waving back at ya Doris and to all who follow. This cooler weather is heavenly and I am enjoying it. The temp last night was down to the 50s. I have a dinner to attend today. It is at church, of course, an Appreciation Dinner. Father Babu will be leaving for India Tuesday. It is the 1 year anniversary of his dad's death on the 30th. He says they have a big get together and meal to celebrate his life on the first anniversary of the death. Custom. |

Hi to all as well.
Cooler day today so out to the weeds before the storms come in this afternoon. They never showed yesterday or last night so we'll see.
I am reading the last Mary Higgins Clark hard cover that my neighbor gave me about 8 of them in a big mixed bag of books she brought quite a while ago. Good to be back reading as I had stopped before the catarac surgeries. I want to get lots more of those Liesha Kelly "christian" (they are totally not religious books and I was amazed to find out that they are considered to be) books but it will have to be the library as money is just keeping to get thighter and tighter. Hope everyone has a good Sunday and gets to see and enjoy family members. I never ever feel alone but lately I have... guess it is due to my last visit to my daughters when I did not feel very loved by her and her husband. Oh Well, such is life I think. bbl

Cool day here--feels good another quiet day planned here. I may make some meals ahead today for next week and maybe a cheesecake if I have enough cream cheese. Drinking my coffee in my recliner Rosie is sleeping between my feet. Lots to do but not much energy. BBL Have a good day

Good morning all.
I am enjoying my second cup of coffee and looked down and had an ant crawling on me. So I guess I will take the slip cover off the recliner and wash it and vacuum it really good and call the bugman tomorrow. Oy vey...always something to wreck a do nothing day! Lainey, I love you! All of you in fact. Anne |

Good morning all...cooling off here, too. It's supposed to drop below 100 degrees...maybe 98 or 99, but the humidity and the thunderboomers are leaving so that makes it much better. Got a low moving in so the high is slipping back east...means hotter weather for our eastern friends.
With the heat, comes the ants. I've been fighting them for a week or so...they come in the house to find water and heaven help us if a crumb is left for their scouts to find. I haven't had the energy to combat a full-out war as I usually do, take everything off the counters and bring out the Chinese chalk which is a poison chalk found at Chinese stores...I'm sure it contains stuff forbidden by big brother. It really works. I sit on top of the biggest ant bed in the world, I'm sure. The owner had the place sprayed last year for the first time since I've been here and the fight wasn't too bad last year but this year....they're baaaaaaacccckk! Doris, you jpg brings back memories for me...My parents moved to California in 1955 and we were not familiar with the fast-food places that are so ubiquitous to the landscape and ate our meals at home. Once we were out driving and I remember hearing my parents talking about stopping at the golden arches, because what could they do to a hamburger after all. We stopped, we ate and never returned...we found out what they could do....and, of course, it was a place just like your pic. Hope you all have a great day and good things come your way....

Beautiful, sunny, not humid day today. Finally some decent weather after a brutal summer. I can see fall in the not-so-distant future, some of the leaves are even starting to turn. Couldn't sleep last night so I'm on my 4th cup of coffee. But it's a DD, so I'll probably have a fair amount of energy.
I've got a crazy busy week and a half before we head up to Wisconsin on the 28th. My latest rehab has turned into a rental and I have some last minute things to do before the couple moves in on the 1st. Painting, cleaning, etc. Went over to my dad's last night with my son and his friend. Got the yard weeded, grass cut, and my son put PS fluid in Dad's car. When we got there Dad was out to dinner and all the doors were wide open. His neighborhood is safe, but not that safe! He's gotten rather stubborn lately, refusing to wear his med alarm or keep his cell phone on him. I can't seem to convince him that if he has a stroke, heart attack or fall, having a phone 10 feet away won't do him any good.

Begete that's a big Whoops! Drink plenty of water today to get that stuff flushed out. You should be feeling less bloated soon.
Gladys prayers going up for you Myia. Mary we have two of those places where we live. One is right down the road from our house. Of course the arches are long gone, but the food hasn't changed. Bad Bad! Jan keep working on trying to convince your Dad to where his alarm. Oh boy doors open and nobody home is not good that's for sure. Doris are the fires stopped now? I finally got a walk in today with my dogs. Legs feel a little better so thought I'd give them a little work out. We went from our Target to home. It was a nice neighborhood walk. Anne, enjoy your free time. Ants are always a problem. One just wants to shoot those scouts. Rosie you have some real productive plans on cooking ahead. Hummm that cheesecake sounds yummy! Enjoy your day. Lainey sending big HUGS from Calif. and to let you know that you are special to me. I like that hat! Loretta so glad your temps are coming down. Makes for a nicer morning walk.

Begete, I know what you mean. My BLT sandwich yesterday (that I made) had 3 slices of bacon and 2 slices of real whole wheat bread plus mayo, the scale was up this morning. It doesn't take much. Back to it today tho.
We haven't seen any ants this year nor any mosquitos. We usually cannot sit outside after dark in the summer because of mosquitos, but we've been able to this year. No clue what's up to that. There's not even been any spraying going on. And...........we have rain barrels! Bought one of those pre-cooked chickens at the grocery store today for supper. I love them. Gladys, sending good thoughts to Miya, hope she's able to do the chemo. Ginny |

Finally back from a lovely KOA RV resort, with the worst INTERNET service. Word to the wise, Babette. Always ask about their ISP provider. If it's satellite, RUN!!!
Thoughts and prayers for Miya and a big hi to everyone else. Tomorrow it's off to visit family. |

Mary, we have constant ant issues, none in the house yet though but I am constantly spraying around the house and yard.
Still hot and humid here so not much going on. We did load up the dog and go for a little ride this afternoon. She got bored real quick ![]() Linda, we had that issue a couple times on our trip, But when you are in the middle of nowhere there isn't much choice, We just tried getting online during the off hours. |

I, also send strong thoughts for Miya to feel strong enough to get that chemo treatment tomorrow.
Never worry and guilt yourself over over eating something, it's the cumulative overeating that messes you up. It's called "hedonic hunger", the need for food that gives you pleasure. And if there is one thing we all need from time to time, it's "pleasure". ![]() Still several big fires in north California, to danged dry out there. Take care of yourselves, friends. |

Just getting here. I had a full day at the Horse competitions. DGD got a first in the short stirrups and small jumps. She ended up with all round champion in her age group under 12 years. We were all cheering for her. She was happy with herself. Lots of ribbons again. She won prizes and a nice leather bridle, plus $75 in cash.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers to ALL who are needing them tonight. ![]() |

Great! Susan, I know you're popping your buttons....
I just finished the movie, The Artist, I know it won the Oscars but since I'm not impressed usually by the Academy choices I wasn't that eager to watch it....boy! was I wrong. It is a great movie and well deserving of the awards it took. It's been a movie and book weekend just staying out of the heat and off the roads...too many people on the weekend and too expensive to drive....gas over $4.10....come on Fall and the winter gas which is supposed to be cheaper. Yeah! Right! |
