SATURDAY Roll Call, Feb. 9

I don't like the way this month seems to be rolling by, we have too many appts. and things to do, and not enough time to focus on them, which usually means trouble. Hoping the friends under stormy, snowy skies are doing ok.

Wishing those having illness issues are getting better.

Begete, do you have friends doing some plant watering indoors for you, while you are gone?

Hi Doris and all who follow,

One of our neighbors will chech halfway thru. I use giant kitty litter pans, put the plants in and fill about halfway up with water. With heat turned down, water usually lasts 3 weeks to a month.

Lainey, so glad it was say on you.

Just came home from breakfast at one of the clubhouses. Driving there, we (friend and I) passed about 30 golf carts coming from there. Seems our fire dept. auxiliary opened early today to accommodate the golfers who are having a big tournament . Seventy-eight early golfers showed up to eat. It was still crowded with folks coming and going. You can't go wrong with juice, pancakes, sausage, and coffee for $3.00. Between last night's spaghetti dinner and the breakfast, I am FULL. Next will be Monday night at Outback Steakhouse.
Going up to the 70's today. No snow to shovel!

We went out to dinner last night. DD treated me and DGS met us there. So it was the whole family for dinner. Maggie chose her own meal and (wonder of wonders) ate it. She had never had a burrito before but that is what she said she wanted. Child knows her own mind. Too well at times...stubborn!!

Ok, the weekend is here. I have some Downton Abby to catch up on and a movie. A masterpiece, too. Jim Chee books by Tony Hillerman was a series a few years back on Masterpiece. The story is good the scenery is beautiful. The acting is adequate...but this one is the last of the series. I'm looking forward to it.

Nothing else planned. Stay warm everyone...

It's frosty here this morning. Our wood deck is slippery and the grass is all white. I'm so glad we have our new wall heater. It's toasty inside.

Good morning all...sunny and in the 50's today. So glad the weather is past us but hope it doesn't bring too bad weather to you all.

I am so frustrated in that the eyeglasses didn't come in this week...sigh! I guess it's really on me because I really expected two weeks to be set in stone....double sigh! Last time I never got the glasses from the VA and bought mine at the store. Should have done so this time and I'd have some now. So tired of having shirty vision...drives me crazy when I'm ready and when I went to the movie with nephew, t'was the pits....triple sigh! Sorry for the rant...does anyone know if this is the week the postal department stops delivery on Saturday? I'll still check the box today anyway.

POST OFFICE will halt mail on saturdays startin in AUGUST 2013. I think snail mail will go as my eneration is oin and gone.
Had a big grits and 2 egg breaky. Just had a hot choc. as the house has a chill hangin on.
Pretty day outside but I do not feel like oing outside. Missed the memorial for my Jr. High school chum. She was 71 with Altizimers and had been in a nursing home but I did not know that. When our peers start to o it is quite sobering or sure is for me at any rate.

Just a quick run in. Lots of stuff going on around here, but at least our maintenance guys worked last night and plowed the streets and driveways.
Heard on the radio that t here were still about 400,000 people without power from this storm.

Still waiting to hear from my youngest son, David. He called me from his bus on I 81 and said he might be stranded in Scranton. not a fun place to get stuck, that's for sure.

BBL. Gotta check on the pork roast.

HOpe everyone is warm and safe at home with electricity. When I think of all the things this winter has brought to the NE, I get chills...We are very comfy here with temps in the mid seventies. Course I complain about being dry...can't be happy with the status quo.
Lainey, I know the feeling...I've lost quite a few of my cousins who are younger, friends who lived very healthy life styles...and here I am. Not a model of anything...tis sobering for sure. I keep saying tomorrow I am going back to the gym, and eating healthy and not drinking my margaritas...LOL Well like they say tomorrow is sure taking a long time getting here. Hope everyone has a perfect Sunday...Life is good...Glenda

Cathy picked out about 20 wallpapers to ponder. That's it. All I can stand being on this stringboard words iPad.

Thank YOU Doris for our start off. I love the white rose and pearls just my favs.

Just rolling in so to speak. I have had a busy day. WE had a milder day up here minus -8C with lots of sunshine and a beautiful clear blue sky. After the snow fall yesterday, all was clear today the ploughs had been working all night.
The snow banks are getting high though. It will drop to minus -20C tonight that is without the windchill so another cold night for the critters.

I met with the ladies from the Hospice group this morning, we chatted at coffee they had breakfast. I didn't trying hard to stick with my plan and whew I did it. Then my GF that you met Ginny, Julie and Glenda, we went to the Mall browsing. I picked up a few items and then I did a few groceries.

Back on my PC. What I typed above, I actually didn't type. iPad decided for me what I wanted to say. I HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE all Apple products. I celebrate the death of Steve Jobs. I need to stay away from that dam machine - it turns me into an awful person.

I am all alone tonight. Both Cathy and Rich are working. I'm trying to find something to eat. No leftovers in the fridge. Since I fell on my head and got that concussion, I can't eat peanut butter. Peanut butter sandwiches were an old standby for me.

Louise, I hope you and Bob are doing well tonight......and have power.

Doris, this is a crazy month for us too.
