MONDAY' Roll Call, Feb. 11
1 Attachment(s)
We are off to dh's skin surgery early Monday morning, down in the valley where it's going to be 62 degrees, yippee!!! See you all by evening........
Take care of yourselves, especially if you must leave the house! |
Doris, thanks for starting us off.
Mary, hoping for a speedy recovery. Verleen, DH isn't evil, like your ex, just passive aggressive. Now he is so contrite, he looks like a basset hound. I think except for a couple of last minute items, like pills, we are packed and ready to go. I even started some old seeds today.....hard to order new ones without the catalogue. Tomorrow neighbor is coming by for review of where to water, and then i do laundry and house cleaning. I always do a major cleaning before a vacation because I LOVE coming home to a clean house. Then we will see about fostering a kitty or two for deployed military at the base here. The box with Pandora's ashes I sleep with just doesn't snuggle and purr, but I just do not want another heartbreak. Our local shelter gets a lot of dogs and cats from the navy base, and I think I could handle being a substitute mom for a kitty whose person is fighting for our country. That way I get to cuddle, and a soldier or sailor knows their fur baby will be waiting when he or she returns from deployment. Win....win...I think. |
It's 64 and not raining,guess that is a plus.Usual chores today,no plans,blank life.lol
Something will show up,it always does. Gosh I will be scared to death if any ones mentions eye surgery to me,how long can you put off cataract surgery.Very grateful Shawna(dgd#2) didn't have trouble with hers, now she can see well,no glasses after 30 years of coke bottle lens.Best money we ever spent. BBL |
What a treat last night! TWO hours of Downton Abbey......but next week is this year's finale. Boo, hiss. I can see lots of changes coming up.

Good morning,
What a great thing, Babette. Fostering for the military. That is a wonderful idea. I lose my heart very quickly to pets so it would be a heartbreak to give them back for me. But I think your heart is in the right place. Good for you. Raining today. Rained all night and will all day. Going to be a buggy spring I can feel it in my bones!! Have a wonderful Monday Anne |
Have a good day everyone. We are off to Albany.
|
Hey y'all....Is tomorrow Fat Tuesday? Must be, as Ash Wednesday is the first one after the lunar new year, so I guess Carnival is going on somewhere and Mardi Gras is going on somewhere else. That means Spring is not too far away..so much for this nasty Winter, what will Aestora bring?
My congrats, Babette, too, on the babysitting of deployed military pets, and I know it will bring a lot of happiness to you and to others. Enjoy your holiday and come back refreshed and ready to go. Best wishes for Doris and her guy and enjoy the flatlands...hope you find something good to do, too. To the rest of the folks, enjoy your day and I hope good things come your way. |
Quickie check in. Dreary Monday counts as a double whammy for me.
Beete, they have "foster" Mommie cats till the kits are weened but like Anne- how could I let my babies go then. Oh, but I do love them when they are kittens. bbl |
More Rain.

Good Monday All,:)
Monday, Monday can't trust that day...:sing: Thank You Doris for our start off. Safe travels and enjoy the warmer temps. Babette, What a terrific idea I think that will be a Win Win situation. A silver lining for you and others for sure  You will be ready for your cruise very soon. Enjoy your journey and forget your woes; you deserve a break. Gladys, I would love to have that eye surgery, but mine is due to age. Presbyopia, so not sure how much they can help with that. just replacing the lens like cataract surgery I believe. I am glad that she can enjoy the freedom from glasses and enjoy perfect sight now. Anne, hope you don't grow webbed feet down there. At least you don't have to shovel the rain.;) Julie, glad to hear you enjoyed the show last night. We have it recorded so hopefully I can watch it with DS tonight.:D Linda, Enjoy Albany hope the roads are cleared by now. Mary, You are so right Fat Tuesday, followed by Lent. I am not as strong as I used to be following the church calendar. I will give something up for Lent and also give something more. Trying to be a Blessing to someone each day works for me. Waving to All and hope to bbl... |
Still raining.
|
Sunny and in the 80's here!
|
Oh Julie, I want to fly back. I will have to wait a while now as DS is leaving for NYC on Thursday Valentine's Day for the weekend. Then he leaves for Ft. Lauderdale on the 20th until March 13th. So I have no dog sitter now till he returns. I guess I have had it good two trips this Winter. I may squeeze another one either at the end of March or in April.
Gladys, keep high and dry maybe you could pass some time at the Casino. Waving to All and enjoy your day. |
WOW, it has been a long, lon time but am enjoyin a Smearnoff spicy bloody mary with my tuna on toast for supper.

Hi all-
Got my MRI results back. There is cancer in addition to fibroids. Some appears to have spread within the peritoneum. I am trying to stay positive but this has hit me hard. The gynecological oncologist recommended no longer takes our insurance, so i am looking at our network to see who does. Will likely have the surgery at one of the big NYC hospitals. They say that G-d doesn't give us what we cannot handle. I am trying to be strong. Please offer up a prayer, healing thought, whatever your bent. With grateful thanks, -Louise |
Oh Louise, you and Bob have certainly hit the jackpot of horrors. Please know that I am sending whatever positive thoughts I can muster your way...
|
So sorry to hear your news, Louise, I will definitely be sending a prayer for you and your husband this evening.
Michele |
Yes Louise, I too am sending up prayers and hugs to you and Bob and will keep doing that. I hope you find a great doctor that is with your insurance plan soon, too..............:console:
