EXERCISE Time, March 10 - March 30

Let's all get ourselves moving along as best as we can, perhaps the warmer weather will encourage us :shake:

We will be waltzing across Texas at some point, but I intend to post, unless the excitement keeps me away.

Hop to it, friends! ;)

Shalbrihil 03-10-2013 09:52 AM

I like your Texas Waltz. Do you remember The Tenn. Waltz sung by Patti Page? My folks had that song on a 78 and we loved to listen to it when I was a kid.

Have to kick up my heels while your away and do some muscle building. Have a fun trip and hug your little grandson for me.

modon69478 03-10-2013 01:06 PM

Doris, I think you'll really enjoy your visit to Texas at this time of year. The weather is usually in the 70s and maybe an occasional 80 or two. Safe Travels.

I had a good workout today - did 2 miles at the park, and spent time on the elliptical and recumbant bike at the gym. Yay, me!

Michele

mykneesareback 03-10-2013 03:43 PM

Good for you, Michele! Just spoke with our son awhile ago, he mentions that it could hit the 80's, so we are to dress accordingly. I have some sleeveless tops that I bought several yrs. ago, never worn, because it's always been too cool when we were there, but this time, I feel the need. :)
House hunting will keep us doing more outside, too.

Sharon, I love the Tennessee Waltz, too. I love all old country music.

Did 3 hrs. 25 min. on the bike, trying to sqeeze in all I can because it will be awhile before we get back on the bike. Walking will feel good, too, especially with a purpose. Running after grandson, I don't know, lol.

I should do some weights, but not crying if I don't have time.

Take care, folks!

Shalbrihil 03-10-2013 04:47 PM

We did a bunch of walking going to 3 different stores. Costco and Target were full walk arounds. I feel like I've had my exercise today. :D

Loretta V 03-10-2013 04:59 PM

Thanks Doris for the lead off again.

Guess I need to get a pet for my avitar. Oh, I do have my bird.

Did manage a walk Saturday. Day off today but will get back at it tomorrow.

Loretta V 03-11-2013 07:00 AM

Very dark on my early morning walk this am. No workout today.

mykneesareback 03-11-2013 05:35 PM

Yep, it's danged dark out there again, was just getting used to the early light, lol.

Did 3 hrs. 15 min. on the bike, and weights, felt like getting it all done this morning, all at once.

Off to finish this and that.........:sing:

Costco can sure help you "put on the miles", lol. Some people have more than one cart to push.

Tomorrow begins the sitting on the duff part of the trip. Will move about as best we can, dh has to do that, doctor's orders, and I carry his stuff, ha ha.

Watch yourselves, friends. :)

Shalbrihil 03-11-2013 09:38 PM

I mowed our backyard with a self push mower we have. It was good for upper body and legs.

SuSUN 03-12-2013 06:46 PM

WTG Sharon combining your work out with a chore. I like that.

- Walked the dog twice today only short walks.
- Did some thigh exercises in the kitchen.
- Went to dance class for an hour and worked up quite a perspiration. ;)

mykneesareback 03-12-2013 07:14 PM

That is great, Sharon, push mower yet, terrific exercise!

Susan, you are giving the doggie enjoyable time outdoors, and getting fresh air and exercise, too :high5: Did they "line dance" at that class?

Me, just arrived here awhile ago, did walk over to eat at the Denny's, lol. Trying to unwind.

Have a good night!

modon69478 03-12-2013 07:21 PM

Walked 1.5 miles at lunch today with a co-worker, then did some sit-ups on the ball when I got home.

Shalbrihil 03-12-2013 08:53 PM

Did some helping Dh with our garden project. The boxes look great.

SuSUN 03-13-2013 05:08 PM

No line dancing Doris it was learning to Jive lesson for 3 classes so hopefully I can remember all the steps after two more classes. Then, I would like to learn to Waltz.

Had a busy day and no time for formal exercise. I did walk the dog for his short walk so only got that movement in.
Staying awake to pick DS at the airport tonight as he returns from his 3 weeks in Florida.

Loretta V 03-15-2013 10:23 AM

I have been walking about an hour everyday.
Need to do exercise workout soon.

mykneesareback 03-15-2013 08:06 PM

We walked our legs out yesterday at the rim of the Grand Canyon, oh my, the stairs to get up to the rim, lol. It was just in the 70's, lovely weather. Took a 2.5 hr. train ride there and back, that part makes you sleepy, except for the yakking. Today we just drove to Albuquerque, did walk around and around the casino, but not enough. I have an issue with my ankle, feels like achilles heel sort of thing. :dunno: Had it before the canyon walking, stepped into a hole in our back yard.

