FRIDAY'S Roll Call, March 8
Getting this going early, friends. Need to do some nightime chores so I can go to bed, folding laundry is one of them. :)

Shalbrihil 03-07-2013 09:12 PM

Thanks for the start off Doris. I'm sticking my toe in the door before I head for bed. See you all tomorrow. (I want that puppy)

Norfolk Mermaid 03-08-2013 04:04 AM

Good morning. Thanks for start out Doris.
So good to hear from Verleen. Very sad how you are limited in your activities. Hoping that "Molly" is very close to you on the reclyner or bed at all times.
ot my coffee and "Lady SuSun" has had her frest steamed collosial (less work for me) Shrimpies and is now gettin some fresh air. Aaunt Jane had her fresh Meow Mix and fresh air and has come back in as "Lady SuSun" stepped out. I ave up and bouht kitty litter as the neighbors reported seeing Janie crossing a road to et to a field that is most likely loaded with mice. That road is kinda busy so I am keeping her closer to home in the house for the afternoons. There is a long hair feral kitty Tom hanging about that I am using all my strength not to feed him.
No plans to speek of today but do need to shop for a birthday gift for Anita for tomorrow.
Takin off a layer of clothes as the furnace has warmed up the house or taken the chill off at least.
Time for my meds with 1/2 pain meds for my back and leg. Hurts like a tooth ache.
Have a sparklie day everyone.

tatehouse 03-08-2013 05:52 AM

Another day to stick my foot in the door. I am off to have a mani/pedi and run a few errands. I'll have Maggie a little while today but her mother gets off early. Oh, I am going to Atlanta tomorrow for a lunch trip with long time friends. If I'm not around for the weekend I'll catch up on Monday.

Glad to hear from Verleen.

Hope the rest are doing well, too.

BeachyWoman 03-08-2013 07:49 AM

Good Morning all, I'm popping in to check on everyone. I too think about you a lot Verleen, hope all our good vibes are helping. So many of us with problems, wish we could all wave a magic wand. Not much going on here on the nature coast. I think about all of you often, and sending good wishes, prayers to everyone who needs it. Glenda

Good morning all. It rained so heavily this morning it woke the tail-waggers and they went running around the house barking like crazy...took a while to calm them down, but went back to sleep for another couple of hours. The puppy was the instigator, I'm sure, as the doxie usually hides from loud noises.

Going to the dermotologist this morning, sure hope the canyon isn't flooded out...dumb wish as I know it is after that deluge. Well, maybe enough time for it to drain...we can hope can't we? The alternate route is more than twice as far.

Y'all have a great day today and if you're disappearing over the weekend, be safe. Gotta remember to reset the clocks tomorrow, too. BBL.

LoveMontana 03-08-2013 08:29 AM

Good morning everybody,

Just the typical Friday doing laundry, and other molly homemaker stuff.
Still windy and cold, but the weekend will be much, much better.

Might venture out and go have a look see over at the Mall.

SuSUN 03-08-2013 01:40 PM

Yeah! :jumpjoy::jumpjoy:
It was good to read Verleen's post last night. The house plans seem to be progressing. I think I would like a private suite at DD's next house. What a nuisance that ipad must be filling in the words before you can think of them. We All appreciate that you managed to type a post to let us know your status. Hang in there dear friend. Yes Linda says it, WE ALL Love You  on here.:hugs::heart::hugs:

Cheers Doris for our push off today!

Lainey, that is great that you can keep your kitty safe at home. Sounds like they had a real Cat Fancy Feast for breakie today.
What do you have in mind for Anita's gift?

Anne, I too went for a mani this aft and some waxing. It sure is a treat once in a while huh?

Mary, seems like you have a regular early furbaby awakening. I love that you are giving that pup a home along with your other furlings.
Hope your driving wasn't too wet today.

 Seems Spring has Sprung up here. We had a clear blue sky today with lots of sunshine to help thaw the snow banks. We had plus temps, we reached close to 40F for our high today, which is plus 3C. Just great. I'll take it.:clap:

Waving to All and hope to bbt...

Hello ladies....Been MIA for a while.

Jo and I took the trailer and spent a week at the RV park in San Dimas, Ca. Got home Wednesday just before this foul weather set in.

Had nice visit with kids, grandkids, and one great granddaughter. Man they do grow fast, especially when you don't see them that often.

