Happy Valentine's Day to the gang here.
We probably go out to eat or get take out(I like that better).

Norfolk Mermaid 02-14-2013 06:43 AM

My parents met on this day many, many years ago. (my step day since I was 3 or 4 yrs old). Sure do miss them and but wondering if too much.
We alone types just consider it another day- I did not even put out the cute sale stuff from last year that I picked up. Course- I do see chocolate being picked up today or tomorrow when the price plummets.
Hair and library day today so best et a crackin.

Happy Valentine's Day to all...alone or not I think you are all SWEETHEARTS

Been a busy week. Maggie started a new school this week. An opening for a waiting list kid came up and DD felt it was a good thing for her to change. She will have to go to this school next year and the church school was costing an arm and a leg that DD could use elsewhere. This is a public school. She was worn out on her first day. Went to bed at 7:30. I've been joining her for lunch so she will see a familiar face. The teacher encouraged that for the first few days...so I get public school lunches. yuck. But it's ok. She seems to love it. Quite an adjustment, though.

I'll catch up with the posts later today.
Hugs to you all,

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Nothing special planned here, but like Gladys, hoping for take out.:D

mykneesareback 02-14-2013 09:41 AM

Wishing a good day for ALL of you, or us here, friends for a long time, when you think of it.........

We are having pulled pork that I bought at Costco, need to stay in today anyway, medical reasons.

Take care.

Happy Valentine's Day to all-

One of Bob's band members sent us a dinner for two - lobster pot pie, crab with 4 cheeses and chocolate "sin" cake. What a treat! I'll still have to cook it, but no prep involved. Yippee!

Bob has a bone marrow test tomorrow, checking for multiple myeloma. If he does have it, I'm just hoping that the chemo for the colon cancer can do double duty.

Reading and knitting and doing laundry today.

Have a lovely day everyone.

mykneesareback 02-14-2013 10:44 AM

Louise, I'm so glad you and Bob will have a wonderful meal treat on Valentine's Day, together! Wishing Bob's test tomorrow to go smoothly and not waiting around, hugs to you both. Frustrating time, sorry you guys need to go through all of it, but stick together and help each other through it is all I can say. Is there anyone medically that lets you just "talk"?? That can be helpful, dh and I are still doing that now, in fact. :console:

Hey y'all...Happy Valentine's Day and best wishes for all. Reminded of Valentines past...in Japan, the women give the men chocolate. My tech's were surprised when they came in an found chocolate hearts on their stations....I never did tell them from whence came the chocolate.

I'm not getting "woozy" anymore from the new glasses and I can tell my vision is better. But the left eye is the dominant one and is clearer so the new prescription is working there...the right eye is still a bit fuzzy, but clearer but I still think it made further changes after the checkup...sigh! See what the doc says next week.

I may attempt the drive through the canyon to go to the casino...the poker tables are calling and the slots, oh my!

Have a great day folks and enjoy your valentine...

Well it's sunny and warm here in San Diego. We are waiting for the shuttle to the zoo.

Louise, I hope you and Bob have the very best ever Valentine's day.

Liblady 02-14-2013 11:26 AM

Louise, how nice of the band member. I know you two will enjoy it. Here's thinking of you and Bob tomorrow. :hugs:

A rainy, coolish day here, thanks Gladys, we sure do need it. The "valentine" golfers aren't very happy, but even they agree we need it.

We're going to a Valentine Dance at our Clubhouse. No food, bring your own drinks and snacks. We'll have a frozen dinner before we go. We go out to eat enough without adding tonight on there.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.:heart::heart:

:heart::heart::heart:HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ALL:heart::heart::heart:

Too bad the smilies don't have any flowers.:love::love:

Wishing All a pleasant day.

I just got up about 20 min ago. I am sleeping more and more, it seems. And after I get up, I fall asleep in the chair. I've been telling my family that I think I have mono.

Louise, I have you and Bob in my thoughts frequently. How are your pets doing? That was very nice of Bob's band member to send you those dinners.

Mary, what good news that you are adjusting to your new glasses.

I don't post often because it requires more breathing than I'm capable of. I don't think the nebulizer is helping.

Happy Valentine's Day! With Rich's help, I'm making dinner today --- a pork roast with mashed potatoes and gravey. And smashed and brown sugared sweet potatoes and frozen baby peas. Maybe a salad if Cathy feels like making one. Sounds like too much food. Yesterday I was so hungry and when the pizza and wings got here, I couldn't eat at all.

I'm about to fall asleep and need to get to my chair. Have a good day, no matter what you are doing. Read a good book, have a glass of wine or light a candle --- whatever you like.

Hi everyone.....happy valentine's day from me, too. Somehow, after the first few years, we never really celebrated except for a card to me. It was valentine's day for us every day.
Louise, I am thinking of you and your dh every day. Please remember that, as everyone else on here, we are wishing you both the very best results. Enjoy the wonderful meal the band mate sent!
That's all I've got right now!

Loretta V 02-14-2013 02:05 PM

 to all of my low carb friends. Hope your having a great day.

John has gone on a cattle drive today, taking his cows to market. His son is with him for a few days. We had a nice celebration the other day.

We have a beautiful day with tons of sunshine and warmer temps.

Enjoy your day folks how ever it works out for you.

DS text to say he is loving  it in New York.
I took him to the airport this morning. He was there by early afternoon as his flight from here was at 11am
He will be back home on Sunday evening and then off to Florida for 3 weeks vacation on the Wednesday. I have butterflies (for nothing) just thinking about being alone. I know it is coming and I just have to get used to it.

Loretta, sounds like you have a great cowboy there. Hope the cattle drive goes smoothly for John and his son. Visions of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood...;)

Yes, it is a bitter sweet day for a few of us. Memories are always good huh?:heart:

Have a pleasant evening All. I am off to babysit DGD while they go out for a romantic dinner. Wish me luck driving home in the dark.:dunno:

Hi Everybody,

Just getting home and wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. It was a hectic day today and way too many sweets at work - I must have had 3 or 4 cookies and a small handful of chocolate covered peanuts.

Oh well...

Sweet dreams,

mykneesareback 02-14-2013 07:00 PM

Don't worry, Michele, it will all come out in the "wash", so to speak, and back to the usual droning for most of us tomorrow. ;)

Some of the ice is finally melting, hard to believe you can walk without special shoes/boots on.

Not enough time to get alot done today, don't know where the time goes, but there is less and less every day to get chores done.

Stay safe, if you are out and about, and allow yourself to enjoy something.

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 06:27 AM.
