Here I am, having survived the holiday season. Back to the usual routine.
So far my exciting life includes a shower, pick up a rx, drop off a check, and do a bit of grocery shopping at WM.
I intend to be back later, so ta-ta for now.
Evon, was it you who asked if I am a native Floridian. Does 26 years of living here qualify? And, owning a property since 1981 help? Just kidding. Where are you?

Thanks for the start off, Michelle.

Julie, your agenda for today sounds very much like mine, except my grocery shopping will be done at Wegman's.

Ugh. Starting off the new year with a UTI, which probably means I've got too much sugar in my system. When I was doing LC faithfully I didn't have a bladder or sinus infection for 18 months.
Cold here this morning, only 22°, but at least it's sunny!

Hope everyone has a great day, the week is already halfway over!

Hi folks, beautiful but cold day here in Ky. In the 20s this am, but no wind and bright sunshine.

Going to dismantle my little tree and decorations.

Julie, it was probably me. I had plans to move to Florida a few years ago, but just could not leave home. Guess I am not that old yet. I live in NC about 30 minutes from Raleigh. That is where I moved from. But grew up on the coast. My brother in law lives in Orlando. After my husband and his wife died, he asked me to marry him and I thought about it a few years. So 3 years later, told him I would not. I think it would be great to live in Florida, but I think it is greater to live near my kids(2) and grandkids (3). Hope you got your running around done.

Heh, heh, girls, 74 degrees already with abundant sunshine, DH is playing golf in his usual Wednesday tournament. We drove around yesterday in the golf cart thru the Park and actually saw 2 young alligators, plus the usual Herons/Egrets, etc.

Doris, I too remember having to go back to work after the New Year Holiday. I was always wishing for snow then because Roanoke closed schools at the "drop of a snowflake" we had so very many mtn. roads for school buses to attempt, it was much wiser to just close schools.

It's kind of nice to have all the decorations down and put away and get back to a "routine."

Good morning everyone

Saw Les Miz last night. Saw the stage show about 20 years ago. If you loved the stage show, you may not like the film as much as it is very much an actors film with some amazing performances, but the musical numbers are not as "big" as they were on the stage.

Mary, Mary: our big question. DH has a 401k and a traditional IRA. They are held at different institutions. Must he take some money out of each account? or can he take the entire RMD (adding the Dec 31 balance together on which to base that amount) out of one of the accounts and nothing from the other? Thank you for your advice.

Off to mammogram this morning.

Have a good one.

Good morning to some and G'day to the rest...warming up here in the southland but windy. A new high is sliding down and bring the winds with it...we should be warming up into the 70's this week after our cold snap...actually it's still cold, for us, at nights, down into the 30's so we know it's winter.

I was one of the those folks that worked through the holidays and usually on the holiday itself...in the 24/7 business and someone had to do it, so it might as well be me...not complaining, mind you, I enjoyed giving the days off to those who had children or family with whom to celebrate.

nothing planned for my day...so that means I'll get into trouble in some way...hope you all have a good day and will type ya later.

Good afternoon...

I have the double M's this morning...Maggie and Migraine. So I'm not too peppy today.

My house alarm went off last night. The door to my sunroom was not secure. Closed enough to set the alarm but swung open during the night. I just ran downstairs to cut off the alarm...not even thinking there might be a break in! Guess I'd better rethink that response. The alarm people had updated their system and my phone number had gotten in wrong. So they called DD and scared HER to pieces before they called me to see if I was ok. Never did go back to sleep.

Well, I'll be back soon....going to lie down while Maggie is sleeping..

Well my ped says 2561 steps and that wasn't with a walk with the dogs. So I'll be having that tomorrow and we will see what I do or I should say how I do then. Taking baby steps is what keeps me moving but not hurting. Have a nice evening. See you tomorrow.

Thanks Michele for our start up. Hope you had a good day at work.

It has been a bitterly cold day up here at minus 27C with the cold wind chill. I was well wrapped up when I went out and I was in the car. I went to renew my licence plate stickers as it was my birthday Dec 24th so I paid for two years so I am good now until 2014

I made a turkey curry for supper DS has just devoured two plates with buttered Nan.
He was working late tonight.

Wishing All a good evening and a restful sleep with no security alarms going off for Anne.

Talk to you All tomorrow hopefully...