Hi all-

So glad that Verleen was heard from!

I have been feeling sorry for myself. The chronic pain is getting to me - nothing but Tylenol allowed pre-surgery (which does virtually nothing for me) and, because the tumors are as large as they are, I get frequent nausea (2" below the sternum, like a 2nd term pregnancy). So my mantra is "I will feel better once surgery is over with." I am also trying to explain to dh that it might be best if he can postpone his next chemo date until I have been 1 week post surgery, as I will not be able to look after him if he has an adverse reaction.

Sorry, kids. This too shall pass. I will go on my 72 hours of no smoking and no drinking tomorrow, with the clean out glop on Monday. 'Joy to the squirrels,,,', if anyone remembers Pogo.

Okay, stiff upper lip and full steam ahead! I realize that many of you have ongoing health issues, so please forgive my rant. Thinking peaceful thoughts and sending healing thoughts to those that are in need. I did play some hymns on the piano today and it was soothing.

love to all,

curmudgeon Louise

P.S. We had 10" of snow this morning! tomorrow will be up to 47, so hopefully it will start to melt.

modon69478 03-08-2013 04:27 PM

Louise, My heart hurts for you guys and wish that I lived closer so I could help out. You might think of reaching out to your nearby church or speaking to someone at the chemo place, maybe someone can check in on you guys. God be with you both,

Mssarge 03-08-2013 04:53 PM

Louise, hugs:hugs: hugs you can curmudgeon all you want!!! Lord knows I'm a real grump if you got to know me. Hope your surgery goes well and your recovery is fast.

Hugs :hugs: to you Verleen, as well. I was thinking of you as I drove to the dermotologist today. The canyon was nice and dry and the last leg of the drive is through the stately ladies of Redlands. They have such beautiful Victorian ladies. I almost bought a Queen Anne there quite a few years ago and my heart is still with it, I think. Hope you're feeling better, too.

We've had rain showers most of the day...in fact on my drive back from the casino (yes I paid more reparations) it was raining like heck in Banning but Beaumont four miles had had snow going like crazy on the freeway....36 degrees, so it wasn't going to stick at that low an altitude. But, the snowbunnies will be elated again this weekend as the snow level is at 5000 feet and I guess they got a foot at least. Seventy degrees this weekend and clearing and dry...I love SoCal.

Hope you had a great day, I did as I arrived safely back home after driving with the crazies on the L.A. freeways...:jumpjoy:

LoveMontana 03-08-2013 04:59 PM

Oh Louise,:console: bit*ch, moan and complain all you want. We do understand.
Is there anyone close to you who can lend a hand? What about a Church group or Office of the Aging?

mykneesareback 03-08-2013 05:46 PM

Fear not, Louise, if you can't come on here and gripe, where can you go? We won't bite, lol. Several of us, including me, have done it often, it does help, too. Wish you had some people closer to you that could lend a hand, or an ear or shoulder, but I understand the nature of not wanting to have people around at times like these, too. :hugs:

Mary, at least you got your heart beating fast, going down to the La La land and moving along with their traffic. Supposedly it's all going to change over the weekend, so the ski resorts up here look forward to some kind of crowds starting today, hotels are filling up for a change.

Doug, I had forgotten that you had a great grandchild now, how neat to be able to see all of your children, large and small, again!!

Linda, did you go to the mall and have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny?? ;) ;)

I trying to start the Roll Call often, since I don't know if I will "remember" to do it while we are gone, lol. Too many details being tossed my way lately.

Have a good evening, friends. Hugs to Verleen, and anyone else not up to par.

LoveMontana 03-08-2013 05:57 PM

:hyst: No Easter bunny for me Doris.

You must be really stressed out about the trip and possible move, but don't worry about roll call. I'll try to start it but I'm sure others will help too.

Shalbrihil 03-08-2013 07:05 PM

Finally getting back in here. My goodness the wind is blowing outside right now! S'pose to be warmer tomorrow so looking forward to some sunshine.

Louise you go right a head and rant all you want to. This is the place to de stress.

Verleen it's so good to see your post. How exciting to be moving to your new place soon.

:console: going to the ones in need tonight. Nice to see you Doug. I bet your time with your family was loads of fun.

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 05:18 AM.
