Monday, March 18..Roll Call
After only three hours of sleep, I'm up. Not another light on in the neighborhood.
I've been in touch with Ginny and she is taking a break from posting. She is well and enjoying the usual activities here in Florida.
Hopefully, I'll be back later.....
lost my post. too sick to do another.
Worse cold I have ever had and that includes the flues as well. The constant cough is the worse part with my ribs and stomach feelin like they are bein stabbed.
Skipped yesterdays post and will prolly miss today as well.
Need food which might make me better but no will to fix anything at all.
bbl or t
Glad to hear that Ginny is ok. Hope you told her we missed her.
My dryer went kaput this weekend. I had to buy another. Sheesh. One step forward and two steps back.
Maggie ran a little fever yesterday but went to school this morning. Hopefully the school won't call for me to come get her.
Have a great week all. Sorry you have a cold Lainey...hope the rest of ya'll are ok.
Lainey sounds like you might have a little bronchitis to go along with that cold. I was my sickest when a had a bout with bronchitis a few years ago. Take care.
I had a busy weekend with DS and the grands in Evansville. They are constantly on the go. Just a few of yesterday's activities include, church, shop, YMCA, Took 2 to roller skate and stayed there, then off to the local Art Museum, out to eat and then finally we got to get the Pannera bread leftovers for their food pantry. Up until 10:30 or so and up at 4:30 to get to Hospice office. Whew. Glad to be home and will hit the hay early tonight. Not complaining and happy to be able to go and do.
Anne it seem that you have had your share of Murphy's Law at your place. Hope Maggie is ok and they keep her at school today.
Julie, hope you find some time to rest today. Thanks for the news on Ginny.
Thanks Anne and Linda,
no temp- it is low as usual like my bp. I am drinking a 20 oz moca coffee but cannot bring myself to eat anything.
Good morning all. Foggy and cool here in SoCal but going up into the 70's so Spring is still here a little early. I guess the Vernal Equinox is Wednesday so I'm hoping everyone is starting to feel it. Although I hear another storm is expected to pound the Northeast tomorrow...well, at least we know Spring will be here soon.
Julie, thanks for the word on Ginny...hope she's enjoying the fun Florida things before they start heading back to the midwest.
Got a question for you all...don't know if I've picked up a bug in the 'puter (which is most likely) or if a bug has invaded the site. I'm getting words linking to ads in your posts. "For example, in Lainey's post the words "constant and cough" are highlighted and linked to an ad for cough medicine. In Loretta's post the words "roller and skates" are linked to another ad. It started about a week ago with the word "prayer" in posts. Is anyone else seeing this?
Those hackers are so pernicious and I don't understand why they do it, except they can. I'm also on a soapbox about ads on websites. I hate what Amazon has done with the pop-up ads and inserting stuff onto their pages. I guess it's another way to make money but it is so frustrating. Okay, off the soapbox.
It's going to be a busy week...doctors' appointments on Wednesday and Thursday (eye and gp), gotta do a fasting blood test before I go to the gp and, of course, poker day at the casino tomorrow. It's good to have something to do. and of course, they're starting construction on the road through the canyon which is a two-laner so traffic will be a mess through June....sigh!
Hope you have a good day and I'll bbl.
Mary now extra highlighted words here. But sure will watch now. I just get the usual ones from Netrition.
We're heading for Farm Supply to look at there tomato plants today. Keeping my fingers crossed the cold snap is behind us. I'm going to be looking for a nice flowering plant combo for a planter box we're doing in the middle of our grass lawn too. Something different and pretty to look at. I'm going to try for plants that the birds that live in our yard like. And of course some for the hummers.
Laniey take care. Hopefully your are over the hump with that cold and cough.
Begete great to see your long post. Glad to see your PX is knocking that bug you had to the mat.
Mary so glad you are enjoying your Downton Abby season. I can hardly wait until it all starts up again. :)
Best wishes to all who need them. Loretta you are my inspiration with all that you do. I'm hoping my walking will come back when this weight is back down where it was. Scale is going in the right direction now so knock on wood and pray it doesn't start the yoyo stuff again.
Mary,not showing up here.
Had a nice week-end,got to ride the Deere for 45 min. on Fri.The first time this year, but not the last.lol.
Have a great day all.
Thanks...I thought it was only on this site but am seeing it on other sites now, as well. Guess it's time to clean the hard drive...yeccch! Oh well, more house keeping.
