SATURDAY Roll Call, Feb. 2
1 Attachment(s)
I suppose it's Ground Hog Day, hadn't thought about it until someone mentioned it on the news.

Sending hugs and prayers to Begete :console:

Also keeping in mind those of us on here having depression issues, and health concerns not really mentioned

See you in the morning..........

Hi everyone,

As of 9 pm, Pandora is still with me. Will not eat or drink, but lying in bed with me watching TV and purring.

I think I will skip the seminar we are signed up for. It's all day tomorrow. I do not want to leave her. We cancelled out dinner plans tonight. I don't even want to be around me, and I think our hostess understood.

Good Morning All,

Wishing Pandora a peaceful journey. I understand your pain right now, Babette.

I've got the laundry going and have a busy day planned with lots of errands, from one end of town to the other. Hope to enjoy a Netflix in the evening. Maybe even make some LC muffins.

Hope Susan is having a wonderful time in Florida.

Take care of yourselves,

Good morning,

Going to do nothing but change linens today. Hopefully just relax and enjoy my day.

Pandora is in my thoughts as are you and your DH, Babette. It is hard to let go but a blessing for Pandora.

Should warm up the next few days.
Have a good one.

Good morning from chilly (32F) north central Florida. The sun is shining brightly.
Nothing of interest happening here. Was going to change the sheets but absent mindedly made the bed...lol. So, I guess it's just shower and brunch.
Since I had my cleaning lady here, the car washed and oil changed, my next cleaning frenzy is having the outside of the house power washed on Tuesday. Hmmm, then what?
Only the shadow knows. I guess next month will be 'feed and weed' the lawn. That means feeding the weeds! Plans for a trip in April are on hold for now for various reasons so will have to see how that works out.
My thoughts are with you, Babette. Been there, done that, too.

Cold FL morning, even had a little heat on. Bright sunshine tho' and temperatures are rising.

Arlo Guthrie was great last night. He had 5 guitars with him that he used intermittently with the piano, one of the guitars was a 12 string which DH was all excited over.

Keeping up with our "social engagements" we're going tonight to hear my friend sing in the play, Always, Patsy Cline. We're going with 3 others and out to dinner first. I worked with this friend for the FL Dept of Children & Families for a couple of years. Hard to believe how our lives have changed. (we dealt with "meth" moms, sex abusers and the children they bore) Geesh!

Groundhog Day was a biggie when I taught school, now, not so much.

Begete, I think Doug said it the best.............it's time, Pandora knows.
Wishing you peace and calm.

I called the vet and he should be here soon to put my baby to sleep. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but she has not eaten or drank or used her litter since Wednesday. Hard to believe I literally grabbed her out of the arms of a vet tech who was about to put her down 17 years ago as she was so seriously injured and had been seized from her former owners because of animal abuse. She was about 3 years old then, but weighed under 3 pounds. Our vet didn't think she would last a year and now 17 years later I am putting her down.
I think Linda and Doug both met my girl and know how beautiful she is. I am broken hearted.

:hugs: This is a hard one. Just know we are all here for you!

:console: :hugs: I know how difficult it is for you, Begete, and my heart goes out to you. Remember the good times and the lovely friend she was. We've been there and know what you're going through and how difficult it is for you.

Pandora is gone

Hi Ladies,

I am home so back to my routine. My flight was delayed last night, landing at 2:15am. Dear Son was waiting for me at the airport. It was minus -17 on landing but the car was nice and warm. We were home in no time as there was not much traffic at that hour of the morning. I went to bed around 4am but I feel okay today. I have work tomorrow so that will be a challenge. I plan to just rest up today.

I have so much to catch up on your posts. Glenda and I managed to meet up but I couldn't manage to meet up with Ginny and Julie again.

DGF wanted to visit several places. We went to Clearwater, Treasure Island, Tarpon Springs, Gulfport, the time flew by so quickly. The weather was so good with lots of sunshine on our off days we sat out by the clubhouse at the pool. A couple of mornings we did the water aerobics with a group of ladies. The house that she rented for the 2 months was on a golf course gated community. She golfs and I don't, so she didn't play while I was visiting.

Babette, so sorry you are on this journey with dear Pandora. I certainly feel that pain of transition of parting. As Ginny said from Doug...It's time and Pandora knows. She has had a long, good life with You and I am sure she has been grateful to have had a good owner.

Thank YOU Doris for our start. Yes, I too had forgotten it was Ground Hog day.

Mary, I just love your quotes in your signature, very profound.
How are your eyes now? I am considering getting new lenses inserted at the laser clinic. My glasses drive me crazy always on my face.

Michele, Thanks for the well wishes for my trip to Florida but I am back to snow and cold up here. I thoroughly enjoyed the break though.

Julie and Ginny, so sorry we didn't manage to meet up this time, next time for sure.

I had better doing some unpacking and laundry...

So sorry that Pandora has left you. What a wonderful life you gave her for those 17 years.

Shalbrihil 02-02-2013 12:58 PM

Welcome home Susan we missed you. So glad you had a grand time and lots of restful fun.

Norfolk Mermaid 02-02-2013 12:58 PM

Rest in peace beautiful Pandora.
Remember Begete and John that "G*d stays very close to the broken hearted".

Verleen 02-02-2013 01:05 PM

:hugs: Babette, many hugs for you. I have gone down this same path far too many times. Pandora had many good years with you. I am with you in spirit.

Welcome home Susan.

weezie 02-02-2013 05:08 PM

So sorry to hear about Pandora, Begette. Glad she was able to bless you for so many years.

DH gets his port installed for chemo on Tuesday, then will start every 2 weeks beginning the week after next.

I'm supposed to have an MRI on Monday, providing my COBRA (insurance extension) kicks back in - predicated on receipt of payment. Otherwise, will postpone a few days. My "pet rocks" aka fibroids, have grown post-menopause. Not a good sign, but the MRI will determine if there is anything malignant there. Let's hope not. Surgery on the horizon for sure (the whole shebang of fibroids is as large as a 22-24 week pregnancy).

Deep breath. We will get through this.

love to all,

BeachyWoman 02-02-2013 06:11 PM

Susan, I'm glad you made it home...even tho I know you are a tad cooler than here.
It was a sad day here also. We had to put down DD's cat, she had a very good 15 years also, was abandoned as a kitten and DD fed her with a bottle for weeks. Begate, I'm so sorry. Its so hard to lose them. Hope everyone is feeling good and keeping warm. Glenda