Keep up your good exercises, dancing and movement ladies! :shake:

Loretta V 03-16-2013 09:28 AM

Long walk this am. Picked up cans and plastic bottles. People seem to want to keep on littering. Very windy here though we have warm temps and sunshine.

mykneesareback 03-16-2013 05:48 PM

Oh yeah Loretta, people everywhere seem to litter, doesn't matter where you are, nice of you to pick stuff up.

Walked around rest areas, but other than that, nada. I swear, New Mexico is the windiest place we have ever encountered, have never been there in the past 7 years when it wasn't windier than heck, I mean the kind of wind where you have to stand squarely to not get moved around by it.

Once we get with the kids, will finally not sit in the car for hours anymore, and it isn't hot yet, so can get out and do something, besides look at houses.
Susan, how many more jive lessons before you can waltze? Do they do polka? Just wondering is all......

Loretta V 03-18-2013 07:32 AM

Susun those dancing classes sound like they would be delightful. Enjoy that exercise for sure.

Went to the YMCA yesterday with DS and Adam to shoot hoops and then to walk on the track.

Nothing for today. Will pick it up tomorrow.

mykneesareback 03-18-2013 02:01 PM

Rode around with the real estate gal this morning, stopped at a Walgreens to buy an insert for my heel, so, will be heading to son's house after dh is done with his long nap, he is really exhausted. Me, I'm too anxious to nap.

Will finally be trying to walk more tomorrow, we have the day free, and will begin house looking in earnest on Wednesday.

Take care!

Shalbrihil 03-18-2013 02:22 PM

Took the fur kids to the lake park before doing some plant shopping. Farm Supply had a nice lemon tree and we got the rest of our garden planted. So it's time to put my feet up for the rest of the day.

Doris good luck on your house hunting Wednesday. I know it will be fun and exciting.

SuSUN 03-18-2013 05:07 PM

Walked my old guy around the block at least for a little movement and fresh air.
Did the Costco run with DS and then the putting things away.

Nada formal exercise.

mykneesareback 03-19-2013 06:39 AM

Sharon, nice to be able to walk by the lake, and then garden center shopping. My dh is going to be looking for a lemon tree, has always wanted one.

Susan, that doing the "Costco dance" seems to be a bit like formal exercise, in a way.

Finally able to walk a bit better, bought an orthotic for my shoe, but have to wear my low winter shoes, lucky it's not hot yet at all, have to wear a sweater.

Keep it going, friends. I do miss the bike already.

mykneesareback 03-20-2013 03:03 PM

Walked all over 6 different houses and yards today, tired out.
That's it for exercise. :)

mykneesareback 03-21-2013 11:47 AM

Walked the big Mall this morning, sat and had coffee, than walked again.
That's it for today. Will be taking our son to see the house this afternoon.

Have a good day! :shake:

Loretta V 03-21-2013 12:16 PM

Doris, hope looking at all of those houses does not get you:stars:
Enjoy. Try to keep it all straight.

Got my whole routine in this morning. Walk and workout.

mykneesareback 03-22-2013 02:53 PM

Walked the mall today, again, one end to the other, parked far from the entrance, not intentionally though. Had to wear the most comfortable shoes I have on hand, due to this plantar fasia......whatever that is that I have with my heel and ankle.

That's it for today.

mykneesareback 03-24-2013 06:55 PM

Let's see, we walked through some neighborhood houses that had "open house", and then walked all the way to the arena for an ice hockey game, climbed stairs with my sore foot, but did it several times because there was need to do that, lol. Saturday, March 23.

Sunday March 24
Didn't walk much except at the motel, carrying luggage. Mostly sat in the car for hours on end.

Tomorrow will likely be the same thing. Heading for Flagstaff, AZ.

It's so cold and windy, had to watch when you opened the car door that it didn't fly back at you.

Hope you guys are still moving about at home.

Loretta V 03-25-2013 08:08 AM

Have found a new place to walk near a resort. Nice long walk, 8000 steps. Did that on Friday.

Monday: tooo cold and windy to walk, so exercise workout upper and lower body and got some bike time in.

mykneesareback 03-25-2013 03:40 PM

That sounds good, Loretta, is the resort far from you?

Only walked up hill at the rest stops today, my Plantar Fassia.....whatever it's called is still bothering me, will call the doctor when we get home. It hurts a lot worse when walking uphill or up level than down or flat. Never had this before, bums me out, have too much to do, lol. Like everyone else with afflictions.