Lainey, it's really hard to tell when your symptoms are caused by a virus or bacteria, or a viral infection that turns into a bacterial one. If it is bacterial, you need an antibiotic.
It sounds like your symptoms are the same as mine....cough, scratchy throat, cold and zero appetite. One day I had a fever over 100, but the rest of the time it was normal. I also had a bit of an ear infection, but the Dr thought that could have been from the flight I had just taken.
Anyhow, DH were just talking about whether after two weeks, my improvement of late is due to the antibiotic I finally started taking 3 days ago, or whether the virus just ran its course. Impossible to tell.
Strongly suggest Mucinex if you have some or a friend who can pick some up for you, and if you continue to feel worse, an antibiotic.
Another freebie over on the Kindle e-store...Dan Brown's The DaVinci Code...free today, or for a short time. I've been lucky and picked up The Lost Symbol for free sometime last year...looks like the big publishers are starting to allow kindle to do special pricing...another result of the DOJ case.
Begete I have seen that Musinex in this house for weeks but oh nooooo not today. I'll look around a little more tomorrow. The cough is much less often and not nearly as big a HACK... needless to say that is sure easier/less painful.I do now see what COPD could be like and I sure do not want to o there. I am OFF the ciggies now and for as long as I last on this great big blue marble.
Woah, time to et back into the bed while I still can.
I checked into "Quit Net" and they are still just as sweet as they were over 13 years ago.
Have a reat evening and will BBL or T.
Thanks Julie for your report on our Ginny. I am happy that she is enjoying her time in Florida and not sitting at the pc posting. LOL!
What's with your sleep? Do you take Melatonin that usually fixes me up as we get older we produce less of it so a little top up of 3mg does the trick for me. Just my humble opinion.
Oh Lainey, Yuk on that bad cold and cough. Wishing you a speedy recovery.:hugs:
Mary, I am so glad to hear that you are 'hooked' on Downton Abbey.;) How enjoyable is that, one after the other; a binge indeed!
No funny words showing up on my pc here either.
Gladys, You have grass already? Wow! WTGG on your J Deere.
Sharon, thank you for educating me on the breed of your little fur buddy. What size are they? weight full grown? They look on the small midsize. I think that is the largest I would get. I have been browsing the dog adoption sites lately as I know my old guy is well into his senior years now. I could give another one a second chance eventually.
Whew! Loretta, on that busy day and kudos :high5: for helping at the Hospice. How many hours do you do at a time? Our shifts are 4 hours. I have only done two shifts so far at the office on reception. It is way too quiet at reception. I like to be busier. I do more with the newly bereaved. Funny how we ex nurses need to be busy huh?
Anne, hope the school didn't call you re Maggies little fever.
Too bad about the dryer. You will be all mod cons now.;)
Linda, I see WE are in for another snowfall tomorrow, lets hope this is the last huh?
Babette, Glad to hear you are improving and can hear the tv again. I have headphones for that reason permanently as DS finds the volume too high for him. I have a Bose system, it works well for my hearing loss.
Continued positive thoughts for Louise's recovery and Verleen's house plans.
Happy House hunting Doris.:jumpjoy:
I hope I remembered everybody.:confused::stars:
:venting: Well darn it all, Was in a 12 car pile up on I 86 just about 10 miles from home. Right now I feel like crap, but the 600 milligrams of ibuprofen take the edge off. Have a fx. nose and rt. orbital floor.:stars:
Evening........not a good day for me but I feel better this evening. We got the fireplace inspected with flying colors. However we found out that the 2 roof chimneys need $1,800 worth of work. :stars: It is an old house, built in 1875. Today the contractor did the plumbing work. He replaced two toilets with handicap toilets. Those are higher up off of the floor. And he put grab bars in the tub/shower unit. And put in P traps in two of the sinks. I don't know yet about the leaking outside faucet. I made a note to call him about that tomorrow. I think tomorrow he is replacing the locks on all the exterior doors and putting the pocket doors on tracks on the floor. All this is little stuff, but it adds up. Then he starts on Cathy's suite. Friday, Cathy and I are going shopping for a microwave and a wall mounted electric heater. Maybe a Keurig coffee maker. I wish I could remember all the discussion about which ones were better. I like the ones that are more flexible and can make any size pot of coffee. Any suggestions?
Well those are the boring details on our house saga. Today, a neighbor walked by and chatted for a minute. She was walking her doberman. She said this is a very dog friendly neighborhood.
I'm glad to hear that some of our friends are getting better.:hugs:
Mary, no pop up ads for me either.
