Here I am after 2 a.m. Been up for an hour. Maybe I used up my sleeping hours the past couple of days but I will try to get back to sleep. Maybe count some sheep...lol

Good morning,

Had a good day yesterday. DGS came over to pick up a dead limb and the mess that left in the front yard. He wanted Spaghetti and meatballs for lunch...I was kind of expecting bacon and eggs but I fixed him what he wanted. I had both my local grands at the table and I was a happy Nanny!

Maggie played outside while Zach cleaned the limb. She ran like the wind...it is cooler today so no outside play I imagine today.

Hang tough everyone.

Good morning to all and later too.

Just noticed my "Title" was a old one that went up by mistake yesterday- fall?
Anyhew- Julie, my flesh is too weak... buy a pack and I'll smoke a pack.
Thank you Mary for the positive imput- that big glass of water is a great idea as winter water intake is not that good for me. Big thanks for the good wishes as well. New Years Day 2013 morning I smoked my very last Marlboro Light Menthol 100 and so I am into to the quit just about long enough now to NOT give it up at this point for anything. (but want to- deed I do!)
Climbing Mt. Washmore today for sure and trying to not change clothes all the time as the laundry piles up way too fast.
Didn't get over to Anita's yesterday so will try today for sure. She told me the other day that before her last surgery in Nov. she was ready to just give up and was asking the L*rd to go ahead and take her during surgery. That makes me worry.
Anne, you are such a grand "GrandMommy"!
My very best wishes to Louise & Bob, Verleen & family and big hopes for that house to become a "done deal" and of course all who are ailing or just needing some good ole wishes.

Lainey - I quit 4 years ago after having smoked a pack a day for over 40 years. The thing I found very helpful is a cinnamon stick. They are close to the size and shape of a cigarette. So when I would get in the car, after I ate or got on the phone I would pick one up and hold it and suck on it. Sounds strange but it really did help. Good Luck

Yes, some people use actual suckers, they make sugar free ones, too, for some, that helps a bit.

It's 12 degrees here, just came back from the high school breakfast, and at least it was warm in that Cafe. We spoke of the latest people that fell on ice and were not found, froze, and it's very scary to we seniors, need to constantly keep an eye out for one another.

On to the exercise bike.

Sending good thoughts and wishes, hang in there.

Thanks Cathy and Doris...

I got cinnimon sticks in the kitchen but they are pretty old but will try them and pick up new ones next market day.
Doris, seems like every year or so in N.Y. they would dig people out dead at the airports... don't miss hearing stuff like that here in Virginny.
On my way over to Anitas for a spell- hope she is home.

Good morning all...another day with nuttin' planned and will try to stay out of trouble. Our last sunny day before a new front edges into the area tomorrow...at least that's what the metro folks are saying. I understand it's really chilling in the midwest and hitting the east coast, too...that lake effect sounds like it's going crazy too. Stay warm folks and stay off the thin ice; well, if you're staying warm, your staying off the ice.

Have a happy...

Wind is blowing here like crazy and it's darn chilly. Lower temperatures coming tonight.
We were going to play some golf but it's definitely not a good day for that.

We thought since no golf we'd try to see Lincoln but it doesn't start till 3pm and we're going up to the Tavern tonight with a friend at 5pm for the Prime Rib special, :yummy: so we think we'll try to see Lincoln later on in the week.

Had long pants on to do the birds but changed to shorts after I came in.Beautiful sunny day out.Temps must be in the 60's.
Didn't sleep enough last night so guess a nap is in order,I feel very lucky that I have the ability to sleep when the need is there.
Made a big soup yesterday so DH is happy and he gets all his veggie in.I will put some up for later, that's about all we freeze now.
I had a friend tell me years ago I should smoke to keep my weight down,I'm still fat, smoke free and she has passed on.I didn't think changing bad habits was the answer.

I knew you are a smart lady- now I know you always were!! Cannot want what you never had... mostly- I BELIEVE that.

BeachyWoman 01-22-2013 02:21 PM

For some strange reason, I haven't been able to post...so I'm trying again. I am hoping to hear from SuSun soon, really looking forward to meeting her. I finally make it home today, just in time to get fragile plants in. Hope everyone is enjoying life and staying warm. Glenda

72 today, supposed to hit 75 tomorrow. Definitely a heat wave.:D

Ginny, Thought of ya'll. Went out for lunch with the neighbors today. I had liver and onions, Jo had chicken fried steak.:D

LoveMontana 01-22-2013 05:37 PM

Lainey, you can do it. You did it before and stayed quit for a good many years. Get back in that on line group.:hugs:

Woke to 7 degrees today with a minus 11 wind chill. It's going to be like that all week.

modon69478 01-22-2013 05:45 PM

Mary, How's your vision these days? Are you able to get around on your own now? Hopefully, you'll find your groove again soon. You were so active before the surgery. I enjoyed hearing about your adventures. I know it's been so hard on you to be home so much. I know you're trying hard to not let the down days get to you. Stay Strong!

Michele

OMG Linda- that is so very cold! We may get snow I heard today but did not listen to the whole report. Also single digits OR teens with single digits wind chills. Anyhow it sure does not last more than a few days so It is easy to tuff out.
Yep, I am too sleepy now but will go back to my group from 13 yrs ago tomorrow.
Thanks for caring everyone. It is for sure keeping me on the path.
Night, nighter.

Hey, Michele, checking the board before I go to bed with my crazy device...should be fun. I go back to the eye doc tomorrow, Wednesday, and sure hoping for a 'script for new glasses. My eye has stabilized, I think, at least enough for glasses which should help a lot. The vision is, of course, blurry with the old 'script but if it gets too bad, I just squinch the right eye closed as the left one is clear. I don't think I'll even consider surgery on the left eye at this time no matter what the doc sez. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

thanks again, type ya tomorrow. (or later today in your time zone)
