Menus Feb 17 ~ Feb 23
We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
Sorry for the very early start. I will be going to Evansville this weekend to help with the bread, tonight is fish fry and tomorrow is mine. ![]() |

There is a really pretty bird that lives in the area where Gladys lives, too, has several colors............that one we could have a chance of seeing one day.
Do you have owls where you live in Toronto, Susan? |

Doris, I am much further North of Toronto. I haven't seem any owls around here.
They must be here as there are many barns and such around. I did see several when DS lived in Florida and a pair of bald Eagles nesting high up in the trees at a large house nearby. We used to walk the dog by there just to see the Eagles. |

Sunday's foods DD
Sounds like the weather is playing billy heck with the east coast, midwest, and now this one moving down the west coast will be playing William Hades for all this week....time to hunker down again, Doris, hope it's not too bad up your way.
Feeling good, but staying indoors mostly getting the family used to each other...looks like a stale-mate with the girls accepting the little boy...sigh! Decided the weight bounce was getting to me again, so have decided I'm only going to weigh in following a down day. I thought I was over feeling badly about the bounce...another sigh! no breakfast, just coffee, mainly black but one with hood's, had a couple teaspoons of cottage cheese around noon, then started a veggie plat about 1430...half a green pepper, a couple flowerets cauliflower, a couple of baby carrots and a small turnip. Finished it about 1600 S. cup of HC gumbo with two ounces chicken, melba toast 400 kcals

One wonders how birds know when they are "ready", we watch the woodpeckers fight, but never actually see them "do the deed".
Interesting!!! Thanks for the link, Linda. |

Boy Mary, you are lucky you are allowed to take pills with fruit juice, my dh mess himself up if he did that, but he used to like to drink OJ, years ago, with pills. Enjoy your meal tonight, and think good memories!
Monday's foods B: zucchini, mushrooms, green onions, 1/2 cup egg whites. Garlic, but no Flaxmeal, since I was going to be around people.............in closed quarters ![]() Just a few sips of coffee L: smoked salmon salad and black coffee at the restaurant, was not a good salad, way too much chopped Napa cabbage, and I complained about that and the salmon was not "right", so we didn't get charged for it. Snack: Skinny Mocha frappachino at Starbucks D: 2 cooked hot dogs w/yellow mustard and black coffee Evening snack: Baby Bel light cheese and black coffee later on.

Tuesday's foods DD
Hmmm, Doris, never thought of any problems with taking pills with juice. Makes me think and, of course, I'll check into it...thanks for the caveat.
Cloudy, drizzling and cold as this front moves in on us...snow level will be dropping to below 2000 feet, so the snowbunnies will be happy this weekend. Actually, feeling pretty good even with the bad weather...house is clean, quick run to the marketo (beautiful asparagus and peppers), dog seems to be settlin' in, Kindle full and charged and Tuesday's my TV night...what could better? and up day, possibly, but got a good un planned for dinner. No breakfast, coffee with hood's throughout the morn and a hb egg about 1130 before went to pick up N. decaf with a few filberts in the afternoon Peppers & sausage (chicken, hot Italian), in a light tomato sauce with shirataki noodles...first time with the noodles in an Italian sauce...diet soda, probably. under 500 kcals |

Thanks, checked it out and I knew about the deleterious effects of grapefruit and pharmaceutics and had heard of a similar response from orange and other citrus...forgot about it for a bit. I'm very careful about grapefruit and only eat or drink 'em after several hours after or before. That's one of the reasons I usually drink crystal light...and of course, no carbs.
