found me deficient in certain nutrients and my gp found I lost 6 lbs during the past month and I'm not dieting. I'm just not eating. Nothing tastes good or appealing to me. I get food poisoning so easily because my immune system is gone. That has turned me off eating. I tried those nutritional drinks but they make me throw up. I've tried them all, so please no recommendations down that route. I like real whole fresh foods that are home cooked. I am the only one who can cook in my family and I can do that less and less. My husband feeds me a can of Campbell's soup, a P & J sandwich, occasionally a grilled cheese that is charred black (that's how he likes them). Plus he walks away from the kitchen when he's cooking and has burnt up two brand new ranges in the past 6 yrs. So I really don't like him cooking. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place. If I could find a company the mailed frozen, prepared meals that taste good, I'd like to find them. I looked at nutrisystem, but they want you to buy the whole program. I just want to buy their food, but they won't sell it to me. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about your wreck, Linda. Hope you are feeling ok without any residual effects. Got a pic of that car???

One more fish fry to go here and then we will go fishing ourselves. Glad to see them coming to an end. The weather here is very wintery. Enough, already.

Michele, thank you! I think that's just what I'm looking for. It will cost me $19 for shipping about 17 meals, but its worth it to have some good food to eat.

Wow, Michele, what a great idea and it looks like a very good menu...at least from their website. Good luck, Verleen, hope that is what you need.

Back again following my doc's visit and everything is looking really good except the total cholesterol is very high (for me) although the HDL and triglycerides are good...I've been without my statin for about three weeks so that may be why. I'm kind of glad to see the high LDL without the statin as I've been considering dropping it. I'll get the script in the mail within a few days and go back for a follow-up check in six weeks, so I'll know for sure. I had asked my cardiologist about dropping it and he had said the dosage was so low to continue taking it. So, I guess we'll see. All the other levels are really good, including liver panel which I was a bit concerned about as I'm taking two tylenol p.m.'s every night to help me sleep...maybe I should consider dropping them and see how I'm sleeping.

Don't really understand why the cholesterol is high as my diet hasn't changed that much except I've reduced my egg, beef and pork intake and increased veggies...no exercise, tho', so that may be one cause...just walking a mile or so most days so I guess that's not enough.

Hope you've had a good day and great things came your way.
